What can we say about Sen. Jeanne Shaheen that has not already been said? Quite a bit. And we’ll have more opportunity to say it. The 72-year old two-term Democrat is so addicted to the money and power in Washington that she can’t find a way to retire. She is running for a third term in 2020.
US Senate
Well, it looked like the US House Republicans got Trump’s message – they passed a bill
Next to repealing Obamacare, immigration has been a hot topic amongst the conservative base. Trump knew it and campaigned heavily on it: The Wall. Forget whether you like the idea (I do) or not, it was a campaign promise. It was for a lot of other Congresscritters as well but even with owning all three … Read more
Has Anyone seen Chuck Schumer?
The endless 24/7 news feed leading up to November 6, 2018, has only one person less visible than Paul Ryan and that is Democrat Senate leader Chuck Schumer of New York, the guy to whom our NH Senators answer. Maybe it is because his hardest supporters are suddenly rejecting him. In this case enough to … Read more
Mitch McConnell – We’re Moving on All of Trump’s Judicial Nominees Before Year End
With many a Democrat Senator on the hook and in a tough fight to keep their play-dates in Washington come 2019, Mitch McConnell has decided that the check is due on all the obstruction they engaged in over the past two years. He’s using their burning desire to get home and campaign to get the backlog of Mr. … Read more
GrokTV – Chris Christie dances a verbal jig over the Politico reporters word on This Week
I watch the Sunday shows (now that I have DVR capability back) so you don’t have to. I’ll tell you, Chris Christie (former NJ Governor and former Prez wannabe), was absolutely beside himself (no small order, that) and full of glee after the words of Politico’s Rachel Baid’s description of what would happen if the Democrats DO take over the House (as their dreams of taking over the Senate seemingly have set sail). First, her words:
His gleeful response with advice to the GOP:
Even though Republican Sen Murkowski was going to vote “No”, she didn’t – but not for the reason you think
The old technique is called “Pairing”:
Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski announced that although she opposes Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation, she will be listed as ‘present’ in the final vote tomorrow so that Montana Senator Steve Daines can stay at his daughter’s wedding. The announcement comes hours after [Republican Senator] Daines revealed he was willing to jet to Washington after walking his daughter down the aisle, in order to confirm Kavanaugh if needed. Thanks to Murkowski – a crucial Republican swing vote – he will no longer have to following her ‘agonizing and close call’ decision.
‘I will be a no today and a no tomorrow,’ she said during a press conference on the Senate floor on Friday evening. ‘I will, in the final tally, be asked to be recorded as present and I do this because a friend, a colleague of ours is in Montana this evening and … he’s going to be walking his daughter down the aisle and he won’t be present to vote. I have extended this as a courtesy to my friend. It will not change the outcome of the vote,’ she added.
Sen. Susan Collins Senate Floor Speech in Support of Judge Kavanaugh
Susan Collins does not often get any ‘ink’ on these pages for making a cogent case in the defense of much of anything she does in Washington but this is an exception. No, it is not simply because she is voting the way we would prefer on Judge Kavanaugh. It is that she has stepped … Read more
A fisking of US Senator Jeff Flake on the SCOTUS hearings
Two fortunate things came together – I found the charging cord to my Zoom Q4 camera (literally handsized) and found out that it makes a great camera with which to yank off clips from the TV (DVR’d of course) and that US Senator Jeff Flake decided to show up at St Anselm’s Institute of Politics this past Monday Night. Of course, WMUR just HAD (in their drift leftward) had to cover this “Conservative” who, they touted, derailed the confirmation of Brett Kavanuagh to the Supreme Court (even if just for a little mite of time). Of course, Flake is all pleased with himself and he made that quite clear to all. For not much at all, IMHO; let the fisking begin:
Oh, that picture and “who is that in that red circle?”. Note to Jeff Flake:
Voting Enthusiasm Poll: A combo of “They have brought us upon themselves” and
The Law of Unintended Consequences with Obama’s (yes, he’s still a thing) “I won”? US Senate Democrats (along with loose coordination with their allies in the MSM and Progressive organizations) have overplayed their hand with the absolutely disgusting tactics they have used against Judge Kavanaugh and other Conservatives (e.g., made up allegations that can’t be … Read more
Former Hassan Staffer Arrested for Doxxing GOP Senators
Breaking everywhere, a former staffer of NH Senator Maggie Hassan, Jackson Cosko, 27, was charged with making public restricted personal information, witness tampering, threats in interstate communication, unauthorized access of a government computer, identity theft, second-degree burglary and unlawful entry, although additional charges could be added. Cosko most recently worked for Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee … Read more
Mitch McConnell: The Senate is Voting on Kavanaugh This Week
Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell has issued a statement on his Senate Website. The nomination process is moving forward. He has been moved out of committee to the floor and he means to have a vote. Then he makes some time to talk about the Democrats and the circus they created. It makes for an … Read more
Did Dr. Ford’s Lawyer Fail to Tell Her She Could have Testified in Private?
Sen. Grassley extended an invitation to bring the entire Senate Judiciary committee, staff and all, to California, to hear Dr. Ford’s testimony in private. Wherever and whenever she chose. The offer was made to her lawyer.
So why was she dragged across the country to sit front and center for the media circus?
The question answers itself.
Notorious RBG Not Happy With Kavanaugh Confirmation Histrionics

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, speaking at George Washington University Law School, expressed a lack of appreciation for the partisan show that consumes the Supreme Court Justice Confirmation process
“The atmosphere in ’93 was truly bipartisan. The vote on my confirmation was 96 to 3, even though I had spent about 10 years of my life litigating cases under the auspices of the ACLU and I was on the ACLU board,” she continued.
Republican Senate Says “We’ll Get Kennedy’s Replacement Confirmed This Fall”
Democrats are always mad, but at least now they have a reason. Mitch McConnell says the U.S. Senate will have a replacement on board for Justice Kennedy before the November election.
Democrat’s are (believe it or not) playing the hypocrisy card because the GOP balked at moving on Merrick Garland before the Presidential Election in 2016. They demand the same consideration here. Wait until after November.
Trump Will Get to Nominate a Replacement for Justice Kennedy – He’s Retiring!
Justice Anthony Kennedy is retiring. Mr. Trump will get to choose his replacement. And, wouldn’t it be nice if he had a Senate Majority to help him out with that?
Justice Anthony Kennedy announced today that he would retire from the Supreme Court, effective July 31. In a letter to President Donald Trump, Kennedy wrote that “it is the highest of honors to serve on this Court,” and he expressed his “profound gratitude for having had the privilege to seek in each case how best to know, interpret, and defend the Constitution and the laws that must always conform to its mandates and promises.”
U.S. Senate August Recess Cancelled – Democrat Obstruction Blamed
The party of progress just got their summer vacation canceled due to their all-out effort to prevent progress.
Senators will receive “a state work period” the first full week of August, but must come back to D.C. after that.
This is bad news for the incumbent Democrat senators since they will not have the ability to campaign during the month. Democrats have 26 seats up for re-election in November along with independent seats in Maine and Vermont, both belonging to senators who caucus with the Democrats.
Really – Elizabeth Warren actually used this phrase? Cluelessness
I’m on a lot of Democrat email lists. No, I generally don’t post stuff but this was just too rich. She just sent out an email about Florida Governor Rick Scott’s announcement that he’s going to run for US Senate against the incumbent, Democrat Bill Nelson (who, btw, would be happy to take your guns … Read more
UNH Student Admits – Out of State Students Stole Senate Election for Maggie Hassan
Yesterday, Ed Mosca beat me to the punch on reporting the latest histrionics from the New Hampshire left. House Bill 372, requires anyone who votes in an election with an out of state ID to obtain an NH ID within 60 days of casting that vote.
Jim Rubens – Running for US Senate in NH
Jim Rubens is challenging sitting RINO Sen. Kelly Ayotte. He took a few minutes after a debate with the Senator to speak with me about local and national issues.
If Bill Greiner is A “Good Republican” …
Aaron Day joins us, fresh off the denial of the gag order requested against him in a lawsuit lead by Bill Greiner. Our conversation features names like Greiner’s (whose lawyer is Hillary State vice-chair Bill Shaheen), Andy Crews (the chair of Ted Gatsas Gubernatorial Campaign), and Dick Anagnost.
