Federal Government Ambassador to New Hampshire Jeanne Shaheen (or is the more proper term, the older version of Satrap?) used her perch in the US Senate to override local voters and reverse the fiscal decisions of their duly elected representatives.
The Senate passed an emergency appropriations bill on Friday night to avoid a government shutdown. This $1.2 trillion appropriations minibus includes $825 billion for the U.S. Department of Defense and $62 billion for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
We can never again say that Jeanne Shaheen didn’t try to cut Federal Spending. Her Senate office slipped a last-minute addition into the 1,000+ page “keep the government open or the world will end (again)” budget bill that would cut 50 million in spending. Fifty million. It was a hiccup, to be sure.
