Sen. Grassley extended an invitation to bring the entire Senate Judiciary committee, staff and all, to California, to hear Dr. Ford’s testimony in private. Wherever and whenever she chose. The offer was made to her lawyer.
So why was she dragged across the country to sit front and center for the media circus?
The question answers itself.
Lori Byrd, writing at Townhall.com writes that, “During Dr. Ford’s testimony, she said she didn’t know the Judiciary Committee had offered many, many times for her to testify in private and in California.”
Byrd calls it an Important Revelation.
Damn straight.
The media narrative would have been tipped on its head if the public knew that the “Judiciary Committee had offered many, many times for her to testify in private and in California.”
Ford: Can I say something to you? Do you mind if I say something to you directly? I just appreciate that you did offer that. I wasn’t clear on what the offer was. If you were going to come out to see me, I would have happily hosted you and been happy to speak with you out there. I just did not – it was not clear to me that that was the case.
Why wasn’t she clear? What possible reason could there be for repeated offers to bring the entire Judiciary committee to Dr. Ford? Her lawyer made it unclear. But why would he do that?
Because the point of the exercise was the media circus.
They got their circus at the expense of all concerned.
The people behind the circus don’t quit when they lose so guess what happens if they win?
