There are many defenders of Mr. Obama’s Iran deal, most of them Democrats. A deal that gave the Mullah’s moolah, and unearned legitimacy. When Donald Trump reversed that deal the Washington Political establishment snapped. The usual suspects, the press, pundits, politicians, went nuclear.
Thanksgiving is over – now you may begin!
For decades, I have never allowed TMEW to start in on Christmas until AFTER Thanksgiving Day is over. I’ve been known to walk into a store to get something on my “current shopping list” only to walk right out when I saw Christmas sales – in October. Not gonna do it. Now you may proceed; … Read more
Chris Sununu is Destroying the Republican Party
This from Governor Sununu’s “Policy Director”: “Voluntary,” “financially solvent” – sounds just like private insurance, which begs the question: If it is possible to have a “Paid Family Leave plan” that is “voluntary” and “financially solvent,” then why isn’t such a product already available to employees through private insurers? Because “Paid Family Leave” covers situations … Read more
What Would Happen Under Martial Law In The United States?
By Sam Bocetta
Martial law is a subject that many people have heard about but far fewer actually understand. Truth be told, most people don’t understand just how serious of a situation martial law is or what it would entail should it ever be declared on a city-wide, state-wide, or national scale. In this article, we’ll dive into what martial law is, when and why it would be declared by the government, and what would happen if it were ever to be declared.
What Is Martial Law?
To put it simply, martial law is defined as the suspension of ordinary law and the imposition of direct government (and almost always military) control over the population. In other words, the government will act as the courts and the police all at once, and they will use the military and law enforcement to enforce whatever they should decree. If when you think of the term ‘martial law’ you also think of tanks rolling through your streets and National Guard or military units swarming in and setting up checkpoints left and right, that’s honestly not too far off from what martial law would look like.

London Bans Obesity “Assault Food” Ads on All Public Transportation
Despite being one of those “Gun-Free zones” London has more murders than New York City. So, what should we expect from their new Junk Food Ad Ban? Well, London’s response to their murder problem led to a knife ban. Perhaps banning food altogether is the answer? Related: How Long Before Cutlery Stores Are Treated Like … Read more
MI6 Pleads with Trump: Don’t Declassify “Collusion” Docs
British Intelligence was in on the plot to spy on Trump (and cover it up with the Collusion narrative). That’s been clear for some time. The one thing that might disprove that is declassification of the documents relating to the FISA warrants. The interviews that lead to the spying. But MI6 doesn’t want them declassified. Arctic Sea Ice, and Google’s Search Results “Reality”
The Danish Meteorological Institute’s most recent data shows Arctic Sea Ice Extent rapidly approaching the 1981-2000 mean. Rapidly. But if you Google “Arctic Sea ice 2018” you will find a series of headlines on the subject of the 2018 arctic minimum. I didn’t search the annual arctic minimum. In the absence of other details “minimum” was … Read more
Be thankful for Capitalism’s Abundance and the Charity it allows
Kevin Williams has a very thoughtful piece on Capitalism for yesterday’s Day of Thanksgiving. While not directly thanking God (which the Pilgrims did on that day back in 1623), he confronts the wave of Socialism that reared it’s ugly head on November 6 and does a nice job of defending it when most cannot stand against the “kindness” onslaught of those believing that Government directed economies (Socialism, Communism) and behaviors are VERY MUCH superior to customer / individual self-directed choices (Capitalism). In part (reformatted, emphasis mine):
There is a part of the Christian tradition that relates charitable giving to the Seventh Commandment, which is the prohibition on theft. The idea is that the world and all that it contains are God’s gift to corporate mankind — “the universal destination of goods,” in theological jargon — so that the man with two coats holds one of them unjustly when his neighbor shivers in the cold with no coat at all. Private property, in this understanding, is instrumental in promoting the common good, but it does not supersede the primordial gift.
There is great grace and goodness and wisdom in that. But it simply assumes the existence of coats and coat factories, the vast and incomprehensibly complex apparatus of coat-production that incorporates materials, effort, and intelligence from people all over the world, coordinating the efforts of men and women who do not speak the same languages, share the same religion, reside in the same countries, or even know of one another’s existence — from goose farmers to computer programmers to chemical engineers.
Data Point: cost of Thanksgiving dinner for 10, 1986-2018
The American Farm Bureau Federation’s 33rd annual survey of classic items found on the Thanksgiving Day dinner table indicates the average cost of this year’s feast for 10 is $48.90, or less than $5.00 per person. This is a 22-cent decrease from last year’s average of $49.12. “Since 2015, the average cost of Thanksgiving dinner … Read more
If You Went Back in Time and Convinced Obama’s Mother to Get an Abortion…
If you went back in time and convinced Obama’s mother to get an abortion, would that be a life? If we didn’t know a thing. He never runs for office. We miss the soaring Rhetoric. No “first Black President.” None of it. If abortion was then what it is today, no Obama. Related: NARAL says Restricting Abortion Access … Read more
Update on my latest Andrew Yang post – NH State Rep Katherine “Go ahead, I know you want to hit me” Rogers
Here, that gives more on Andrew Yang‘s American surveillance program (even if it is for “good”, that’s a lot of surveillance and data gathering by Government). Well, like I said, I wanted to talk with his campaign. Lo and behold, when I went to his Contact Us page, who visage greeted me right away? That’s right! … Read more
Update: “once untrustworthy, always restricted” – the Communist Chinese policy that Prez wannabe Democrat Andrew Yang wants implement in the US
Actually, that’s not the name of my post but that quote above is a better description,”once untrustworthy, always restricted”, of the “Social Trust” system that China is building. I’ve got a few links for you to read, with pull quotes, to give you the jist of the system that Andrew Yang want to do here in the US. No limited government he – as I said in my previous post, Yang wants a US surveillance system that would make the feared East German secret police, who had binders on EVERYONE, look like slackers. It’s bad enough to have thousands of CCTV cameras on city streets and RFID transceivers all along our highways. It’s bad enough to have the FAANGS (e.g., Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix, Google) pouring over and hoovering up our personal data (and having just signed up for Social Security, I now have a glimpse of the “teeniest, tiny-est tip of the iceburg” information the Feds gather to “verify that you are you”).
Naw, Andrew Yang wants the US to establish its own “trustworthy score” for everyone in the US – yet the nine black robed judges said that we (well, at least pregnant women) have the privacy to kill our babies? And other “intimate” acts? How does one adjudicate the two – and worse, who decides algorithmically what is “moral” and what isn’t and then place scores on us all?
Here are the links – read them (reformatted, emphasis mine):
Surprise! – Ann Kuster Backs Nancy Pelosi for Speaker of the House
I’d like to say we told you so and I will. Ann Kuster is backing Nancy Pelosi for Speaker of the US House. Kuster was always going to do that. We told you that. The Negon campaign told you. And when it came time to choose, Kuster did exactly what we said she would. Related: Nine … Read more
Paris Accord Leads to Paris Discord As Mobs Protest Fuel Taxes
I’m not going to pretend that I get the nuance of the politics in France. But President Macron has instituted some new fuel taxes to save the planet, and a growing movement has risen to protest those taxes. This is, of course, France. I can recall any number of times in my life when I’ve … Read more
And college students believe Thanksgiving is RACIST!
A way to destroy a nation is to destroy or warp its norms, its culture… …and its history. Change them and you’ve changed the culture – and the nation. But there seems to be a few that are catching on and going “whoa, wait a sec!” (H/T: The Blaze)
“Thanksgiving Must Be Abolished”
This from Michael Walsh made my Thanksgiving Day. Just about every SJW talking point and attitude is roundly roasted and pickled! I had only quickly glanced at the headline and went “right, just another screed from someone that hates Thanksgiving” and was about to pass it by – glad I didn’t. Wrong – just read it:
Thanksgiving Must Be Abolished
Around this time every year we are treated to multiple news articles explaining how we ought to deal with our racist conservative relatives at Thanksgiving. These articles, in my opinion, miss the point entirely. We shouldn’t be dealing with our racist conservative relatives at Thanksgiving dinner at all because we shouldn’t be having a Thanksgiving dinner in the first place.
Thanksgiving is a patriarchal ritual in which white men and their subjugated marital slaves commemorate the mass execution of Indigenous People by consuming the living flesh of innocent animals. It is frankly shocking that any decent person still celebrates this “holiday” in 2018, but I suppose that’s to be expected. Most people today have a cartoonish idea of history. If they had a more mature and nuanced perspective they would realize that the pilgrims were a bunch of thieving, genocidal, disease-ridden, smallpox-toting demons who accomplished nothing of value whatsoever. You might say they established and built a civilization, which, hey, is kind of neat. But so what? What has this civilization ever done for me besides give me everything?
Dem Prez Candidate Andrew Yang wants the Feds to be more like China in watching EVERYTHING we do.
Andrew Yang wants to be the Democrat nominee for President and it is really clear that he’s all in on the idea of “who needs God when you’ve got Government” (aka, bastardizing the Christian Doxology of “Praise God from whom all blessings flow”). This guy from New York is already in on UBI (Universal Basic Income, along with a European style Value Added Tax of 10% to pay for it) where the Government just prints us all a check for about a grand a month because robots are going to be taking our jobs. Yep, crawl onto the dole on the magnificent sum of $12K a year – such a bountiful life that amount would yield (anyone for Serf City?).
But there’s a much more insidious plank he’s running on, this candidate from the People’s Republic of NY and it should give anyone a real pause as to what he believes is The Proper Role of Government. No, it’s not straight outta Compton, but it is directly out of the Chinese Communist Party’s surveillance machine / real time “reeducation camp” idea of good governance. I think this line from the American Thinker sets the stage well:
Leftists always insist that their proposals for socialism will be nothing like what’s found in communist hellholes way down the rapids to the falls. But somehow, the opening ideas are always the same.

Lawsuit – Medical Marijuana Users Want to Keep Second Amendment Rights
A Philadelphia doctor, licensed to prescribe medical marijuana was denied the right to purchase a handgun because he is a medical marijuana user himself. “Although Roman has “no other record of violence, criminal activity, or mental disorder,” according to the suit, when he went to purchase the handgun, a clerk informed him that his status as a medical … Read more
“Poll Finds Many Americans Hope To Avoid Political Discussions At Thanksgiving”
Yeah, that would not be we Groksters:
Few Americans are eager to mix politics and turkey this Thanksgiving. A mere 15 percent are looking forward to having political discussions, while 40 percent hope to avoid talking about politics over Thanksgiving dinner. There are still 45 percent who don’t care either way…Thirty-seven percent of Republicans and 40 percent of Democrats wish to avoid political discussions this Thanksgiving — a somewhat rare instance of partisan agreement. Forty-two percent of Independents said that they hope to avoid politics.
This year it won’t be a “problem” as the Eldest and his family have ventured south to have Thanksgiving with the Daughter-in-Law’s family this year. Thus, TMEW, the Grandson, and I will be heading to the local “Turkey Farm” restaurant for our meal (depending on the cold because it’s first come, first served and there’s generally a line out the door for a couple of hours – thankfully they normally put up a large heated tent for the waiting overflow). So, no other family to “upset”.
