Hassan Couldn’t Balance a Meal – Let Alone a Budget

Responding to false claims by the Hassan campaign that she ‘balanced budgets,’ we get this ad which points out that any Democrat can offset all their reckless spending if they just raise enough taxes.  Of course Maggie didn’t even manage that.  Without one time Federal bailout money she’d have had to raise another 800 million … Read more

Maggie Hassan Proud to be a Sponsor of That Tax

Maggie Hassan keeps saying we need to have a conversation about taxes.  We have them all the time.  The difference is that Democrats talk about raising them (hundreds of them), and Republicans talk about controlling or lowering them.  And then there are the conversations about taxes that slip out when you are least expecting them to.

We get just such an example from the September 19th Gubernatorial debate on business and the economy; when asked about RGGI, the Regional Greenhouse Gas initiative, Candidate Hassan said this…

I was proud to be a sponsor of that tax, eh, the energy efficiency program because it has saved businesses millions and millions of dollars and created over 400 jobs.

That’s a notable quote right there.

Muslim Brotherhood: What does Maggie Hassan think of her husband’s Islamic radical friends that he brings to Philips Exeter Academy?

Update: Erik Erikson has absolutely lambasted and quartered the incestuous relationship that is the Mainstream Media and Democrat apparatchik within the DC beltway mentality.  The first post was a corker the second has this devastating bit to it.  While he’s talking about the intersection of the Uppity Lefty Media and the Uppity Lefty Democrats, it outlines exactly the intent of the New Hampshire Herald’s intent:

Believe it or not, many Americans in this country would have a hard time believing that a person could be married to an abortion rights activist without being okay with that activism. And those Americans would more likely than not conclude that the reporter married to the abortion rights activist, the Democratic operative, the Joe Biden communications director, etc. share their spouse’s liberal world view. If we are honest about it, we’d have to admit that in most cases the Americans concluding that would be absolutely right.

“Democrat Maggie Hassan is running for the most powerful office in New Hampshire. But there are emerging questions as to whether she’s got the right sense of judgment necessary for the office stemming from her husband’s ties with radical Islamists, many of whom belong to organizations with terrorist connections.

Did Maggie Hassan know what her hubby was up to, and did she approve of it?  Ahmed Bedier of the Council on American Islamic Relations spoke to PEA assemblies in 2006 and 2009.  CAIR was created by the terror organization Hamas.  Its charter calls for the destruction of Israel.  CAIR has funneled large sums of money to Hamas.  Among those tied to CAIR are Ismail Royer, Bassem Khafagi, Ghassan Elashi, Musa Abu Marzook, Imam Siraj Wahaj and Rabih Haddad – all considered to be jihadist promoters.

For the record, CAIR was an unindicted co-conspirator in the 2008 Holy Land Foundation Trial, the largest terrorism trial in American history.  The Egyptian born Bedier has a longstanding history of demonizing Israel and making excuses for Hamas and Hezbollah.  Nancy Khalil of the Muslim American Society also spoke at PEA on March 16, 2010.  According to federal documents on terrorism, the MAS was “founded as the overt arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in the United States.”

It is the Muslim Brotherhood that has now taken over power in Egypt.  It has advocated for a one world caliphate encompassing all countries and all people.  Advocates have stated that a Muslim flag will one day fly over the White House and that Shari’ah Law (the severely restrictive law governing all daily actions) will be the law of the United States.  It is antithetical to the US Constitution (we are judges to be infidels simply because we free people create our laws – blasphemy to true Islamists). In their world, our State Motto would be sorely tested “Live Free or Die” – the true believers would make that happen (just look at what the Taliban is now doing in both Pakistan and Afghanistan).

It seems that Philips Exeter Academy likes playing host to these types of folks.  The New Hampshire Herald (written by Chris Anu) came out with this story on the 5th – well done with lots of references to Islamofascist groups and individuals and linkages between them all.  And all of them lead back to one NH point – Philips Exeter Academy where Maggie “The Red” Hassan’s husband is the headmaster there.  While there are a number of knocks on her about not knowing the tribulations that property tax paying folks, property owners trials, and the like (she and her husband live on campus thanks to Philips Exeter Academy), this is an article of another type – it raises a lot of questions in our minds “where does the loyalty lie“?  She certainly is a Progressive – while she may mention the Constitution, her values are not “strict Constitutionally” based (else, why would she even CONSIDER creating legislation dubbed MaggieCare (whereby all the hospitals in the state would effectively lose control to an unelected and unaccountable board that was also self-funding by taxing those it “oversees”) and MaggieSpeech (whereby any political speech effectively would have been strictly regulated by the State). Totalitarian – just like Shari’ah Law.  Read those names again

Good Call, Maggie – Higher Electric Rates for NH

Maggie -The Red- Hassan

From inception, Maggie “The Red” Hassan has been a strong proponent of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), the “Cap and Trade” program that New Hampshire participates in with other northeastern states.  She was instrumental in its 2008 passing and continues to advocate strongly for this nonsensical government swindle.

Maggie -The Red- Hassan

On her campaign website, Maggie declares that RGGI is “good for the economy and the environment” and that it can “help our families and businesses save money on their energy costs“.

Aside from the fact that the RGGI revenue stream has been a severe disappointment (which should only disappoint the beneficiaries of it : enviro-tyrants, the Green industry, and big-government types looking to fill deficits), PSNH recently made a statement that effectively nullifies the argument that RGGI will reduce rates for consumers and businesses.

Ask Maggie Hassan: What Pledge Did You Take?

Did Maggie Hassan Take the Pledge?Maggie “Louisville Slugger” Hassan says she took The Pledge.  What she means (at least for us to believe) is that she took the anti-tax pledge.  The one where Democrats lie to voters about promising to veto any sales or income tax that reaches them.  Lie or not I’m having a hard time figuring out exactly what she means.

CNHT, New Hampshire’s traditional keeper of ‘The No Tax Pledge’ has no record of Hassan submitting a signed Pledge to veto a broad based tax.

American’s for Tax Reform, similarly aligned with CNHT, also does not list Maggie Hassan as someone who has taken the no tax pledge.

So what pledge did Maggie Hassan take?

Democrat Education Plans Repeat Previous Failures

The debates between Maggie Hassan, Democrat, and Ovide Lamontaigne, Republican, remind me that the success of our children is at stake in this election.  Democrat allegiance to Unions and the Educational Establishment lock children into failing public schools.

Today’s Democrat solution to educational problems has been providing increasingly poorer results for decades, just spend more money. That fits Einstein’s definition of insanity, “doing the same thing, over and over again, but expecting different results.”  More money is not the solution, it just raises the cost of poor results.

Yo, elwood from Blue Hampshire! You’re thinking Communist/Socialism – but you forgot that OTHER political system

Either elwood, over at the Boo-Hoo Hamsters (aka Blue Hampshire), either is not conversant with the various political systems or dares not bring up that which really describes what is going on here in America – and one which Maggie “The Red” Hassan literally tried to do legislatively.  He’s whining about a statement from Charlie Bass:

He is running ads claiming that Annie Kuster, who supports the Affordable Care Act, is endorsing a “government takeover of health care.”

Far be it for me to defend good ole’ self-described Progressive Republican Charlie Bass – I’m not going to even paper veneer anything positive for him given that he LIED about only running one more time – and now he’s running again.  A pox on his political future (which may well happen this time around).  However, that aside, elwood is STILL wrong:

Nanny Staters / Progressives really do believe this – you ARE incapable of making rational decisions!

And they are happy to fix that situation….and in fact, demand that they be allowed to meddle in our lives.  After all:

Democrat NH House Rep. Kris Roberts of Keene uttered on the floor of Representative Hall these fine words concerning Government and his fellow citizens:

“Government has to protect us from our own stupidity.”

Many of the delegates at the recently completed Democrat National Convention agreed with this – they have no problem believing that people have the freedom to choose for themselves but only if they make the right decisions:

(H/T: Reason TV )

“I’m pro-intervention.”

Q: So people should only be allowed to make “good” choices?

A: No, people should make choices that have good results

RGA Releases Ad – Maggie Hassan is a Tax And Spend Democrat [Updated – Politco reports]

The Republican Governors Association (RGA) is not wasting any time. They ave released a new ad on the web site http://hassantaxhikes.com/ called ‘Deja Vu.’ And it gets to the heart of the matter.  Maggie ‘But Gurl’ Hassan is a NH Democrat, a tax and spender. She always has been. And her taking the tax pledge is no barrier to that.

Here’s the ad

Not zookeeper – that would have meant Gov. Lynch could actually do something other than just being in the Corner.

Blue Hampshire is really starting to moan and groan: We have seen over the past two years that the Governor’s role is often that of zookeeper The past two years: republican super-majority in the NH House.  Republican super-majority in the NH Senate.  Republican super-majority on the NH Executive Council.  Gov. Progressive Zombie

I’m certain Fergus Culllen and I disagree on a great many things, but I have to admit — I like this editorial in the Union Leader: Liberal Jackie Cilley, Progressive Zombie.   He writes some unknown truths about Democrat Candidate for Governor Jackie Cilley, the accidental State Senator, offering up some insight into things she … Read more

Stingy Old People Who Are Stupid

I can only guess how Democrat State Senate candidate Lee Nyquist’s campaign manger reacted to Clint Eastwood’s speech at the Republican National Convention.  That campaign manager, Kevin Hodges, (batting coach for the New Hampshire Democrat party), had nothing kind to say about Republicans long before his invocation to beat them with a bat; particularity those who are as old as Clint Eastwood who is eighty-two.  And Eastwood’s party registration, whatever it may be, is of no consequence.  To Kevin ‘Awesome Cool Hodges’ he is probably just another one of those..

“…stingy old people who are stupid.”

That was his opinion of Republicans in the New Hampshire House back in April 2010, not long before his cool and awesome self got benched by the voters.  But he’s back, helping Democrat Lee Nyquist run on a campaign to ‘Bring Civility back to Concord,’  which is extremely humorous considering Nyquist can’t even bring civility to his own campaign.

Pledge Zombie Apocalypse

Taxes and Democrats The pledge politics lie and broad based taxesDemocrat Candidate Jackie Cilley is trying to rally the extreme left of the already extreme left in the New Hampshire Democrat party by pretending to be a moderating voice for tax policy.  Her distinction without a difference (other than that she is being direct about her desire for a broad based tax) is that the idea of taking a pledge to veto (or vote against) any sales or income tax is unfair.  That every option should be on the table.

As pointed out here, this is extremely disingenuous because this is the only policy in which she or any of her supporters (or any Democrat) wants to “have a conversation.”  But it is worse than even that.  The facts behind the pledge zombie antics on the lefts left are, as in most cases when dealing with Democrats, lying by omission.

You’re Messin’ With The Wrong People

Democrats are not just hypocrites they are violent ones.  They excuse themselves from the rule of law and the rule of decency, any rule at all actually, if it in any way obstructs their blind pursuit of political power, or the advancement of their extremist agenda. Did Maggie Cilley Ever Denounce Bill Clinton? (Video Added)

Educating With Hassan

Hassan will stand up for unions not education

Maggie “Louisville Slugger” Hassan has a banner ad running over at the Concord Monitor with the pull quote…’I’ll Stand up to anyone who wants to cut Education.’

This is a dirty lie.

Any effort to expand education outside that narrow corridor of Democrat political influence will be blocked.  Any existing programs that support education without government directed taxpayer dollars should expect to be cut given the chance.

But Maggie Hassan will stand up…to anyone who tries to educate their kids without public schools staffed by members of the Teachers unions (or outside of pricey private schools for the “fiscally gifted,” that are beyond the reach of all but the very wealthy).  Hassan will stand up to defend statist, top-down, government managed, public education.  She’ll stand up to spend more of your taxpayer dollars on the inefficient state university system.  And like most Democrats she will do anything and everything in her power to protect that government monopoly by cutting into or cutting off any competition.

Democrat Contradictions – Out Of State Influence in Local Elections

Democrats in New Hampshire take a lot of money from outside the state.  Don’t take my word for it, just go look it up.  Millions and Millions.  They use candidates, campaign committees, so-called non-profits, and even have super wealthy out of state special interest donors making personal donations here and there to move money around the campaign finance camp fire, often right into the state Democrat party coffer, then back out to your local races.

No one should be surprised or even taken aback at this because it is all part of the business of politics, every party does some of this, it is all perfectly legal, and everything was fine up until the point when the New Hampshire Democrat party decided to make it a recurring campaign issue against Republicans.   It wasn’t Democrats who were affected by objects of out of state money and influence, just the Republicans.

Democrats are clearly guilty of hypocrisy on the  issue (no surprise there), but whenever they start a narrative like this it is usually because they are doing something else that might be worse, that they need you to be distracted from.  And guess what?   They were.

Maggie’s World -or- It’s Good to be the Duchess

Sustainability Ferris Wheel

Democratic candidate for governor, Maggie Hassan, was recently endorsed by New Hampshire’s largest union*, the National Education Association (NEA-NH).

In their press release, the union stated that “Maggie shares our belief that good public schools are the foundation for strong communities and a vibrant economy and that for our students and schools to thrive, we all need to be held accountable — teachers, parents, students and elected officials.  She knows that continuing to slash school funding risks losing an entire generation of students who won’t get a second chance…

Union President, Scott McGilvary, also stated that “it became very apparent that there was one candidate that can stand up for public education and bring us forward and that Maggie Hassan is our candidate.
