Do Nothing Democrats

It has been three years since the Democrat party produced a federal budget. The Democrat Senate has blocked repeated efforts by the Republican controlled House to ‘do something’ about that. President Obama, Senate leader Harry Reid, and the Democrat leaderships contribution (including their media homunculus) has been to demand compromise without giving any.

A Rant Worth Reading

Liberals see success as a problem – if people are able to live their own lives without the guidance of aspiring liberal fascists, the entire premise of liberalism is fatally undercut. So success is the target, …

Stonyfield CEO In Line For Another Pile of Taxpayer Cash?

>The question should not be if Stonyfield Dairy CEO and prolific Democrat donor Gary Hirshberg gets another pile of taxpayer cash, it should be “how much is he going to get?”  But whatever do I mean?

The University of New Hampshire has just been approved to receive a Department of Agriculture grant totaling $2.86 million dollars to “enhance the year-round capacity of northeast organic dairy producers to produce high quality component-enriched organic milk.”

Hirshberg is almost always on the receiving end of taxpayer funded public largesse.  In August of 2010 he was awarded $100,000.00 by Democrat Governor John Lynch and the State of New Hampshire as part of a job training program.

Not long after Stonyfield was fingered by Senator Tom Coburn over the matter of a $700,000.00 Federal grant to the University of New Hampshire to study the environmental impact of organic dairy farms on the environment.  Who do you think just happens to have an organic Dairy Farm?  An organic dairy farm run by the Hirshberg’s but majority owned by Dannon /Group Danone, one of the largest food companies on the face of planet earth.

How big is Danone?

NH Dems Target ‘Free State Project.’

OWS protester craps on police car.

Manchester City Democrats are concerned.  People need to know which candidates in City races have links to the Free State Project, so they’ll "know where they stand on the issues." (From the Tuesday morning edition of the Union Leader)

It sounds like the folks at the Suckley (Sullivan/Buckley) School for Orwellian Linguistics are using peoples lack of knowledge about the liberty movement to frighten them out of voting for anyone they can label as a Free Stater.

Guilt by association.  Prejudice.  Create division. Fear mongering narrative. Typical.

Of course we could never in a million years suggest that the gentleman crapping on a police car at the Occupy Wall Street (Democrat Party Endorsed) protest, is in any way an example of the Democrat Party.  (Looks like he’s trying to pass ObamaCare.) The trash, the arrests.  Then of course there are other recent union protests, violent threats, wishing rape and violence on Republican Women, video games where you get to kill Republican ‘Zombies,’ calling Republicans Racists for liking a conservative candidate who happens to be black–while calling the black man a monkey in a window…Can you find any prominent New Hampshire Democrats who have spoken out against any of the ill heaped on their opponents?  Probably not.  That is because they support it.

“He said if the Selectmen do not do something he will go to the newspapers.”

This is funny as all get out – once again, we have a flaming liberal demanding something be done by other people to satisfy his needs (or ego)!  Just cracks me up!  I’m on my hamlet’s Budget Committee and this is now budget season here in NH.  Thus, we have started our meetings with the Town departments and (soon) the School Board to create the budgets that will be voted upon by the folks in town.  So, what’s the beef?

It seems that Leo Sanfacon, a spending liberal who (in my previous run-ins with him) is only concerned with "the quality of life" (and not always the cost thereof) contacted the Town Administrator who relayed a message:

Today I received a phone call from Leo Sanfacon.  He is requesting the Selectmen take steps to make sure the Budget Committee meetings are broadcast on cable TV.  During this conversation I suggested that he submit his request directly to the Budget Committee because the Board of Selectmen and Budget Committee are independently elected bodies and neither has any legal authority over the other.  He said if the Selectmen do not do something he will go to the newspapers.  He then indicated he would like a call-back from Chairman O’Brien to ensure that his message was delivered.

Heh!  It seems that the kerfuffle from last week’s brush up between a few of the members of the Committee over conflict of interest finally reached the space between his ears, and I bet that he is some upSET over some of what happened as the dustup hit the papers ("oh, the ignominy of it all, we just don’t behave that way in this town….").

You know, I really do wish that he goes to the newspapers – and show himself to be of the classification "moroon".  You know…

A Typical Day In Mr. Buckley’s Neighborhood

These folks have all insisted, in one way or another, that things like unemployment, food stamps, even destruction of public and private property, are good for the economy. So using their metrics, these are things Democrats should not complain about unless they are actually bad for the economy.

Al Gore, Man-Bear-Pig And Global Warming

“America, how can I write a holy litany in your silly mood?” ~Allen Ginsberg “They pay pseudo-scientists to pretend to be scientists to put out the message: ‘This climate thing, it’s nonsense. Man-made CO2 doesn’t trap heat. It may be volcanoes.’ Bullshit! ‘It may be sun spots.’ Bullshit! ‘It’s not getting warmer.’ Bullshit!” “When you … Read more

Florida Adopts Drug Testing For Recipients Of Public Assistance

“One of the consequences of such notions as “entitlements” is that people who have contributed nothing to society feel that society owes them something, apparently just for being nice enough to grace us with their presence.”~Thomas Sowell

welfare_money_Grok.jpg

Florida is the first state to pass a law requiring those receiving state benefits to submit to drug testing. Florida Governor Rick Scott told CNN that the law was passed to provide personal accountability of those who would receive public assistance. Governor Scott believes that taxpayers should not be subsidizing the illegal drug use of those who are on the public dole. Under this law, those seeking to receive aid would be responsible to bear the up-front cost for drug testing, but the law provides for reimbursement.

And as predictably as could be anticipated, the rank-and-file liberal establishment lined right up to fight and advocate for status quo unaccountability. The perjuring impeached former Federal Judge and current State Representative Alcee Hastings made a whole bunch of noise about this bill being, “downright unconstitutional.” There is somebody we should listen to.

The ACLU does what it usually does and filed a suit to block the law. Howard Simon, executive director of the ACLU of Florida told CNN, “What (the Governor) is doing is giving ugly legitimacy to an unfortunate stereotype that has been in this country for a couple of decades – that all welfare recipients are a bunch of drug abusers,” pure demagoguery…But okay…let us look at what Howie confabulates.

It is a fair statement to say that not all people on welfare use illegal drugs. Fact is, we don’t really know how many people on welfare use drugs. Nobody wants to talk about it for obvious political reasons. However, lets take a look at what the National Poverty Center says about drug use:

“Citing (April 2004) estimates of the extent of substance abuse among welfare recipients, the authors suggest that policymakers and analysts have likely overstated the contribution of substance dependence to welfare receipt. The authors note that while substance use, abuse, and dependence are barriers to self-sufficiency, so are poor education, lack of transportation, physical and mental health problems, and other difficulties that are more common than substance dependence among welfare recipients. The authors stress the need for comprehensive services to address the multiple barriers faced by the most disadvantaged welfare recipients.”

NPC steers clear of making any concrete determination by simply directing attention away from drug use, to the whole host of other problems endemic in the welfare community. Their underlying thesis is to modestly acknowledge drug use but redirect the focus away from it and advocate for a more broader expansion on services. In other words, “Taxpayers, don’t ask us for details, you simply must pay more…”

The NPC has a graphic on their website that would suggest only 21% of welfare recipients use illegal drugs. Lets accept that at face value for the sake of discussion. In the Granite state roughly 53,000 households or 112,000  people use food stamps. That is roughly 1% of the total state population. According to the Henry Kaiser Family foundation, New Hampshire’s per capita food stamp benefit is $121.21. That is $13,575,520. So according to the National poverty center, the Granite State pays a public benefit in the amount of $2,850,859 to people who use illegal drugs. And with our liberal friends that is just aye-okay.

Meet Bob “Bathroom Bill” Perry

Bob supported all the taxes, the wacky accounting, the bad revenue estimates, the overspending, the nanny state nonsense, even job killing taxes and bloated government spending during a recession. A vote for Bob is a vote for more taxes, more fees, less money in your wallet every year, and more bureaucracy and state control everywhere else.

The Class Warfare Of Blue Hampshire

Caitlin fails to do an effective case study on wealth and liberalism while she waves a finger at Bill O’Brien because if she looked hard enough around the Granite State she would see the utter rank hypocrisy of leftists and their verbal articulation of progressive policies, while pursuing within their own personal lives a hard-core capitalist modus operandi that would make even Milton Friedman blush.

Manchester Needs a ‘Full-Time Refugee” Coordinator?

Liberals love to spend money. No doubt about it. Especially when the money they are spending taxpayer money. Despite tough economic times for the rank and file taxpayer, City Hall liberals are still crafting ways to generate new spending in an effort to expand the almighty nanny-feifdom of city government.

The Sweet Stench Of Left Wing Hypocrisy

The Union Leader wastes no time, exposing Hawkins connection to money she received May 11th from America Votes (out of state left wing donation), which Granite State Progress then used to support the Democrat in the special election she is squawking about, specifically to elect that democrat, in that election.

A Glass of Kool-Aid With Jackie Cilley

Jackie_Cilley_Kool_Aid_Small.jpg

“In our time political speech and writing are largely the defense of the indefensible. George Orwell

Former State Senator Jackie Cilley waxed in awe(Union Leader“Another View”) when President Obama addressed the nation late Sunday Night to tell us Bin Laden was dead. Cilley writes, “This is the essence of leadership and courage, lest we forget what it looks like. It also sharply contrasts this man and the current crop of contenders for his job.” Little more than a disquisition of gushery, Cilley suggests Obama is the essence of leadership and the Republican candidates are a bunch of pedestrian neddle-nosed light-weights.

And while Jackie made quick work of diving into the all-too-typical topically boring, class-warfare laden template of caricaturing GOP hopefuls as money-grubbing wind bags, she rounds out her observations with a slaps at all things antithetical to rank liberalism. Rounding out her diatribe with some “Blame Bush” doctrinal morsels, as a true partisan will do, Jackie seems to be suggesting that Democrat campaign money comes from hard working folks and not the like of Move-on,  George Soros or any of the other Kool-Aid drinking commie-libs. Oh No, that never happens, Does it, Jackie?

Yet, while taking some partisan shots at, “The Donald,” RINO Mitt Romney, Michelle Bachman and Tim Pawlenty, Jackie suffers from selective and acute amnesia failing to remember her own darling community organizer’s light-weight bumblings.  Remember when Obama told voters in Beaverton Oregon about his visits to “57 States.” And, while addressing voters in Pennsylvania, he quipped, “It’s not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations…”

My all time favorite is the National Prayer Breakfast bumble February of last year, where he repeatedly mispronounced, Navy Corpsman (Cor-man) not just once, but four times saying, “Corpse-man”.

Finally, this knee-slapper: “My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you’ll join with me as we try to change it.”

So when Jackie finally finishes throwing mud at the Tea Party, the Birthers, Republicans and Bush, she extols the virtues of Obama with, “Every element of the mission that brought down bin Laden speaks to the character of the man who bore the ultimate responsibility for its failure if not its success…” Now that, is just plain-old Sheep manure.

LIBERALS AND FISCAL DENIABILITY

Pig_Donkey_Grok.jpg

Since the beginning of the year, countless editorials and opposite editorial pages across the Granite State have been one large veritable whine-fest…A seemingly never-ending weeping and gnashing of teeth over cuts in various line items of the state budget. Hand-in-hand with all the pissing and moaning, is the rank demagoguing of New Hampshire House Republicans for the choices they are making. If Liberals are good at nothing else, they are certainly adept at blaming everything bad on Republicans, even after it was they who made the mess.

Noticeably absent from all of this cacophony, noise, caterwauling and fit-pitching is any reasonable alternative or meaningful way to fund all these sacred cash cows that each their loyal patrons willingly advocate for keeping and maintaining. It is as if there is no budget shortfall or structural deficits realized. Call it fiscal deniability.

“Those evil Republicans! They are cutting (“insert esteemed cash cow here”).

And, in predictable fashion, the noisy screeching of the liberal magpies checker the ambience with demagoguery and finger-wagging, replete with the requisite vitriol of class warfare.  Like sculptured nails on a chalk board, the tax-and spend liberals still offer no reasonable suggestions even when they run out of steam.  We would be remiss to overlook the much-heard faux straw man charges like, “Republicans hate children,” or, “Republicans are stealing from the working class.”

A week ago Friday the esteemed fishwrapper, The Concord Monitor weighed in with an editorial admonishing its’ readers that, Killing ‘car tax’ will make things worse. When House Republicans sought to repeal the motor vehicle registration surcharge, The editorial

Pelosi Doesn’t Want To Fix It

Pelosi stood against reforming a bankrupt retirement scheme, and now she is taking the same tack here: Medicaid should not be reformed lest it appear as if it needs reform.

NH Democrats New Talking Point: Subservience To The Crown

New Hampshire democrats are exposing their own hypocrisy again. Doesn’t take much, but this time it is over HCR 19 which reaffirms our states sovereign duty to nullify actions by the general government in defense of its residents.

The End Of The “We Pay Taxes Too” Argument?

The only way it could ever be equal, is if we all paid the same taxes, and taxpayers paid nothing extra for benefits and retirement; you would have to fund pay all of your share of both at the same rates as the average private citizen.

Wisconsin Gold

In just a few days the unions and democrats gathering in Wisconsin have provided us with a treasure trove. They have bussed in AstroTurf with connections to the White House, backing the big business unions, bearing more Hitler signs in a few miles than since Hilter was alive.
