Reading that one Moira O’Neal believes and stated that “being a parent is a privilege” just kind of makes my blood boil. Parenthood is a responsibility but O’Neal’s statement implies that even that can be taken away by any bureaucrat’s whim.

Heartbroken in Croydon
At most of the school board meetings that have followed the recent right-sizing of Croydon’s school budget, at least one parent has expressed a thought that simply breaks my heart:

A local district in Vermont had its school budget fail by 60 votes. They blamed it on low voter turnout, which they blamed on vote-by-mail. The ability to vote by mail resulted in low turnout which put the kibosh on the budget.
