Nashua Municipal Election Results

Incumbents fared well in Nashua aldermanic elections Tuesday night. None lost, while incumbent mayor Jim Donchess was unopposed. The Nashua Board of Education results took another direction, with incumbents Doris Hohensee and Howard Coffman losing their seats.

Who’s getting EMILY’s List support?

[Update, 10/30/18: a reader has expressed concern that my phrasing below – “to unseat so-and-so” – implied a done deal. Not my intention! All these races are very much up in the air. But make no mistake: the challengers listed below are not just running for office. They’re running to throw other people OUT of office. – EGK]

EMILY’s List – a national PAC boasting “we ignite change by getting pro-choice Democratic women elected to office” – is open and aboveboard about who they’d like to see in office. Here’s the New Hampshire list, for your consideration. I’ve added a note or two.

Democrat Terie Norelli Brings Civility To the New Hampshire House?

Get a load of this. It is part of a quote from an elected member of the New Hampshire House.

“What we can do is make the environment here so unwelcoming that some will choose not to come, and some may actually leave.  One way is to pass measures that will restrict freedoms that they think they will find here.”

Can you imagine any person in elected office saying something like this and not being run out of office by their party leadership? The person speaking is talking about using the legislature’s police powers to intentionally drive people away from New Hampshire or out of New Hampshire. They are suggesting we use the government to restrict people’s freedom, on purpose.

Trust and Safety in New Hampshire

Here are two pull quotes from the New Hampshire Union Leader that I wanted to share.  One is about trust, the other about safety.  I think you’ll find them…interesting.

In an article on 2013 LSR H-0451 regarding a proposed change to the right to know law, New Hampshire House Democrat Majority Leader Steve Shurtleff, D-Penacook, said of local elected officials having more opportunities for private executive sessions meeting out of public view…

“At some point, you have to trust these officials not to abuse it,.”

Now that is funny, right there, I don’t care who you are.

Remembering Democrat Rule – No Taxes Means More Taxes

About That “No Tax Pledge” Candidate Hassan…
About That “No Tax Pledge” Candidate Hassan…

In 2007 New Hampshire Democrats assumed complete control of state government.  And much like the Democrat rhetoric in the current 2012 campaign, back in 2007,  their first budget,  New Hampshire’s first budget over 10 billion dollars, was billed by the Democrats as a budget that “addresses our state’s priorities without new taxes.”

Addresses our ‘State’s’ priorities.  Without new taxes.

They lied.

Ask New Hampshire Democrats…Will You Let Obama Seize our Guns? (Fixed Link)

President Obama, who promised to pursue gun control under the radar, has fulfilled that promise.Oh No Guns....and magazines...and ammo

Obama has expanded civil-forfeiture rules making it permissible for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) to seize weapons from citizens without the hassle of due process.

This effectively gives Attorney General Eric Holder, of Fast and Furious fame, extended power over guns and gun-related property.

Your Vote Is Worth Millions- Maybe You’d Like To Protect it?

SB 129 is coming up for a veto override vote in the New Hampshire Senate in the next week or so. (The Union leader referred to it as SB 189, this morning, which is incorrect.) SB 129 would require ID to vote in New Hampshire. It would afford the same protection to your vote as it does to dozens of other things you need an ID for.

Jay Severin Returns to Boston Radio

People familiar with Severin will know he sells himself as a libertarian leaning right winger, which is in itself suspect if you spend any time listening, but his style and manner have a history of building a broad range of listeners.

Revoke Non-Profit Status?

In 2010 the NHCA’s PAC, New Hampshire Citizens Alliance for Action, spent all it’s over $15,000.00 in PAC money to re-elect Carol Shea-Porter.

GSFTC Member Organization Spotlight -NH Citizens Alliance

There are a number of groups that the Left wing Granite State ‘Fare’ Tax Coalition highlights on it’s web site.  It’s your typical collection of "non-non-partisan" interests like the State Employes Union of NH (That’s the local SEIU 1984). The AFSC-which is the NH Chapter of a global leftist movement supported by all the nicest left wing foundations.  The League of Women Voters of course.  And there is even a who’s-who of left wing, NH social justice churches and their political arms, all promoting socialist activism and statist policy from the pulpit down to on the ground left wing activism.Socialism- Making everyone poor...

All of these groups warrant, and will receive, a proper vetting, but today I would like to focus on a special cog in the leftist machine of the so-called non-partisan GSFTC, one that happens to be very active in New Hampshire on its own; the NHCA.  The NHCA is the New Hampshire Citizens Alliance.  (You may remember their executive director, Sarah Chaisson Warner?  She received some unwanted attention after some remarks she made back in March of 2010. See also Here from the NHTPC.) The New Hampshire citizens alliance is…(drum-roll please)

…a statewide nonprofit, nonpartisan organization devoted to social, economic, and political justice.

A Non-partisan organization devoted to social, economic, and political justice?  Too bad that’s just not possible.  There are no right wing groups seeking these ethereal ends.  These are buzz-words, Orwellian constructs, created by statist agenda-driven socialists to mislead people.  So the NHCA couldn’t be "non-partisan" if they tried. But you don’t have to take my word for it.  Just look at who they associate with and what they support.

Jury Nullification Bill In NH Senate

The New Hampshire Senate will be voting on HB 146 this week, a bill that would give the jury in any trial the power of nullification.

The Sweet Stench Of Left Wing Hypocrisy

The Union Leader wastes no time, exposing Hawkins connection to money she received May 11th from America Votes (out of state left wing donation), which Granite State Progress then used to support the Democrat in the special election she is squawking about, specifically to elect that democrat, in that election.

Is Pregnancy Still John Lynches “Exception” To Parental Notification?

Given the facts ‘on the ground’ will pregnancy continue to be the “exception” to parental notification in John Lynches New Hampshire or have parents earned the right to have a voice in what happens to their underage daughters?

Is John Lynch In Trouble With Democrats?

The progressive socialists who pull the big red levers at party headquarters invest a good deal of political capitol on bashing big business and the men and women who run them so how do they reconcile their figurehead democrat pimping the potential for 1500 new manufacturing jobs in the state, created by some evil, free market, fortune 100 company?

Right To Work Override

If Exxon Mobile demanded $50.00 per month from all its employees, every month, to pay for benefits and it’s political action agenda, the left would shit kittens, protest, and then engage in well funded, partisan series of lawsuits until the company was forbidden from using that money for political activity.

Stephen Colbert’s Campaign Finance Lesson

“Why does it get so complicated to do this? I mean, this is page after page of legalese,” Mr. Colbert lamented. “All I’m trying to do is affect the 2012 election. It’s not like I’m trying to install iTunes.”

New Hampshire Got Jobs!?

How about some jobs? New Hampshire is reporting an April unemployment rate of 4.9%. … This is unlike last year when the initial “improvement” we saw was actually the result of workforce decline–people had stopped looking or receiving benefits and dropped out of the equation.

Hey Lefty? Wassup With the Health Care Waivers?

Here’s a nice video to get you primed up and ready to de-fang a union near you. It’s all about ObamaScare and the Democrat-Crony Waiver wire. Unions, Democrats, Hypocrites, Together.

Government To Mandate PLAN Chip In Your Cell Phone

..your President wont have to worry about wasting a crisis. He can just create them as needed, and text them right to your cell phone. “Be afraid. Be very afraid.”

Is John Edwards a Scumbag?

It should have been rhetorical but after Tweeting John Edwards latest declaration of Ass-hattedness to Twitter and Facebook about an alleged John Edwards sex tape, I was asked jokingly:

"Is John Edwards and alleged Scumbag or is it confirmed he is a Scumbag. Don’t want you to cross any legal lines."

Great question. When exactly does an ambulance chasing trial lawyer turned professional lying-cheat, rat-bastard, who had an affair on his cancer-stricken wife, making a sex tape with his videographer who had his love child, cross the line to scumbag?

That’s not a hard question to answer even if we can’t agree that he started on the other side of the line. But why is allowing his mistress to create a sex tape she never destroyed her fault? You don’t make sex tapes with politicians unless you either want to blackmail them or you want to spice up the act; does anyone actually watch these after they make them, or do they just wait until they get stolen and show up on the internet? And if you are a politician and you let someone make a sex tape–when you are married and running for President? Well….who is the idiot in this scenario? Was it not dumb enough just to cheat on your sick wife while on campaign, or dumber to then allow someone to make a record of it?

I can’t give an unbiased answer for several reasons  but mostly because I think he always was a scum bag.  So I figured I’d give some of the folks who were willing to ignore the fact that he was an ambulance chasing trial lawyer turned professional lying-cheat, rat-bastard, and supported his goal to to be President, an opportunity to answer the question for us.  To that end I have included an October 2007 list of Graniteroots town chairs for Edwards I found over at NH Insider.   If anyone can tell us when or if he has crossed the line to ‘scumbag’ they can.

The list is on the jump.

Or we can ask Tim Horrigan, also an Edwards fan at least in Jan of 2008, who is the one Democrat I know of most likely to read this post.

So find a name and take a survey.  Let us know if Edwards is officially a scumbag across the ideological spectrum or…will the democrats now elevate him to Clintonesque stature?  Sex scandal, perjury, a southern lilt, lying dirt-bag; that’s presidential material for left wingers.  This could be a tough one.
