Smartest President Ever…Part 3

King of executive orders, master of spending and debt, willing to by-pass congress if he has too….but no power to decide what spending increases get cut from his own Sequester bill.

Democrats Always Lie About Taxes and Spending

Democrats lie about taxes, spending, and caring about the middle class, and two opportunities to prove that have recently NH Democrats fleece taxpayers againpresented themselves.

First, Nashua Democrat David Campbell, from whose progressive womb sprang the 15 cent per gallon gas tax, recently remarked in an email to Democrat party leadership that the Democrat gas tax was…

…”the gift that keeps on giving”

“As my father used to say, ‘Don’t spend it all in one place!” Rep. David Campbell, D-Nashua, chairman of the House Public Works and Highways Committee, wrote on Friday in explaining that his gas tax hike bill will generate “bonus monies” for purposes not directly associated with highways, roads and bridges.

Not directly associated is right.

The gas tax will screw you, your family, your small business, and the entire  state economy out of millions more annually once fully implemented, money that will not go to wages, jobs, or anything but the Democrats government-first addiction.

What are those definitions again, Democrats?

Will Beretta Leave Maryland?

Moving costs money but the owners of Beretta are thinking it might be time.Beretta-Px4-Storm

Beretta is weighing whether the rifle line (which would now be illegal if proposed legislation becomes law), and perhaps the company itself, should stay in a place increasingly hostile toward its products. Its iconic 9mm pistol — carried by every U.S. soldier and scores of police departments — would also be banned with its high capacity, 13-bullet magazine.

“Why expand in a place where the people who built the gun couldn’t buy it?” said Jeffrey Reh, general counsel for Beretta.

It looks like Beretta already moved part of their business out of Maryland after a previous game of chicken with state lawmakers, one the legislature and Governor lost.

Report Claims: Manchester NH one of Ten Least Taxed Cities in US

There is a good deal of couched language in this article, but a few things stand out. According to Edward Wyatt, fiscal analyst for the Office of Revenue Analysis, while tax rates are certainly a factor in the tax burden on families, it is more the existence of certain kinds of taxes that determines whether … Read more

Isn’t John Kerry’s Own Success Proof Of What He Says?

Is this the pot calling the kettle black?John kerry

“In America, you have a right to be stupid, if you want to be, and you have a right to be disconnected to somebody else if you want to be. And we tolerate that – we somehow make it through that.”  –John Kerry

And were it not for stupid people, we would not have professional politicians like…John Forbes Kerry (who served in Vietnam, by the way).

I’m not sure about that last part though–making it through?

Even if it Causes Americans to Suffer, Defeating Republicans is Obama’s Priority

President Obama and the fawning mainstream media want you to think that the “sequester” and the harsh “sequester” cuts are being forced on him by others. These are deliberate falsehoods.

The “sequester” was President Obama’s idea to pretend concern, in anticipation of his re-election campaign, for our huge deficits by agreeing to future (small, less than 3%) spending cuts.

Are the drastic cuts that President Obama chooses to make today the ones he envisioned when he proposed the “sequester”? Or, when he promised to veto any attempt to avoid it (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Crt5J3XM_zk)? If yes, then the “sequester” was a bad idea. If he envisioned less severe cuts, he should implement those cuts now.

Every businessman and family can handle a 3 percent budget cut without cutting essential services, why can’t President Obama? Just eliminating the $125 billion that Obama’s GAO says is WASTED annually exceeds the “sequester’s” savings. Or, Obama could reduce the $50 to $100 billion in annual Medicare and Medicaid fraud. He could cut less important services and rein in excessively expensive programs. President Obama refuses to do any of these.

Let’s Be Clear On Why Democrats Want To Kill The School Scholarship Program

In April of last year I pointed out what appeared obvious to me.  That the small business school scholarship program,  eventually passed into law last year–the one New Hampshire Democrats are trying to repeal–could actually save the towns and the state money.

In Merrimack the actual ‘on-paper’ cost per student is well over $14,000.00 each.; total enrollment of 4700 (ish) divided by our roughly 65+ million dollar school budget.  If a parent can only take $3,450.00 per child, ($2500.00 average) then the town is still getting paid $11,000.00 dollar per child with no child left to teach.

To see how that looks if we borrow the formula the Super’s letter

COPUPPSE (Cost of Over-priced Under Performing Public School Education) –  PTPR (Pittance of Tuition Parent Receives) = JPSS  (Jackpot for Public School System)

Well guess what.  Someone on the CATO Institute Blog yesterday, asked Governor Hassan why–if Governor Hassan wants to save taxpayers money–would she also want to repeal a scholarship program that saves taxpayers money on the cost of education?

Hassan’s Budget Gamble Takes Heat From Her Left

Maggie Hassan Rolls the Dice on Imaginary Gambling Revenu
Maggie Hassan Rolls the Dice on Imaginary Gambling Revenue

No one should be surprised to see Maggie Hassan’s budget has millions of dollars in revenue from a source that does not even exist.

In this instance it is gambling, but a few years ago Senator Hassan was part and parcel to repeated budget balancing fiascoes that relied on non existent revenue.

She voted for budgets “balanced” with revenues from taxes that had not even been through the committee process or had a hearing.  She voted for budgets that relied on revenue from the sale of land even though no one knew what land or how much they might get for it.    She was a gold medal recipient in the Granite-State-Left-Wing-Fiscal Gymnastics Finals, helping execute chess master like moves to create the illusion of paying for what had not been paid for.  She even continues to insist to this day that the 800 million dollars in spending she helped accumulate in the Majority Democrat legislature–for which there was no money to pay for in successive fiscal years–was not a deficit nor evidence of fiscal malfeasance on the part of her or her party.  So why, WHY would we be surprised when her first budget as governor relies on at least $80 million in gambling industry dollars for casinos that do not even exist?

Colorado Ammo Mag Company says “You Pass that Bill and We’re Gone.”

News from the world of ‘How bad did you really want that‘ and “reap what you sow“…(Michelle Malkin.com)

On Friday, liberal lawmakers in the Colorado state House passed legislation requiring background checks on private gun sales and placing limits on ammo magazines. A final vote may come today before the bills move on to the state Senate. Dems now hold majorities in both chambers and the governor’s mansion is occupied by Democrat John Hickenlooper.

Colorado’s largest and most profitable manufacturer of high-capacity ammunition magazines has vowed to leave the state if lawmakers pass a measure banning the devices — a move officials with the company say could cost hundreds of jobs and upward of $85 million in potential spending this year

Most of Magpul’s materials vendors are in Colorado and it looks like some of them may follow Magpul wherever they go, taking jobs, revenues…all of it with them.

So is Magpul that serious?

It’s Only a 25% Increase, Who Cares?

By  vote of 186 to 165 the Democrat controlled New Hampshire House passed a 25% increase in New Hampshire’s fuel oil tax.  As numbers go the tax itself is not a large number, but the sum it extracts from the state economy–on the backs of families and business owners who will end up paying it–is.  … Read more

NH Executive Council Votes To Explore Boondoggle

Gun-Toting ‘Lunatic’ Pleads Guilty to ‘Intent to Kill’

The mad right-wing lunatic who, last August, tried to shoot up the offices of the Pro-Gay Rights “Human Rights Campaign” in Washington DC has…

…pleaded guilty to one federal count of crossing state lines with guns and ammunition. He also pleaded guilty to one count of intent to kill while armed and one count of committing an act of terrorism with the intent to kill.

You hadn’t heard about that?  Well that’s because it was actually a left-wing-gay-rights activist who tried to shoot up the office of the Conservative Family Research Council, after finding the location from a list of “Hate Groups” posted on-line by the liberal Southern Poverty Law Center.

NH In-State Tuition For Illegal Immigrants?

HB 474  (Hearing Date: Thursday 2-7-13, 11:30 LOB 207)

This bill provides for in-state status within the university system of New Hampshire for students who are without lawful immigration status and who file an affidavit stating that the student has filed or will file an application to legalize his or her immigration status.

And yet out of state students who are permitted to vote here to elect the same representatives who may permit illegal immigrants to pay in-state tuition rates….are still required to pay out of state tuition rates in the same University system.

From the Democrats, a deafening silence…

Obama has just issued another Executive Order: Henceforth, unregistered firearms in America are to be referred to as “undocumented weapons.” What? What happened? Where’d all the anti-self-defense, “gun control” Democrats go?

A New Hampshire Income Tax By Hook or By Crook

NH Demcrats looking for new county income taxes
“How About Some New Taxes My Pretties”

Tomorrow there is a hearing (10am – LOB 301) for HB 330. HB 330 would allow any county delegation in New Hampshire to adopt a ‘County Income tax’ to be administered by the New Hampshire Department of Revenue Administration (DRA). HB330 sells its tax as money that would go toward paying for education (public education at government run schools) and who could possibly dare to be against dumping more money into government run education?

“Timmuh” Apologizes

“In the case of the Japanese, they usually commit suicide before they make any apology.” —Senator Chuck Grassley

horrigan_Looks_Drunk_here
Rep. Timothy Horrigan: “The Republicans drove me to it, I tell you!”

Timmy apologized today. Well, sort of…eh…not really. I mean, I don’t really think he meant it. First, Tim, “Mother Hubbard” Horrigan told the Union Leader,

  1. Its the Republicans Fault:  “the Republicans have been a little bit hypocritical about the gun violence issue.” He said he had just seen a Tweet David Wheeler, the father of Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victim Ben Wheeler. “I went to grade school with David Wheeler, and he’s a very awesome person…”
  2. I was Angry at the Republicans.  “I was kind of [sic]angry about some of the gun stuff,” Horrigan said, “especially since I know someone whose son was murdered.
  3. Somebody else said it, not me. “It’s not something I said myself,” Horrigan said. “But yes, I did re-Tweet it.”
  4. Its nothing personal. ” “It was nothing personal” against them, (Horrigan) said.

That is not an apology…that is a bunch of excuses for the bad behavior. That shows me he is strident and lacking any remorse.

New Hampshire Democrats Want Their JackBoot Back on The Necks of Poor Kids

schooL_choiceBack in April of 2012 we reported on how 71% of New Hampshire’s public schools failed to meet their adequate yearly progress in math and reading.  (Not very ‘progressive’ of them.)  We later debated the potential benefits to local New Hampshire school districts who could ‘potentially’ collect a tax windfall per student with the program–more than they would lose if the new voucher legislation was passed.  (It passed.)  We made fun of left wing criticism (narrative) against the scholarship program and even showed how it had saved other states money.  We even reminded Liberals that they have been known to argue against overturing settled law (which the school voucher program is), the same Democrats who were now focusing on the budget as promised trying to overturn every law Republicans passed that they could–as quickly as possible.

Well, New Hampshire Democrats are still Democrats and the scholarship program passed by House Republicans is a threat to their union monopoly on education.  So a scholarship program that is specifically designed to direct private money to help the most vulnerable, low income families in our state, gain access to schools with the potential to deliver better outcomes, must be repealed.
