More blithering from Andy Martin who is running as a Republican in NH’s First Congressional District. He generally thinks he’s a big deal in the races he enters but generally ends up, in real life and in the real results, as a zero. But he’s well known by the inside-politics people and pretty much, everyone knows he’s gonna sue somebody at sometime for something. Let’s look at this first:

Maura Sullivan – carpetbagging from Illinois, using props from Massachusetts, to run a race in NH by being anti-gun
Democrat Socialist Maura Sullivan is running to be the Democrat nominee for NH CD-1. She flew in from DC after growing up in Illinois; even NH Democrats are upset about having their own mini-Me-Hillary-style carpetbagger. Many folks are writing about her latest ad and so are we (here and here).
The point of this point is to point out the “weapon” that Sullivan wants you to believe is an actual “weapon of war” that she used in Iraq (while serving in a Supply/Logistics role). EXACTLY like what she had in Iraq. Nonsense on a stick.
I continue to get Stuff – this time, the NHFC candidate survey itself
Actually, have had it for a while – and from a number of candidates that were rather peeved at it. Good thing – unless I was looking in the wrong place (always an option!), I couldn’t find it myself anywhere on the NHFC site. I thought that rather ironic that a gun group demanding openness and transparency from candidates on their views of the Right to Keep And Bear Arms wouldn’t allow others to see the survey that is getting so much talk (and not in a good way). I remind you to look at the above image and see Alan Rice’s declaration (he’s the head honcho and responsible for this fiasco) that if you don’t answer this you are automatically anti-gun. Some little tin-pot tyrant, IMHO, making the demand “PAY ATTENTION TO ME OR ELSE!!!”.
What a putz (I can send you my “Joys of Yiddish” if you want, Alan Rice, to understand what that means. Yiddish is such a wonderful language for times such as this). I, however, digress.
What follows is the actual survey that was sent out to the candidates. However, other than the inflated ego demand on full display, I did see something that was missing – something very important.

To date, we have only issued one endorsement: Steve Negron running to represent New Hampshire from NH’s Second Congressional District (“CD-2”). Today, we add another.
While all writers have the freedom to endorse anyone they want as individuals, official GraniteGrok endorsements require a majority of all of the writers voting (not everyone votes). While we may all “read” the same on the issues, we do vary on candidates and sometimes “enthusiastically” (behind closed email/Slack doors). Most of our endorsements are contested – some of them highly so. Over the years, GraniteGrok has made it part of our Citizen Journalism to cover debates. One reason is that we like listening (and critiquing) who was there, what was said, and to determine their political philosophies with respect to the NH Constitution, US Constitution, and to date, the NH GOP. We did debates, and covered them in unique ways, that the mainstream press just couldn’t or wouldn’t. Part of the later is either just a lack of time (on TV News) or space (newspaper “inches” or word counts. We, on the other hand, have neither limitation.
We also covered debates that they didn’t – they (and often the NH GOP) are only interested in the top of the ticket races: Governor, US Congress, US Senate. The other races?
Pound sand. Well, no longer. I’ve been yakking about taking GraniteGrok to the “next” level – debates will be part of that. While we will still cover other folks’ debates, we believe it is time to do our own. And we shall.

Democrat candidate for Congress in NH CD-1 Maura Sullivan is lying by omission, IMHO, by making it sound like she was in the thick of things in Fallujah – in the Infantry and using “US Marines” as a buttress from being confronted on it. Michael Graham from NH Journal goes on Cam & Co to talk about how this Democrat candidate for Congress (and carpetbagger bringing in YUGE amounts of out of state $$$ in doing so) Maura Sullivan is trying conflate the most popular civilian rifle platform with an actual military firearm – KNOWING the difference between the two is vast. Once again, a gun grabber is campaigning on taking away, we who are law-abiding citizens, our legally purchased firearms.

Ah yes, Alan Rice of the NH Firearms Coalition (“NHFC”) is starting to feel some heat. Like I said before, if you want to judge candidates for office (either newbies just running for the first time or those that have proven voting / legislative histories) simply because they won’t bother with either your questions or you survey in toto, you deserve a continued beat-down. What a schmuck!
So, one person complained – and got this in return. I’ll let Alan Rice figure out what a fisking is – I’m not sure he understands the phrase “self-evident” either. I will clue him in that the items I’m talking about by putting them in bold them; I’m sure that even he might “get it”.

The top issue is our approach to government; it’s broken. We have to get rid of the career politicians. I blew the whistle on the corruption and inept care at the VA and I’ll do the same in Washington. We need to get rid of the career politicians to put people in, do the job the people elected them to do, who will take care of their needs, who will represent them. We don’t have representation now in NH. We have congress people that are beholden to the big Corporation s to California to outside interests.
Now, I realize that in being a doctor, he takes care of people – that’s his worldview and we need people like that. But is it the Proper Role of Government to “take care of their needs”?
Absolutely not.

Bumped from 2/16/18. Yep, Dave Boutin threw his hat in the ring and is running against newcomer Bill Kuch – a real bonafide Conservative. Well, if Boutin’s hat is in the ring, I think we have a few anchors and anvils to add to his load. And guess what? They’re as valid now as when we first dropped them back in 2013/2014. Boutin is a straight get-along-go-along GOPe-er that toes the Establishment line – he knows where his campaign money comes from. So, consider this just the first one – we’ve got PLENTY!

However, the SDGANH is a relatively new conservative alternative to the Progressive-ly captured the New Hampshire School Boards Association and it is looking for new members (prior or currently elected School Board or Budget Committee members) and concerned citizens in support of their mission (“Helping School Board and Budget Committee members discover their Powers”), are looking to raise some funds:

Back on July 30, I caught wind of how the NH Firearms Coalition had decided that IF you didn’t answer their questionaire or didn’t answer all of their questions, you were automatically ruled to be “anti-gun” or “anti-Second Amendment” (above). Steve had more here as well. And yes, I’ve also caught a lot of flack over posting it. No matter, don’t care. Well, I do care – about those that were about to be slimed worse than the celebrities that venture onto some Nickelodeon; at least on those shows, its all good, green gooey slime in fun. With the NHFC, think of the opposite – and I blame, not the good folks that I know that are a part of it but the guy that signed the above – Alan Rice. IMHO? Power trip. With this little stunt to self-aggrandize himself, he’s not only diminished himself but the group he thinks serves, not the gun community, but himself. Almost all of we Groksters shoot and certainly all defend the Second Amendment and supporters that work, in way or another, to keep the REAL anti-gunners (that’s you, NH State Rep Katherine Rogers, you convicted assaulter!).
But with the above, Rice shows that he’s the equivalent of a crew served dual Ma Dueces on top of an MRAP controlled from inside (like the Youngest did) – but with a haywire control system that’s shooting at anything in sight. Just out of control! How else can one countenance the idea that if you failed to respond, in part or in all, you’d get an “F”? And here in NH, getting that in the Conservative community is like a whipping (and it seemingly makes Rice come off as some medieval enforcer – with a smile on his face.
NH Firearms Safety Coalition presents Massod Ayoob – intro remarks by Tom Brown
Following Ralph Demicco’s opening remarks and the NHFSC’s Suicide Prevention PSA (which I urge those of us in the 2A Community to watch, especially if you are in the position of teaching others to shoot or are retailers), local firearms instructor briefly took to the podium:

Following the intro remarks by Ralph Demicco and Tom Brown, Massod Ayoob took to the podium. A internationally recognized expert in training, speaking, and writing about firearms and the safety concerns, he gave a serious talk about how local retailers and firearm instructor could recognize the signs that someone is looking to end their lives with a firearm.
Instead of turning to government for “answers”, the NHFSC and others like Mr. Ayoob are looking for the industry to actively become engaged in this topic without it being politicized, compromised, or co-opted. Their mission is education and it was clear that Mr. Ayoob was centered in this mission.

Following Parts 1 & 2 of Massod Ayoob’s talk on gun safety and suicide prevention to a crowd of firearm retailers and instructors (along with a number of Second Amendment supporters) at the BassPro in Hooksett, NH are now Parts 3 and 4. Again I urge people to watch the Suicide Prevention PSA created by the NH Firearm Safety Coalition, an effort by people on both side of the issue who simply want to solve a problem that is the cause of 2/3rds of the gun deaths here in the US.
“Creative Destruction” – the end of my beginning. The beginning of my middle.
Joseph Schumpeter (1883-1950) first coined creative destruction in his work, Capitalism, Socialism, and Democracy. It refers to the process in which technology and innovation create new ways of doing things and, in the process, leave the old ways behind. Technological innovation might destroy entire businesses, industries, or streams of employment while allowing new enterprises to grow in their wake. Schumpeter believed the process of creative destruction, “which essentially revolutionizes the economic structure from within” was the hallmark of capitalism. Marx originally hinted at this idea in Das Capital when he stated that, “the violent destruction of capital was not by relations external to it, but rather as a condition of self preservation.” In a nutshell, Marx believed that the “destruction of capital” was necessary for a blossoming capitalist system.
