Left-Wing Intolerance And Extremism is Driving Democrats From The Party

#WalkAwayThe media is committed to selling the story that the Republicans are divided when, in fact, it is the Democrat Party that is in the throes of a full-blown civil war. The first “public” signs of wide-spread division showed themselves when Bernie Sanders challenged The Clinton Machine.

The threat that Bernie could rob Hillary of another nomination was so real that the DNC, CNN, and others fixed the primaries. The media ignored the scandals (not just because they were complicit) and the outrage, as well as a rift that kept getting bigger. And then Hillary Lost.

A loss that institutionalized open hatred and derision for anyone (including registered Democrats) who was not at progressive outrage level 11 all day and every day.

Put another way, tolerance for any word, idea, or deed outside the narrowing world-view of the far-left factions running the Democrat Party made you the enemy even if you were gay, black, Latino, trans, in a union, a single mom, or an immigrant. A theme of intolerance I’ve been reporting in these pages for years.

The only thing that matters to Democrat leadership is power. If your ‘politics’ will not advance that goal you are useless to them. And these days, the weaponized outrage warriors of the victim-cult will “trigger all over you” at the slightest ‘offense.’

So the #WalkAway movement was born. It claims to represent a growing wave of Democrats who will no longer excuse the hate and intolerance in the Modern Democrat Party, especially after it’s been directed at them.

These are former liberals who have discovered, as its founder Brandon Straka says in his video, “the Democratic Party’s greatest and most insidious lie:” That without them, you are nothing. As Straka puts it, “They will insist that you are a victim doomed to exist within a system that is rigged against you…that you are a victim of systematic oppression…that you are a victim of your circumstances, and no amount of hard work or motivational action will ever allow you to overcome your victimhood or the privilege of those around you.”

In rejecting the Greatest Lie, the members of #walkaway are rejecting the Democrats’ only recruitment tool – victimization. Those walking away are rebels, an “awoke” army declaring their freedom as individuals, claiming their futures and their very lives.

The Townhall piece includes stories that may appear surprising to some but will look pedestrian to our well-informed readers.

There’s a Memphis woman who introduces her young nephew, a St. Jude Hospital cancer survivor. She had tweeted a thank-you to Eric Trump for the Trumps’ $16 million contribution to the charity, and she’s furious at the cascade of Twitter attacks from left-wingers that she’s endured for thanking Trump.

The left’s TDS zero tolerance policy is costing them support and voters. (And if Obama gave 16 million to a children’s hospital I bet you’d have heard about that.)

A woman who describes herself as liberal is married to a Navy vet who became a Trump voter. She says, “I was horrified that our friends now say I married a racist, homophobic, misogynist, horrible man. My Facebook page is just cancer, people hating on each other. I won’t be voting for a party that accuses everybody of being racist.”

These aren’t just a national phenomenon. Ray Buckley, the chair of the New Hampshire Democrat party deliberately referred to huge swaths of independent voters in the Granite State as White Supremacist if all they did was talk to Republicans. And the now-infamous Democrat House Rep Sherry Frost is, almost daily, using the progressives fake #Resistance movement as an excuse to subtly and sometimes not so subtly foment hate and violence. And she’s not alone.

There’s a gay man who says when he came out as a Trump supporter he was “called a Nazi, a self-hating fas$$$$…the gays and liberals have been ruthless towards me. I was never treated this way coming out of the closet as gay.”

Open hostility, public shaming, protesting administration officials at restaurants, assaulting conservative speakers, property damage and violence, and the threats and intimidation are having an impact. The snowflake campus riots have not helped. And while refusing to even let people with whom they disagree speak and openly advocating violence to silence them may not make the national cable news people are taking notice.

And just last week we saw Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez upset of a long-time establishment Democrat.

People are putting two and two together. The party is openly shifting toward candidates who support a political system that, not uncoincidentally, uses the same intimidation and violence we’ve been seeing to get and stay in power. The Democrats who are walking away are experiencing what that feels like first hand.

Zero tolerance.

Aisle-crossing is a one-way deal. You either do and say what they want and support their priorities on their terms – whether you agree or not – or you will be treated like an enemy of the state.

That is their promise to you. To every American. It’s been that way for years. But now they are having a difficult time hiding it. And it’s going to cost them more than just registered Democrat voters.

The Blue Wave is increasingly the hands of former Democrats saying goodbye to a party that didn’t just leave them, it ran them off the progressive plantation.
