Under Norelli’s Rule

Guh!?Yesterday Terie Norelli celebrated my Birthday by taking to the pages of the Keene Sentinel to talk about what a great job the New Hampshire democrat party has been doing with the state.  One of the things she’d like you to believe is that they have created (or saved?) a job friendly environment that has allowed the Granite State to recover more quickly than other states.  But is that really true, and do democrats have anything at all to do with it?

It is a matter of fact that under the left New Hampshire has grown the size of state government and its regulatory nature.  They have increased taxes and fees.  While Ms. Norelli opines all the additional regulations they have added to inspire growth in the job market—and thus the economy—this is like someone handing you a tiny cup of water to put out a raging fire they started and then expecting you to thank them.

About the only thing they can claim is having inherited an ages old State formula that used to create jobs and growth.  One they have tinkered with to the point of destruction.  And things are not–as Norelli would like you to believe– heading in the right direction.

Of Mosques and Men…

Guest post from Robert Jursik…

For a man seemingly incapable of going fifteen minutes without saying "Let me be clear," President Obama evidently has an uncanny knack for being  misunderstood.  Following the iftar dinner hosted at the White House Friday night, headlines in every major newspaper in America – and even the New York Times – screamed something similar to "President Backs Ground Zero Mosque."  Within twenty-four hours came the update: "Uhh, no he didn’t."

Now we are told that he actually meant he supports the RIGHT to build a mosque but would not actually comment on the WISDOM of it.  Horse hockey.  The "eloquent" Harvard-trained lawyer-turned-best-selling-author-turned-president knows exactly what he meant: he wants everyone to think he agrees with them.  It should not be that difficult to come down on one side of this question or the other.  The debate we’re seeing in this country now proves that without question.  Given the choice between progressive liberalism and libertarian constitutionalism, I choose…neither.

In fact, I choose – as I always do – conservatism…

They Are That Stupid

Do you have them in Extra-Hypocrite?A bunch of Linden LaRouche democrats show up at Tea Party rallies with Obama Hitler signs and the progressive left tries to blame the Tea Party.  The left has made it public knowledge that they will themselves show up and pretend to be part of the Tea Party movement with racist and insulting signs or comments to prove that the Tea Party is full of racists.  They will be disruptive and destructive.  And now a movement has been announced at NetRoots that encourages the left to tell the Tea Party What you really think about them.  So they are basically going to be themselves in front of regular Americans who are not very happy with democrats right now.

Brilliant!

Over at RedState, Dan Spencer actually received a forwarded Email with the basic instructions for this latest effort against the Tea Party.

“Set aside your good manners, your tolerance, your measured understanding of policy differences, and your earnest do-gooder ideas for a [sic.] just a moment to join me in telling the Tea Party what you really think of them.”

No offense but what good manners?  And tolerance?  What tolerance would that be exactly—that you’ve not devolved into actually killing them, because I’ve seen video of people getting beat up by you guys.  How is this any less tolerant or less well mannered than anything else you and your fellow travelers have tried to perpetrate in the past eighteen months?  Don’t think too hard you’ll hurt yourselves.

Homo Depot

Celebrating DiversityHomo is considered a derogatory term in the gay community (though I beleive Gay Anthropoligists get a pass) so I called up an old friend of mine and asked him for permission to use it.  He’s not an anthropologist if it matters.  He asked why and I told him.  I said, “Home depot promoted the gay lifestyle in a parade of some sort, but at about the same time wouldn’t let a guy who works in one of their stores wear a pin on his apron that said “One Nation under God.” (I’m paraphrasing)

“Frikkin Homos!” He said. (Not paraphrasing)

He is a Christian, and a Patriot, and he’s gay, and he supports the Tea Party, and the military (and he’s not a democrat) and is far more diverse and tolerant, and certainly more equal than those “homo’s” at Homo Depot.  He also asked that I not name him because, and I quote, "some homo might give me s*i* for it if they ever read it and he’s got more of that than he can handle at the moment."

I guess election season has been rough on him.  I don’t know.  He didn’t want to explain it, and to be honest, I didn’t want to know.  Sort of our own little "don’t ask don’t tell policy."

Hodespocrisy–The Max Baucus Edition

Money money money money...Max Baucus, Democrat Senator from Montana, is the chairman of the Senate Finance committee and his Glacier PAC has donated $10,000.00 dollars to Paul Hodes for Senate.  Baucus may be best known for his influence on Health Care reform or Climate change legislation.  But what he should be known for is his relationship with lawyer/staffer Melodee Hanes, (here, here and here) whom he left his wife for, and also nominated for a job as US district attorney from Montana. (then there’s this) Talk about inside baseball.  But banging a staffer, dumping your wife, and then trying to hook-her up with a well paying federal job–even if it is love–demands questions about your core values and integrity so it’s a good thing he’s a democrat.

If Baucus was Mark Sanford for example, the media would have hung him from the pillory by his man-parts and shamed him out of seeking higher office which makes you wonder if Mark Sanford would have faired better if he’d tried to get his Argentinean mistress a job at the State Department?  Buy her a blue dress and hello Oval Office?  I guess we’ll never know, but since Baucus is a powerful Senator and a democrat, everything about it is a non-scandal-scandal to the unbiased media so he was never in any serious danger over that cozy relationship; but should it make Paul Hodes think twice?

Welcome To The Hodespocrisy!

Hodespocrisy.jpg

On July 31st the New Hampshire Democrat Party declared open season on Paul Hodes political PAC money so I’m not wasting any time taking up the challenge.  The challenge?  Find hypocrisy in the donors or the donors to the donors—to Paul Hodes campaign.  Let me tell that it’s no challenge making Mr. Hodes and his NHDP supporters look like hypocrites.  So courtesy of the NHDP’s new ‘rules’ I am pleased to bring you an ongoing series of campaign finance investigations suitably called the Hodespocrisy.

First up is DANPAC, one of nine leadership PAC’s that have given Mr. Hodes $10,000.00 dollars this election cycle.  DANPAC is run by Senator Daniel Inouye, democrat from Hawaii, the chairman of the Senate appropriations committee.  DANPAC has given $10,000.00 to Paul Hodes, which Mr. Hodes has accepted despite glaring contradictions.

Contradictions you ask?  What might they be?

NHDP Cries Hypocrite!

The New Hampshire democrat party–in a typical game of misdirection–is all lathered up about some tenuous connections between Senator Gregg–leaving the Senate, John Sununu–no longer in the Senate, and Kelly Ayotte–not even in the Senate, accepting contributions from two billionaires from Texas who have been charged with securities fraud. The operative word is "charged" not convicted, but the NHDP is already calling them ‘Hypocrites.‘ They are hypocrites for compaining about Hodes and his Rangel cash, while the GOPers apparently have taken "thousands of dollars" of their own. Remember the word "Thousands" as we try to take a look at the cry babies complaint.

Hodes is on the hook for what $13 to $17K from a guy who wrote tax law, while violating tax law, and using his postion to enrich himself at the expense of the people he was representing. Rangel was dirty before Hodes hit the House, but Hodes still took his money. He took, tens of thousands of dollars from Rangel. And that’s just Rangel. Hodes has other dirty money but let’s stay focused for now.

And what about those "billionaires?" Sam and Chuck Wyly are "under investigation" by the SEC for securities fraud. And apparently back on March 31st 2003, one of them (Charles) gave Judd Gregg $3000– back in 2003. That is ‘thousands’ but it’s what, seven years ago? (Link may not work) Make another mental note.

The NYT article announcing the investigation of the billionaires just came out on July 29th, 2010. It’s been two days and the NHDP is crying about a 3000.00 dollar donation from seven years ago. (I was lucky to get that info by the way.) Still with me?

There’s loads more fun on the jump.

A.D.D.D (Revisited)

Sing...Sing a song....Sing out loud....

[[Given the recent noise from progressives about unemployment extensions (not just the payments but the joblessness) I thought I’d revisit a post I wrote back in March, the last time we went through this—because to be honest, it still applies.]]

A.D.D.D

There’s this liberal talking point, it’s spin actually, that anyone who does not disown Jim Bunning is an obstructionist.  It is founded on the premise that the Senator was against extending unemployment benefits.  The meme therefore goes; if you do not scold Jim Bunning you hate people who are unemployed and should burn in hell.

This is a natural extension of all the other mutually exclusive applications of association that elitist, finger-wagging, dimwitted, left wing spin doctors and their blindfolded parrot-like familiars shout from the rooftops of foreclosed homes.  It’s the same one that makes all white, heterosexual Christian, men, racist -globalist- misogynistic robber barons, and lets liberals try to escape the hypocrisy of ignoring the behavior of violent liberal bigots and hate mongers while whining about right wing complicity with all the winsome air of finger nails following Obama’s declining popularity down to the bottom of the chalkboard.

Got Hate?

In another round of "Who’s Really Got the Hate" liberals win again. This time the liberal hate comes from a producer for an NPR program called "Left, Right, and Center" from affiliate KCRW.  (It’s NPR so it’s more likley Far left, Left, and Mostly left.") In todays example a member of the impartial media comments … Read more

The Potemkin Congressman

Hey you...smell my finger.

Paul Hodes, or more likely someone writing as Paul Hodes, took to the safe confines of the Daily Kos to pretend the CD-2 congressman and soon to be private citizen is in fact a vertebrate.  That is to say, he went to the socilist progressive locker room to talk smack about the opposing team.

That alone speaks volumes.

So here’s an excerpt, (original KoS Kontent here)

“I’m sick and tired of Democrats getting weak knees every time the right-wing media flexes their muscles.”

And every time we respond to their attacks with weak knees and cowering in the corner, we give them credibility. Even worse – we encourage them to keep it up. When faced with a bully, we progressives should stand and fight – not run and hide.

Bully? Stand and Fight? Bwahahahahaha!

Carol-(S)Care

Carol-Care Meets RealityIndependent voices might have some expectation of doing independent things.  Things like reading legislation or accessing resources outside the ones the people desperately selling a bill want you to stick to.  That kind of open mindedness would go a long way to demonstrating integrity and responsibility.  Or you could be Carol Shea Porter.

Carol sold Health Care reform as instructed.  She shifted gears as instructed, spun when asked, and followed the talking points all the way to the bitter end like a clumsy dancer following on the fly choreography.

But now that the reality of what she has done is upon us, it sure would have been nice to have an independent voice instead Carol Shea-Porter.

Shabazz!

samir shabazz
samir shabazz

If we were to do a documentary on the New Hampshire Democrat Party we could call it Shabazz!

Shabazz!

It’s a story about a bunch of mostly pasty white liberal crackers in a left wing political party and their fun dysfunctional family-like foibles as they endlessly play the race, hate, and bigot cards for political gain while calling any objection to their polices a smear campaign. But one day, while funneling out of state gay-activist money through in-state PACs (and into their own greedy little hands) they are confronted with actual hate and racism from someone associated with their own party named Shabazz. They institute an immediate media blackout, making sure there is no commentary to be found anywhere from any of them on a matter of actual hate and racism.

Carol Shea Porter…On Veterans

Carol Shea-Porter has always claimed to have some kind of commitment to the troops.  And you don’t have to look far to find some suitable rhetoric on veterans either.  But when CSP voted to maul health care, and then later deemed it passed so she wouldn’t actually have to go on the record again supporting … Read more

Carol…On Helping Small Business

Even as a child, Carol could not keep the train on the tracks

Carol’s good work keeps on rolling in like the smell of low tide on a salty breeze.  Maybe you recall that five ream masterpiece of brevity appropriately mislabeled as health care reform?  Well it came fully equipped with a manifold of other disasters buried inside, one of which was that anyone with business income will have to issue a 1099 for every entity with whom they spend $600.00 or more in goods and services in a calendar year.  And you thought the Health care Castration Bill wasted paper?

This creates several problems for small business the biggest of which is the regulatory burden of having to deal with all that extra paperwork.   It will take more time and cost more money just to comply with the rules ‘deemed’ by Section 9006 of Carol-Care.  That amounts to millions  more dollars in lost productivity on left wing busy work that Carol and her ilk have now released from America’s employment engine and diverted into the ice-rimmed, bottomless, suck-hole of the bureaucracy.

So how does that play against Carol’s rhetoric?  Not well.

More Charter Schools?

The Sunday Telegraph is heralding their governors signing of HB 1495, a bill that authorizes more Charter Schools in New Hampshire. It’s a glowing report about a state executive committed to educational opportunities until you get to paragraph six where the governors true motivations are revealed. We’ll Have A Gay Old Time

It should be common knowledge that Governor Lynch attended a secret gay-donor confab in Chicago back in May.  But no one was supposed to know.  I got wind of it when I received an article from the Washington Blade questioning the secrecy. (A repost of that blog can be found here)  Only two months later, it is finally showing up locally at the Keene Sentinel.

Of course the Sentinel seemed more concerned with the group and our governor’s evolution on the issue; his shift from what they call ambivalence to outward embrace of gay marriage.  But why not report this meaningful embrace back in May when it happened?  It seems like he could have used a lift after that beating he took from the National Organization for Marriage.  Was it too secret an embrace?  So secret that the no one wanted it known?  Was Governor Lynch afraid to come out of the gay donor closet?

He was, and for good reason.

Lynch’s Missing 18 minutes

John Lynch Goes Gay (Sort Of)

(Note: This was originally posted on May 28th at NH Insider. It is being re-posted here as an encore presentation, by request.)

John Lynch Goes Gay (Sort Of)

The Ray and Kathy Show has this gag they do all the time where they complain about outside money or special interests on the right affecting local elections.  It’s a serious gas because everyone knows it’s actually a projection upon others of their own involvement with deep-pocketed outside interests with which they then exert pressure upon the local worker bees doing the Yeoman’s work at hiding their radical left wing agenda.  But they think it works so we try to play along.   Case in point: Governor John “Liar” Lynch was recently taken to task for saying one thing and doing another on the not uncontroversial subject of same sex marriage.  Lynch flip flopped and plenty of us asked if someone put the thumb screws on our diminutive chief executive.

No, no.  Lynch is his own man concerned about equality and civil rights, Blah blah blah.

Enter into the debate this article by Lou Chibbaro Jr. from The Washington Blade, which bills itself as "the lgbtq community resource."  The article is titled, “Rare Peek behind closed doors of secret gay donor confab.”  In the article Lou Chibbaro jr reveals for us the internal happenings at an event on May 15th to May 16th (just two weeks ago).  It’s was..

Harry Reid’s Innocent Victims

They are making hay and BS sandwiches over at Boo-Hoo Hampshire, this time about the latest unemployment benefits stalemate.   Dean Barker–the Boo Hoo Guru–had begun by waxing on the CBS news coverage on the latest unemployment extension debate when he decided to lament (or perhaps invent) 30 years of GOP policy crushing the little guy, and how even now they are somehow still pulling the levers to crush them even more.  No I’m serious.

But the best part is the “Boo-Hoo” hook.

The innocent victims, Mr. and Ms. Joe Taxpayer, won’t get what they need to stay solvent.  And nearly one of ten of them can’t find work.  And that’s not counting the vast underemployed.

The innocent victims!  Well what about that?
