A recent New York Times article does not paint a pretty picture of Planned Parenthood (PP). No, not baby parts, babies and their pregnant mothers. Employees report mistreatment from day-to-day consideration to promotions and demotions related to pregnancy. Women also said they were afraid to tell supervisors they were pregnant for fear of mistreatment.
And no, Planned Parenthood does not provide paid maternity leave according to the article.
“at Planned Parenthood, the country’s leading provider of reproductive services, managers in some locations declined to hire pregnant job candidates, refused requests by expecting mothers to take breaks and in some cases pushed them out of their jobs after they gave birth, according to current and former employees in California, Texas, North Carolina and New York.”
Most Planned Parenthood offices do not provide paid maternity leave, though many let new mothers take partially paid disability leave.
How do Democrats, Democrat women, in particular, feel about this? They’ve been milking the abortion equals women’s healthcare narrative for years. We know it’s all messaging rubbish. But these women, possibly pregnant with a future generation of women. Can’t get what amounts to “care” for their ‘Health’ and that of their baby from an institution that the Left lionizes as a Women’s Health Care Mecca?
And wait for it. Part of the problem is money.
A private, global, billion dollar company, that receives hundreds of millions in taxpayer handouts, can’t find the funds to provide paid maternity leave for an act that is, by definition Planned Parenthood.
