Union Leader Now Carrying Water for Jeanne Shaheen on Coronavirus

This:

The linked “article”, if you want to be kind and call it that, resembles John DiStaso’s “coverage” – essentially cutting and pasting Jeanne Shaheen’s press release and signing your name to it:

The grants come on top of $1.25 billion New Hampshire will receive under the Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security Act, the minimum COVID-19 grant going to all states.

U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., was a lead negotiator in that part of the final bill, which will produce a record $377 billion to encourage small business owners to stay in operation and keep workers on their payrolls. …

“During negotiations, I was adamant that this bipartisan legislation help our state and local communities as Granite Staters work around the clock to respond to the spread of COVID-19. This funding will provide needed relief to our schools, …

Landrigan’s tweet … “$147 million more … above its $1.25 billion state grant” … and the language of the “article” … “[d]uring negotiations” … make it sound like New Hampshire was only going to get the $1.25 billion but “Jeannie” saved the day and got more money.

That’s a total rewrite of history. The so-called add-on funds were in the bill BEFORE Shaheen filibustered:

… the previous bill included $10 billion in block grants to states as well as $242 billion for states and local governments (which has been retained), plus the same amounts for education, transit and disaster relief funding.

in a word: FAKENEWS.
