Want To End Federal Corruption?

Power is the fuel of corruption. Do you think that corruption, fraud and abuse at the federal level are a serious problem? Are lobbyists and bureaucrats the movers of the levers of power? Do you think the current system undermines the will of the people while at the same time growing the bank accounts of … Read more

BlogQuestion of the Day -Why not the more important one, too?

Professor Glenn links here to a College Fix article questioning the legality of having the abortifacient “Plan B” available on college campuses. What I want to know is given the spurious but oft-unchallenged statistic that 20% of all college women are “rape victims”, why aren’t rape kits (also OTC) available in the same machine? Given that gawd-awful statistic that … Read more

Election Results Won’t Change If The Faces Don’t

By the mid-term elections how is it possible that Muslim terrorist attacks in the U.S. ceased, the GDP reached 4.1%, wages went up, the stock market went up “bigly”, NATO was induced to pay its way, North Korea stopped launching missiles, bonuses were given out to workers, overall unemployment declined, Hispanic unemployment went down, black … Read more

“Education is key to continued liberty”

By Chuck Douglas [NOTE: Former NH Supreme Court Justice Douglas points out something that I’ve been saying (along with a lot of other people) for quite some time; bolded below from his address at the Josiah Bartlett Libertas dinner, reformatted, emphasis mine  -Skip] More than Josiah Bartlett’s biography is the fact that he and the … Read more

Integrity Is A Cornerstone of Character

Earlier this month Kamala Harris, now California Senator Harris, said she had no knowledge of harassment allegations against her top aide Larry Wallace. The situation the allegations arose from occurred while she was serving as state Attorney General (AG). Now, the Sacramento Bee (Bee) reports the California Department of Justice (CDoJ), the agency she oversaw, … Read more

David Scannell Manchester School Board

Manchester Ward 2 School Board Member David Scannell Broke the Law – is a Double Standard Developing?

The “I didn’t know” defense? “There isn’t a member of this board that does not know that when a legal action is threatened against the board it is a confidential matter,” said Girard. “And the leaking of that letter divulged the very information I was accused of divulging.” A motion to have school district attorneys investigate … Read more

Socialism - Power over people

Notable Quote – Richard Fernandez

The elite wanted a world without God and they got it. Andrew Sullivan argues that with the decline of traditional religions the godless world has embraced political cults.  They are finding the resulting world an uncongenial place. Everyone has a religion. It is, in fact, impossible not to have a religion if you are a human being. … Read more

Which Side Are You On Boy…

America’s founders designed a system of government with a defined role for each of three branches: legislative, executive, and judicial. The system works when each branch operates as it was designed. Unfortunately, at this point it is not working very well because we the people have allowed the creation of a fourth, unelected and unaccountable … Read more

James Comey

Comey Doth Protest Too Much… Methinks (Part 2 of 2)

Fired Former FBI Director Comey’s testimony about FBI leaks to the press is at odds with his sworn statements from his former deputy, Andrew McCabe. We know Comey met with Trump on several occasions assuring him that he was not the subject of an FBI investigation. This happened amid mysterious leaks to the press that Trump was, in fact, part of the probe. We now know he made sure that his memos about his meetings with Trump were leaked to the press. His explanation of his behavior is that it was designed to force the appointment of a special counsel. But the question  should be asked whether it actually was to deflect scrutiny from his own improper actions?

A number of high-ranking FBI officials during Comey’s tenure were either been fired, forced to resign, retired, or were reassigned; some cases resulting from accusations of improper conduct or bias. Andrew McCabe was assigned by Comey to oversee the Clinton email scandal. Comey knew or should have known McCabe’s wife had run for a seat in the Virginia state Senate. It was a matter of public record she received help of nearly $500,000 in campaign contributions from a PAC associated with the Clintons. One would have thought the appearance of impropriety, conflict of interest, should have been obvious at the time, most especially is such a high profile and politically charged matter.

Obamacare Ruled Unconstitutional

U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor in Fort Worth agreed with a coalition of states led by Texas that he had to rule the Affordable Care Act unconstitutional after Congress last year removed a key provision, the tax penalty for not complying with the requirement to buy insurance. The judge sided with the administration in declaring … Read more

NoLabels is Back – Selling the Same Stale Bottle of Piss as Some Political Cure-All

Last week the Union Leader republished an opinion piece by the Founder of NoLabels, Nancy Jacobson. We get one of these at the UL every year, sometimes twice. Nancy, or whoever gets the byline, goes on about the “political divide.” Look at those radicals on the left and right. Scary stuff. But not to worry. We’re here for you.

Except they are not here for you. They are here for them. Proof?

Breaking News: Texas Judge rules Obamacare unconstitutional.

Hardest hit: Women and children, Poor,  Legacy of Obama

Breaking: Obamacare ruled unconstitutional by Texas judge – here’s what he said

A judge in Texas ruled Obamacare unconstitutional in light of Congress passing a budget that excised the mandate from the original legislation. U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor in Fort Worth said that the Affordable Care Act passed under the aegis of former President Barack Obama became unconstitutional after the budget passed by Republicans that cut out the tax penalty for not purchasing insurance….Texas and nineteen other states argued that the U.S. Supreme Court had found the healthcare legislation constitutional on the basis of the existence of the mandate. Once the mandate was eradicated by Congress, they claimed, that completely undermined the constitutionality of the bill.

Judge O’Connor agreed with that reasoning Friday.
