Fraser Institute: New Hampshire Rated#1 for Economic Freedom in North America

The Fraser Institute’s 2018 Report on Economic Freedom of North America is out. It measures the extent to which the policies of individual provinces and states were supportive of economic freedom, the ability of individuals to act in the economic sphere free of undue restrictions. America is ahead of Canada once again. And for all indices, New Hampshire is now number one for economic freedom in all of North America.

While that is good news the report comes with a warning for Granite Staters.

Starting in 2015, however, both Canada and Alberta elected new political leaders who have been making changes in taxation, spending, and regulation that are already having a significant negative effect on their economic freedom. As a result, after six years in the top position, in this year’s index, Alberta has fallen to a tie for 6th place.

Starting in 2019, New Hampshire has newly elected political leaders who intend to make changes in taxation, spending, and regulation. These will have a significant adverse effect on economic freedom because these new ‘leaders’ are cut from the same cloth as their comrades in Canada.

It didn’t take long in the Great White North. The negative impacts were felt immediately. So, New Hampshire’s booming economy is now in a hostage situation to Leftists and their destructive ideology.

They’ve got their agenda pointed at her head, and they mean to pull the trigger.

It won’t take much

Comparing US State to State, by the way, New Hampshire came in second to Florida. New York came in last.

Florida should look forward to being number one in North America in the next report. Unless, of course, New Hampshire can find the strength to oppose the liberal agenda. They will need to encourage Republican Governor Sununu to veto Lefty legislation. Let him know you will support and defend those vetoes by reaching out to Republicans and Democrats in your districts to convince them of the economic disadvantages of a vote to override.

And the political ones as well.

It is worth your time and effort. We are, after all, talking about your money.
