Sen. Grassley extended an invitation to bring the entire Senate Judiciary committee, staff and all, to California, to hear Dr. Ford’s testimony in private. Wherever and whenever she chose. The offer was made to her lawyer.
So why was she dragged across the country to sit front and center for the media circus?

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, speaking at George Washington University Law School, expressed a lack of appreciation for the partisan show that consumes the Supreme Court Justice Confirmation process
“The atmosphere in ’93 was truly bipartisan. The vote on my confirmation was 96 to 3, even though I had spent about 10 years of my life litigating cases under the auspices of the ACLU and I was on the ACLU board,” she continued.
Democrats are always mad, but at least now they have a reason. Mitch McConnell says the U.S. Senate will have a replacement on board for Justice Kennedy before the November election.
Democrat’s are (believe it or not) playing the hypocrisy card because the GOP balked at moving on Merrick Garland before the Presidential Election in 2016. They demand the same consideration here. Wait until after November.
Justice Anthony Kennedy is retiring. Mr. Trump will get to choose his replacement. And, wouldn’t it be nice if he had a Senate Majority to help him out with that?
Justice Anthony Kennedy announced today that he would retire from the Supreme Court, effective July 31. In a letter to President Donald Trump, Kennedy wrote that “it is the highest of honors to serve on this Court,” and he expressed his “profound gratitude for having had the privilege to seek in each case how best to know, interpret, and defend the Constitution and the laws that must always conform to its mandates and promises.”
The party of progress just got their summer vacation canceled due to their all-out effort to prevent progress.
Senators will receive “a state work period” the first full week of August, but must come back to D.C. after that.
This is bad news for the incumbent Democrat senators since they will not have the ability to campaign during the month. Democrats have 26 seats up for re-election in November along with independent seats in Maine and Vermont, both belonging to senators who caucus with the Democrats.
