The Kavanaugh Compromise

Recent discussions regarding the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court seem to have centered largely around two issues:  guns and abortion.

Judging from my own experience, conservatives tend to be both pro-gun and anti-abortion, while progressives tend to be both anti-gun and pro-abortion:

                   Pro-abortion    Anti-abortion
Pro-gun                            Conservative
Anti-gun           Progressive

So it occurs to me that the current juxtaposition of these two issues might represent an opportunity to make, albeit informally, a historic deal linking the two.

How much support is there for abortion in New Hampshire? Democrats want us to believe that the majority of Granite Stater’s support the practice. Gubernatorial Candidate Steve “Take another Step to the Left” Marchand is convinced of this. Elsewhere I’ve seen more nuanced responses.

Most of the folks I know are committed to protecting pre-born life with few exceptions, like to save the life of the mother. But some support abortion up to 20 weeks. Others are indifferent to the life question but don’t want tax dollars supporting the practice.

Back on April 16th, Ellen Kolb, writing on her blog, reported that EMILY’s list had decided who it would support for Governor of New Hampshire in the 2018 Election.

Fresh off a victory by its preferred candidate in the Manchester mayoral election, EMILY’s List has announced that it is throwing its endorsement and cash into the New Hampshire governor’s race in support of Molly Kelly.

This reminded me of a question I asked five years ago.

Well, if JHo said she wanted a “conversation”, well, no, she didn’t – she either wants the NH GOP to cave on the issue or cement the ties in making the UniParty stronger.  Or once again doing her political opportunism schtick.  Or all three.  Regardless of the number, it all adds up to the same thing – you SHALL subsume your own personal beliefs in serving the Party.

Trump Tackles Title X – Federal Dollars Illegally Funding Abortions

  • 1008 – The Prohibition of Abortion
    None of the funds appropriated under this title shall be used in programs where abortion is a method of family planning.

But clinics like those run by Planned Parenthood, that use the words “family planning” as cover for pushing their abortion services get millions from Title X annually depite the prohibition.

Mr. Trump has begun the process of correcting that illegal activity.

When the left tells you that women are a protected class, they are lying. Women who march in lockstep with the left’s narrow agenda are protected as long as they keep up. You are not ‘protected’ based on who you want to have sex with or the color your skin. You are only special if you advocate one set of ideas which they define. It’s their Dogma or the dog house. The short-lived Komen for the Cure controversy over funding for Planned Parenthood ignited more than a few debates in the verse, more of them about abortion as it turns out than breast cancer screening. And we (men) were “reminded” of a few things.  Not only does funding “women’s health issues” continue to be successfully propagandized as the latest invented constitutional mandate (men don’t have the same mandate if you forgot), but the femi-nazis and their gargoyle familiars have taken the occasion to remind anyone with a penis that they have no say whatsoever in whether or not a woman should, could, can, or will have an abortion.  Men have no say. Fathers have no say. Just go away

If this is your policy, that’s fine, but from now on permission to use your vagina should come with some kind of End User License Agreement (EULA) which can be read and signed in advance of any intimate contact. Let’s call it the VULVA– Vaginal Use Liability Verification Agreement
