The headline is a quote from moi, your’s truly. And it really does matter. Most Establishment Republicans seem to hold that winning is Job 1 and Job 2 is…yeah…just…whatever. To activists or those good souls that see something wrong and want to right it, the second part IS the most important.
Trump Campaign Says it Won AZ, PA and the Presidency; Will Recount WI
An emphatic Bill Stepien condemned Fox News’ determination that the campaign of former Vice President Joe Biden has won the state of Arizona in the 2020 presidential election.
Is Merrimack a Bellewether for NH? Dems Rule Fed Races GOP Owns Local Races
I’m looking at the final totals for Tuesday for Merrimack. Biden, Shaheen, and Pappas got more votes in this supposedly Republican town. Downticket, Republicans cleaned up with few exceptions. What the bleep is that all about?
The Welfare Isn’t Education Act
I recently participated in a class on the yearly budget process that my town will be going through in the near future. And I was astonished to learn that in New Hampshire, individual towns are responsible for providing welfare to residents who need it… and that there are apparently no budgetary limits to the amount that may need to be provided. That last part sounded disturbingly familiar.
Covidlages
Recently, I proposed the Let Children Be Children Act, a legal framework that would let people who want other people to take responsibility for them to voluntarily regain the legal status of children in order to become wards of the state.
NH’s Red Wave – Republicans Say they Have Also Flipped the NH House [Update]
As reported earlier this morning, the Federal elections went wrong in the Granite State, but New Hampshire Republicans did very well in local elections. While still unconfirmed, we flipped the Executive Council and State Senate, and it looks like the NH House as well.
The Let Children Be Children Act
The other day, a friend and I were discussing one of his neighbors. We probably all know someone like this — if it weren’t for bad luck, he’d have no luck at all. But his bad luck seems to be caused almost completely by his own inability to carry out some of the basic functions of adulthood.
A 2am Summary – 2020 Electoral Results – President, NH State Wide, and Other Races That Amuse Me.
UPDATE (Wednesday 7:36am): A few numbers have changed but not real “change” in the outcomes – yet. More later. US House – Republicans have picked up 4 seats but Dems still have the majority (predictions that Dems would add to their majority were wrong).
Too Much Blue But Some (Very!) Good News at the State Level in New Hampshire
New Hampshire still has two Democrat congressmen, and Sen. Shaheen did not lose. Gov. Sununu took Dan Feltes to the woodshed, however, and it looks like we may take the majority back in the Executive Council and State Senate. The Big Race is still too close to call.
2020 Electoral Results – President, NH State Wide, and other races that amuse me.
UPDATE (Wednesday 7:36am): A few numbers have changed but not real “change” in the outcomes – yet. More later. The real question, though, is how long I can stay up because some of these are going to go real late. There’s a good possibility that the US President race won’t be decided for days. I’ll … Read more
Burning Masks
During the 1960s, burning things was a popular form of protest. Men burned their draft cards. Women burned their bras. Men and women who opposed the Vietnam War burned their flags.
A Bit Optimistic but These Polling Data Bits Should Be Seen
Based on 2016, I’m not sure ANYONE knows, really, what is going to happen today, tonite, and for the next couple of weeks. I’ve seen a number of posts where the vote-by-mail ballots have been tossed or incorrectly sent out.
NH Midnight Voting Tradition Leans Trump – Sununu Buries Feltes in Race for Governor
Every election cycle, the earliest reliable poll results come from northern New Hampshire. These towns have a long tradition of voting in person, right after midnight. Dixville Notch with 5 registered votes is reliably blue, but this year President Trump managed to win the majority in another town.
Blogquestion of the Day: What Is Your Guess for the Electoral College Results?
I love it that the Electoral College is one of the stunning achievements of our Founding Fathers in that it reinforces the philosophy of Federalism.
Democrat Bette Lasky with Dan Feltes – Electioneering in Ward 3 Nashua
To be clear, there will be no punishment, but this. Eyewitness accounts from Ward 3 in Nahua. Dan Feltespictured with Bette Lasky. Greeting voters in line to vote within 100 feet of the polling place entrance (not social distancing!).
Quick Thought: Just Remember What the Democrats’ New Definition of “Voter Suppression” Is!
NOTE: While it may well be too late for most voters who HAVE voted by mail, New Hampshire is 1 of the only 8 States that allow you a “re-do”:
Notable Quote – Does Presidential POLICY matter over Presidential Character?
Never Trumpers like Steve Duprey, Tom Rath, Gordon Humphrey, and other Establishment NH GOP “Luminaries” believe so. I think they have their heads up their asses while submerged in a pit of mud, but that’s me. Talk is cheap; they only are looking at Style over Substance – they didn’t mind getting their heads kicked … Read more
Religious Freedom and Free Exercise
Religious freedom and free exercise of religion are prominent in the First Amendment. Coronavirus response has, among other things brought on a very intense, national debate. Yes, people are continuing to discuss the wisdom of lockdowns.
Let’s See How This Prediction From the Cook Political Report Holds up for NH?
NH Journal quotes the Cook Political Report as saying that while Sununu will retain the Governorship, the Senate and House have gone from Toss Up to Lean Democrat (they obviously already have substantial majorities in both). NHJ also has the UNH Survey which shows a different picture (literally):
Poll: Trump Wins NH 47% to 43%
Again, polls. Again, 2016/2020. Again, grains of salts. Again, people are TIRED of pollsters and Trump supporters won’t talk to them. Like me – unlike all previous years, I refused to answer a single poll phone call. As soon as I hear that it is a “survey”, it’s a click from me.
