Doubt him? If you are angry at that, or the title, start reviewing the standardized test scores in large, decades long controlled, Democrat stronghold cities. Go ahead, just name ONE in which more than 50% of students are rated as “Proficient”.
You can’t. And the reason is Teachers Unions. They demand higher and higher wages, demand more control of a district, and then blame the kids when taxpayers say “Enough – do better, first!”.
Detroit is almost 40% functionally illiterate. Not the kids – the entire population! But will the right people hold their hands up and say “yeah, I’m responsible for this”? Of course not.
But Parents, more and more, understand why. No or sub-par education means little to no success later in life. I’ve posted multiple times about one such city – Baltimore. Only 13% of 4th graders tested at grade level (Proficient) or better. That means, for the arithmetic challenged, that 87% of students CAN NOT READ.
Democrat run city. Democrat controlled School Board. Teacher Union skews heavily Democrat / Socialist. They’re getting paid.
Kids get squat.
