Democrats demonstrate their lack in trust of you as a fellow citizen with every breath. Their legislative priorities deny you resources. Regulatory endeavors shift decision making from individuals or job creators to bureaucrats. You can’t even lay claim to how you vote; they insist third parties and foreign interlopers manipulated you.
New Hampshire is famous for its dedicated funds. Dedicated to whatever the spenders in Concord need when revenues don’t come in as predicted. For the record that’s primarily a Democrat problem but it’s a problem with a purpose.

Higher taxation by the left is a message. It says you are an idiot. Too stupid to know how to spend the wages you earn. And since you can’t do it right, you are forcing them to take your money and do the right thing with it. So, for Democrats to complain about higher taxes is rare.
There’s an inherent falsehood to the phrase “If you want less of something tax it.” While accurate concerning human behavior, it is inverted in relation to Democrat behavior. The left never raises a tax to get less. They do it to get more.

Back around 2006 New Hampshire Democrats happily abrogated taxing authority to an out-of-state commission. This body, known as the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), was granted the power to tax you through your electric bill and then pass it off to Concord after taking a handling fee.

The New Hampshire State Budget is a big fat, bloated pig. The Democrats gave the state a 16.8% raise by proposing $418,000,000.00 (million dollars) in new taxes.

Massachusetts is considering a statewide tax on sugary drinks. We’ve covered these taxes in Philadelphia and Seattle. They’ve been a boon to jobs and businesses outside their borders. We’ve no reason to think the same won’t be true for New Hampshire if the Bay State buys in on it too.
A House Democrat in charge of the Caucus Congressional Campaign Committee has a suggestion for her party. Stop focusing on the outrage of the day. Pay attention to kitchen table issues. That got me thinking. What does that even mean to Democrat’s, especially here in New Hampshire?
We will argue over the finer points, but at the end of the legislative day, those don’t matter. Republicans used their majority to give back. They lowered taxes and reduced government interference over your daily life. Democrats are using their majority to take things away from you.
