Democrat Terie Norelli Brings Civility To the New Hampshire House?

Get a load of this. It is part of a quote from an elected member of the New Hampshire House.

“What we can do is make the environment here so unwelcoming that some will choose not to come, and some may actually leave.  One way is to pass measures that will restrict freedoms that they think they will find here.”

Can you imagine any person in elected office saying something like this and not being run out of office by their party leadership? The person speaking is talking about using the legislature’s police powers to intentionally drive people away from New Hampshire or out of New Hampshire. They are suggesting we use the government to restrict people’s freedom, on purpose.

NH House A Gun Free Zone

By a vote of 196 to 153, the New Hampshire House voted to make their little corner of heaven a gun free zone.  Six (r)epublicans voted with the Democrats to ban citizens from carrying firearms in Representatives Hall and the House gallery.   Belknap County – Dennis Fields, Sanborton Carroll County – Karel Crawford, Center … Read more

Terie ‘Scrooge’ Norelli – Fires Staffer weeks Before Christmas

Incoming New Hampshire House speaker Terie Norelli (D- Grinch), is taking heat for her abrupt termination of longtime House receptionist Betty Lichty.  Betty was apparently hired by Norelli back in 2006 and has worn out her usefulness in the position.  Perhaps answering the phone for Speaker O’Brien for two years was more than Terie’s delicate … Read more

Un-Un Breaking News: Stacie Laughton Resigns Again

Convicted Felon and recently elected New Hampshire House Democrat Stacie Marie Laughton has ended the roller-coaster ride since her extensive criminal history was released by the Laconia Sun and resigned…in writing….to the Secretary of State.  (Story went public, she resigned, un-resigned–sort of, then resigned again.) So reports the Union leader. In the same piece (UL Editorial) … Read more

Un-Breaking News: Laughton Un-Resigns….Decides to Serve in NH House

Stacie Laughton has now changed her mind again, and decided that she will accept the House seat won on November 6th, according to an updated article at unionleader.com Earlier this morning we reported that Laughton was planning to step down.  Now she is stepping back up.  Although it is not final.  Laughton is seeking guidance … Read more

Breaking News: Laughton Resigns

The union leader is reporting this morning that newly elected Democrat House member Stacie ‘The Beloved‘ Laughton (Hills Dist 31/Nashua) has decided to resign.

Laughton is disappointed, and states that no one asked her to resign, but that she was asked to consider all the things that have been presented.

Call me cynical but if you are elected to a post, and some unpleasantry from your past emerges, and people ask you to ‘consider’ things…they want you to resign.  They are just afraid to say it because their identity politics prevents them from going on the record.

Personally, I’m not done with this and it has nothing to do with Laughton.

Future New Hampshire House Democrat?

Political parties never stop recruiting “qualified” candidates for future races and I think I’ve identified a potential Democrat contender for 2014. Eighteen year-old Tyler Murray of Manchester New Hampshire was recently charged with Fraudulent use of a credit card: Murray is accused of using a credit card belonging to another to purchase $258.58 worth of … Read more

Marshall ‘Lee’ Quandt Want’s To Be The Next Republican Speaker of the NH House…

Rumor has it that Marshall ‘Lee’ Quandt want’s to be the next Republican Speaker of the New Hampshire House……which is a huge problem, because Lee Quandt is not exactly a Republican to begin with.

Despite that barrier, and a public opposition to liberty, the scuttlebutt is that RINO Marshall ‘Lee’ Quandt still thinks he’d make a great speaker of the House, and he is already trying to build a coalition, and publicly endorsing other House Republican candidates who have told him they would back his move once the House meets to choose the next Speaker.

This is disturbing for several reasons.

Remembering Democrat Rule In New Hampshire – Part 1

New Hampshire Democrats treated your money like toilet paperIn the 2006 Elections Democrats took control of the New Hampshire House for the first time in 95 years (giving them complete control of State government for what would end up being four years).  What happened after that must not be forgotten, for it is the doom of men that they forget.

They forget that the House Democrats first move was to turn budget policy on its head.  Instead of estimating realistic revenues so that the governor could have a guideline for his budget, they would let the governor request a 14% expansion of state government in February of 2007, to which they would pad or add their spending spree agenda items before figuring out how to tax New Hampshire citizens to pay for their wish list.

In the now infamous shout heard round the State House, Democrat House leader Dan Eaton would later condense the entire four year budget strategy of the New Hampshire left into one sentence.

‘It makes sense to know how much you’re spending before you decide how much money to raise.’

Now that might just make sense for a school trip or new band uniforms but this wasn’t a fundraiser.  Eaton was talking about using the force of law and the power of the state to extract juice from the fruits of other peoples labors based on the whimsy of big government legislators with little or no regard for its affect on the state, our economy, or the people who would be paying, and that was exactly how the Democrats would govern.

New Hampshire Wire Tap Laws and the Wheedling Legislature

“All men profess honesty as long as they can. To believe all men honest would be folly. To believe none so is something worse.” —John Quincy Adams

Yesterday, a Union Leader Editorial featured commentary about the flaws of New Hampshire’s Wire Tapping and Eavesdropping laws currently in place. The commentary came on the heels of the Supreme Court upholding the Conviction of the now-deceased and infamous Kristin (McDonald) Ruggiero, an evil shrew who sought to use the courts as a cudgel and see her ex-husband locked away, ruined and broken.

The nexus of Kristin’s appeal asserted that the lower court incorrectly admitted photographic evidence of her committing her crime. The problem for Kristin was evidence established she placed the calls from California to South Carolina, jurisdictions that lack the criminally enabling restrictions codified in New Hampshire statutes. Summarily, she lost her appeal. Following notification by her lawyer, Mark Sisti, the grim reaper came for a visit shortly thereafter.

How Did Your NH House Republican Rank In 2011?

NHHRA Banner

The New Hampshire House Republican Alliance has released its July 2011 score card for the entire first session of the Republican House majority. NHHRA Score Card PDF  file.

I’ve culled my reps from the list (Hills 19) below.  I’ve also generated a list of the Republican bottom feeders for 2011.  These are what we would call RINOs, moderate democrats who could never survive the bullying from the left, or might never get elected if they admitted that they have little or no interest in supporting the Republican party platform.

They are folks who are incapable of finding the 80/20 rule, or to be more precise the 70/30 rule, and in one instance (Ken Gould) we have a (r)epublican who only voted against the party 70% of the time.

The NHCP (formerly the NHDP) will call this a purity list, which is amusing when you consider how they treat their moderates, but let me assure you that it is no such thing.  It is more like an intervention.  Many of these troubled souls are in denial.  Trapped in Republican leaning districts they are pretending to be something they are not.  I’m just helping them (and their constituents) to accept that they may be democrats, actual independent moderates, or just missing the boat often enough to get lumped in with people who have little or no interest in the goals of the party.

There’s nothing wrong with that.  But it’s time to come out of the closet and stop pretending.  To embrace your "independent" or democrat roots, and run as what you are instead of pretending to be something you are not.

Here is the Hills 19 list first (Merrimack).  For the list of bottom feeders, just follow the jump.

Honey Puterbaugh for State Rep

Honey is a solid small government candidate who will do her best to keep the state off your back and out of your face. She will support realistic revenue projections, budgets that address real world needs instead of ideological wants. And as a homeschooler, she supports real choice in education.

Testimony or Public Comment?

There were a lot of bills heard this week in Concord…. And there was much public comment that followed… Portions of which were outright lies and confabulation. To support, or not support the legislation at hand….a particular bill. I nearly always refer to any verbal address to committees as public comment, despite others who call … Read more

What Was He Thinking?

Gene Chandler has been taking a good deal of heat lately.  He deserves it in my opinion.  He knows full well the Democrats will make the same hay over the trumped up corn roast scandal, just like they did back then.  That means if he wins he’s on the defensive every single day instead of focusing on business.  It also means that the entire caucus has to defend their electing him to the post as well, even if they didn’t vote for him to be Speaker.

And if they try to claim they did not vote for him, now we have to defend against attacks of party division over the so-called "ethically challenged" Gene Chandler.

If you, for one moment think that won’t happen you are deluded.

Can Gene Chandler Salvage The Liberal Agenda?

Provocative title, yes?  Well before you complain about it ask yourself a question.  Why does Dean "Bob" Barker, and the leftistas prefer Chandler over O’Brien?  "That the Dems, if unified, can play a role in preventing him [O’Brien]from being House Speaker, is good news. Dean is part and parcel to the entire Buckley/Sullivan progressive fringe … Read more

Does The GOP Want That New Direction Or Not

Should the New Hampshire Republican House Caucus have the opportunity to vote for their Majority leader? That’s majority leader not Speaker. Traditional wisdom says yes but today, rumor has it, that three of the four candidates for speaker are said to have voted no on the matter.

Guest Post – Leigh MacNeil

There are two clear choices on Tuesday. We can continue down a path of big government, higher taxes and less freedom, or we can demand from our legislators a limited government with less spending, lower taxes and more freedom.

(D)i Fruscia Takes His Toys And Goes…

With any luck this will be the last time Tony (D)iFruscia leaves the republican party.  Kevin Landrigan reported yesterday that (D)iFrusica, who lost his seat in the primary last Tuesday has officially declared himself an independent.  Mr. (D)iFruscia–and oddly enough Harrel Kirkstein (spokesman for the New Hampshire democrat party) agree that this is another example … Read more
