Quick Thought on Steve’s post: One of Life’s Certainties – New Hampshire Democrats Raise Taxes

Here. It’s what Democrats do.  Let me remind you of what they did before: they created an $800 million hole in the NH State budget.  They spent everything they could – and then more.  You see, Democrats are:

  • They believe in Government directed EVERYTHING – every aspect of our lives.  That takes a lot of your money to allow them to do that
  • While they are always screaming about separation of Church and State, they absolutely conflate the ideas of Government and Charity.

Why the second? they too lazy to get off their Collective butts to do the hard work of creating charities and then canvassing the public at large to fund them. Government means Ruling and Crowding out private charity. When they talk about Public / Private partnerships, you can always know who is in charge and who is about to be embraced and then absorbed (if not de jure, then de facto).  Government IS Charity and Charity means Government because ONLY from Government can good things flow, according to their actions. And once again, while they’re out putting their sense of a Collective dystopia Utopia in place, they’ll be setting the stage, once again, for broadbased taxes. Which means that…

One of Life’s Certainties – New Hampshire Democrats Raise Taxes

As Government gets bigger and more inefficient (corrupt), it needs to feed. The ‘food’ is your hard earned dollars, and the delivery method is taxation (fees, charges, etc.). Anyone who recalls the last time Democrats “ran things” around here they deliberately overestimated revenues and then spent them to grow government. When the estimates fell short, … Read more

On the Topic of “Free Money” – A Refresher Course

Given the “complexion” of our incoming New Hampshire legislature, we should take a moment to revisit a phrase you’ll be hearing a lot more around the Granite State.  “Free money.” ‘Free money’ is taxes for which (the individual using the term) did not have to “vote” to collect them.  Someone else, further away and more difficult … Read more

It all Comes Down to Trust, and Democrats Don’t Trust You

If you visit a New Hampshire Democrat congressional delegation members government webpage, you’ll find an endless stream of statements about how they helped direct money to this or that. Tens of thousands for this, hundreds of thousands for that, sometimes even millions. Look at how hard I am working for “my” constituents. The same people … Read more

Myths Regarding Education Funding

Hint: It Is Not About the Children or Their Academic Outcomes All too often, especially in election years, we hear candidates make promises they cannot – or will not – keep. They claim they can lower property taxes without proposing spending cuts or indicating where the dollars would come from to replace the reduced funding … Read more

Data Point – who pays MORE than their “fair” share?

That would be the 50% of Americans who pay the 97% of the income tax taken by the Federal Government:

Bloomberg looked into the 2016 individual returns data in detail for some additional insights illustrated in the charts below:

  • The top 1 percent paid a greater share of individual income taxes (37.3 percent) than the bottom 90 percent combined (30.5 percent).
  • The top 50 percent of all taxpayers paid 97 percent of total individual income taxes.

That’s just the Feds. Now crank in all of the income taxes taken in by

Using the SAU stationary they recently sent out a letter urging recipients to attend a meeting “in an attempt to increase dialog and share information.” About what? This reads like Democrat talking points. It mirrors issues they are … Read more

Stop the Presses: “Free College” May Not be The Best Use of Taxpayer Dollars

I did not know that the Island of Rhode has a Free College program called Rhode Island Promise. It is available through the Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI). You need to be a Rhode Island Resident, a high school graduate (includes homeschoolers), and under the age of 19.

But according to the CCRI Faculty Association President Steve Murray, “I wouldn’t call RI Promise a success or a good use of the taxpayer’s money.”

98% Of NH Democrats Voted for an Income Tax…

If you aren’t planning to vote in November I hope you like higher taxes. From 2011 to 2018 98% of New Hampshire Democrats voted for an income tax (2012 CACR13, 2018 HB628). 97% of Democrats voted for higher gas taxes (2013 HB617, 2014 SB367, 2011 SB78, 2015 HB591). Democrats voted for higher business taxes and lots of other taxes.

But there’s a way to stop your taxes from going up.

There is More than One Price to Pay for Letting Democrats back into Power

Democrats have made no secret of their plans to raise taxes. Left-wing leaders at both the Federal and State level are running on erasing tax reform. Here in New Hampshire, candidates for Governor and State Senator as well as other state elected offices are looking to roll back tax cuts on job creators even though the state has experienced record high employment and labor force participation.

All at a time when the evidence suggests that people with the most mobility are migrating to states with lower tax burdens.

Six Things Other Governments Provide for which Americans Still Have to Pay…

I was just minding my own business when this headline scrolled its way before my eyes. “6 things other governments provide that Americans still have to pay for.”

I think it should read “Six things other governments provide for which Americans still have to pay,” but I can write in cursive and also believe that there are thousands of buying decisions laundered through government that every-day Americans are more qualified to make, including the six things in this MSN article.

The Most Liberal State Has the Highest Poverty Rate – NH Still Lowest in the Nation

The U.S. Census released its most recent data on Poverty in America last week and surprise, surprise, surprise! The far-left land of Nancy Pelosi, Jerry Brown, Dianne Feinstein, Tech Giants, and Hollywood Gazillionaires continues to have the highest rate of poverty in the nation.

Nashua’s Property Revaluation Lowers Tax Rate But Not Taxes

nashuacityhallNashua Mayor Donchess is quick to point out that the city had to do its recent property revaluation. It’s state law. And that’s true.

He was not ‘unhappy’ to report that as a result, the tax rate will go down. But that’s not good news because the dance is between the tax base and the budget. Juggling numbers don’t change the actual problem. Yes, some folks will see their tax bill decline slightly but most will see it rise. Not because of a forced revaluation but because no effort is made to cut spending.

New Hampshire Democrat Wants to “Revoke …Tax Cuts Businesses Didn’t Ask For”

Remember when we said your voting record matters? We’ve got another example, and it ties in nicely with our congratulations to Republican Dan Hynes on his election win. He beat out one of those squishy Republicans with a lousy voting record in the State Senate District 9 primary. Terry Wolf is reputed to be a Bill Greiner special. Greiner runs Bedford, if you hadn’t heard. He owns the Town council, blah blah, blah.

Wolf is rumored to be Greiner’s Republican of preference. Soft on everything especially the Republican Platform and the NH and US Constitution. She lost, in part because of the same efforts by grassroots groups and activists to retire other Republicans with bad voting records.

But we’ve no time to pat ourselves on the back because the Democrat challenger for this seat is a bigger threat to liberty than Terry Wolf.
