My name is Bill Kuch and I’m running to be your next Republican State Senator in NH State Senate District 16 to ensure that my grandchildren and the entire next generation of Granite Staters have the opportunities they deserve. That’s why I support Governor Sununu’s job-creation agenda, believe we need to bring transparency back to state government, and will fight to reduce burdensome regulations that strangle our economic growth. I’m proud to be the only candidate in the primary that has never voted for a tax increase, and I hope to earn your vote.
As your new Republican Senator, I will continue my resistance to any new taxes and fees, and support legislation to eliminate or reduce those taxes we already have, where appropriate. I will give particular focus to our high energy costs. Having served on the House Science Technology and Energy Committee, I came to realize that there are hidden costs in our electric bills that are used to fund jobs programs and keep failing businesses going. I spoke vehemently against these bills on the House floor and will do so in the Senate and support legislation to eliminate current non-germane costs from our electric bills.
I spent my formative years with the United States Navy as an Interior Communications Electrician before receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1970. My military experience made me the man I am today. From there I continued my career in the private sector, working in Information Technology across multiple countries and continents. This included three decades at Digital Equipment Corporation, which was the second-biggest employer in New Hampshire behind the state government at the time.
My time managing different departments and offices taught me the leadership skills I will bring to the State Senate. Working in different regulatory environments, from Switzerland to Singapore, has taught me how economics really works. I’ve seen first-hand how excessive government interference can slow down the economy, and I know good businesses can create good jobs when they’re allowed to.
I’ve been married for fifty years now to my wife Janis, who is involved with our local Bow Republican Committee and the Bow Garden Club. Our daughter Krista still lives here in town, commuting to Massachusetts for work. Krista and her husband Michael have blessed us with three grandchildren, who attend Bow Memorial and Bow Elementary.
I’m on the board of the Bow Community Men’s club, where we raise money for scholarships and other projects around town — including a wheelchair ramp for old town hall. In my spare time I enjoy competitive shooting at Pioneer Sportsmen in Dunbarton, where I’ve served on the board as well. As the time came to retire, I saw an opportunity to give back to the community that had given me so much. That’s why I chose to serve in the State House for two terms as a State Representative for Bow and Dunbarton, and why I’m running for State Senate now.
As a State Senator, I will continue the work I’ve started during my time in the House, including:
- Fighting for lower taxes. We cut business taxes and have continued to block a sales or income tax. I’m proud to be the only candidate in the Primary that has never voted for a tax increase.
- Defending our New Hampshire values. I have an A rating from the NRA, oppose Obamacare, and support all of our constitutional rights.
- Growing the economy. I support Governor Sununu’s job-creation agenda, have worked to lower energy costs, and know we need to keep reducing burdensome regulations.
Ultimately, I want to ensure that my grandchildren — and the entire next generation of Granite Staters – have all the opportunities that I had. But to do that, I need your help.
