GrokTV Event: Cornerstone Action presents Dr. Jennifer Morse on Traditional Marriage for NH Part 1 & 2

This past Monday night, Cornerstone Action held a lecture at St. Anselm College’s Institute of Politics that featured Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse of the Ruth Institute (“Making Marriage Cool”).  The title of her talk was “Making the case for Traditional Marriage for New Hampshire“.  A crowd of about 150 people filled just about every seat in the auditorium and she gave them their money’s worth with a long and idea filled discussion of the benefits to traditional marriage vs homosexual marriage.

This is Part 1 of her talk:

By the way, it seems that GLAAD thinks that she is a VERY dangerous person (among a bunch of other conservative / traditional marriage supporters) and is now trying to shut her down.

Part 2 is after the jump:

Hmmm…. This is interesting….

Here’s a map of the states that went for Kerry in the 2004 Presidential election (the blue ones), and the ones that went for Bush (the red ones).

The map is from an article in The American Spectator   HERE, by William Tucker. In the second paragraph, Tucker quotes a Wall Street Journal article that says “all those blue states that went for Kerry in 2004 are going to go for Obama again this year. The only possible exception is New Hampshire now the wealthiest state in the country, believe it or not….

Hello? New Hampshire is “now the wealthiest state in the country”? Yep. Want to know why? I think I know why….

U.S. Marines Asked to Leave Weapons Outside When Panetta Visits

“The chief lesson I have learned in a long life is that the only way you can make a man trustworthy is to trust him; and the surest way to make him untrustworthy is to distrust him.”  —Henry L. Stimson Fox News Reports that U.S. Marines at Camp Leatherneck were asked to disarm when Secretary … Read more

Who Wants Partial Birth Abortion?

The New Hampshire House voted to ban partial birth abortion today (HB 1679).  For those unfamiliar, Partial birth abortion is exactly what the term infers.  The baby is partially born before its abortionist-induced termination.  What this actually is, is abortion at birth, and if it was done without consent, even liberals would call it murder.  But for the left, and more than a few very confused people on the near-right, the thinking here is that the child is not yet a person, a definition which is irrelevant if that same child is wanted by the mother, and an execution when preformed by the government on any other “person” against their will.  Something future babies may yet have to contend with.

Surviving birth is no longer, necessarily, the last opportunity for an abortion.  A pair of Oxford “ethicists,” who clearly would not object to partial birth abortion, recently arrived at the conclusion that infants are not people either.

Isn’t it Time We Enforced the State’s IT Policies

Democrats like to manage society, ever more so when they believe it has misbehaved.  So here’s an idea the left ought to embrace with both left arms.

Because it is against state policy to use state computers for activities outside their intranet, like reading online news or–heaven forbid whiling the day away commenting on news portals like the Concord Monitor while on the taxpayers payroll–why hasn’t one of the states IT guru’s blocked all those IP’s from within the states network?  (We know they have not.)

The policy is very clear yet the system is left open to abuse.  So is this trust that the government is extending to state employees, something its leftist advocates are loath to offer to regular citizens on a wide range of things.   Well, that trust has been broken.

Democrat Support for Obama Waning?

Way back when anyone cared, if at all, Burger King used to run commercials in which people at Burger King would look into the camera and say they like the Whopper better than the Big Mac.  To anyone paying attention to the “small print” it became clear what the context was.  People who go to … Read more

The Reality of Progressive Intimidation

What you should take away from the Rush Limbaugh fracas, other than that aside from the choice of words, he was right.

First, advertisers who initially abandoned Rush Limbaugh are afraid of the left.  They are afraid that the party of big government will come at them with all their resources to undermine whatever it is they do.  So they cannot be trusted to stand up for free markets or capitalism.  Plain and simple.  They will never defend freedom of speech or the right of association.

Chevy Volt vs. Health Care

Just a passing observation about the Chevy Volt. It is not a Green vehicle unless by ‘Green’ you mean that it runs by burning through money.  After all, who can actually  afford a $45,000.00 automobile, even with a $7,000.00 dollar taxpayer funded incentive?   The vehicle is barely functional as an electric car, taking longer to … Read more

UNH – More Hypocrisy & Politicking…with your tax dollars.

The problem with UNH is…it’s filled with progressives, and they love to waste your money.  (Just look at the NH House from 2007-2010.)

If UNH isn’t shoveling  federal dollars on cow fart research  to Obama supporter and NH Democrat Party check writer Gary Herschberg, then it is busy paying professors like Ed “Flash” Larkin to do nothing for a few years on the taxpayer dime. (Original comments on that here and here.)

So why should we be surprised to see the University that cried poor expending labor and resources to maintain a Facebook page titled “UNH Presidents Commission on the Status of Women?”  Can you guess the political slant of the content this page is “sharing” with the world?

I’m sure it’s hard to imagine but it’s….a little bit to the left.

The latest RLCNH Report shows great legislative strides within reach in Concord

The latest RLCNH Report is out. It shows that New Hampshire is in many ways leading the entire United States in rejecting the “Blue State” European-socialist model. Just look at some of the issues being voted upon by the State House of Representatives this week, starting at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow (Wednesday) in regular session:

  • A bill to enforce Article 2(a) of the New Hampshire State Constitution, allowing any lawful citizen to carry a sidearm either concealed or openly “wherever they have the right to be, with or without a license., a right protected in the U.S. and N.H. Constitutions.” (Statists hate and fear the inalienable right to self-defense. They don’t think normal citizens are capable or “authorized” to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights.)
  • A bill to help break the stranglehold that public employee union monopolies have created, because “public sector unionization has become unsustainable to the point that many public sector employees now make more in pay and benefits than their private-sector counterparts. (Union monopolies should not exist in government employment. That’s simple, straightforward, and true.)
  • More!

It’s Town election season here in NH – and teachers are being closely looked at: If Bedford teachers want to leave, let them go

Data Point – Obama approval rating slumps badly

From Rassmussen: At one point a little while ago, I was beginning to worry about a Republican enthusiasm gap as this metric very much was starting to trend in Obama’s favor.  As you can see, the green line show Democrat favorability for Obama (red is strongly dislike).  While recent events seem to have excited his … Read more

Misogyny by the Left – a lack of consistency shown by Obama and other Democrats

Obama (President), Debbie Wasserman-Shultz (Head of the DNC), and other Democrat luminaries all went after Rush Limbaugh’s remarks concerning Sandra Fluke.  Oh, the horribleness of it all!  Such uncivility of it all – how could he!  And then proceeded to paint ALL Republicans, implicitly or explictly, with the same paint brush.  Next step was the … Read more

BLESS those Concord truth-tellers! Media stupidity/bias in NH on display!

Here's where to get the truth about happenings in New Hampshire's state government

New Hampshire Liberal Media Bias in Action

(We conservatives and libertarians have long known that the “lamestream media” has a statist, leftward bent. Reasons? Collective “groupthink,” a need to please-and-entertain, government-dependent (and therefore Democrat-oriented) urban readerships, journalism schools peddling and enforcing statist propaganda…they all share blame for the lies. And it always seems to appear most obviously where they claim “neutrality”. Ohhhh yeah….like CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times, the Washington Post. “Neutral.” Filled with lies, of course. And it happens right here in New Hampshire, where you’d they know better (our population is far more politically astute than most, and thus it’s harder to get by with “story-telling” masquerading as fact). Two articles from two newspapers today illustrate the problem….)

Well, Elizabeth Warren, you wrote your own rule book…..
