Why the Facts Don’t Matter

by Shannon McGinley As the head of a nonprofit known for taking principled stands, I believe the truth is important. Foundational to our organization is the belief an informed electorate is critical to our republic. So, before taking a stand or sharing information, we also do our homework to make sure we know what we’re … Read more

Russians Abused Free Speech to Help Trump Win the 2016 elections

The establishment press. The mainstream media. Google, Twitter, Facebook. The professional left. They are forever finding cause to quiet ideas to which they object. Even the First Amendment itself. If not for that outmoded protection foreign interlopers might not have aided in the rise of Mr. Trump. Yes, Free Speech is now to blame for … Read more

Arctic Sea Ice, and Google’s Search Results “Reality”

The Danish Meteorological Institute’s most recent data shows Arctic Sea Ice Extent rapidly approaching the 1981-2000 mean. Rapidly. But if you Google “Arctic Sea ice 2018” you will find a series of headlines on the subject of the 2018 arctic minimum. I didn’t search the annual arctic minimum. In the absence of other details “minimum” was … Read more

Dan Crenshaw May Be the New Republican “YouTube” Star

During Chris Christie’s first term as governor his recorded conversations with voters, union reps, any manner of constituent became known as Chris Christie porn. The way he questioned the union and establishment status quo in New Jersey Town Hall meetings was thrilling to watch. And he’s an establishment Republican sort of guy. Since then Trey Gowdy … Read more

This isn’t “Trump’s Hurricane” – He Inherited it.

The media is all aflutter with the implication that Mr. Trump and his destructive exit from the Paris Climate agreement is responsible for Hurricane Florence. If not the hurricane itself then it’s intensity. If not the intensity then the risk to human life and (what will undoubtedly be reported as) record high property damage.

There’s only one problem.

“Plastic Guns” – The 1980’s Want Their Gun-Grabber Hysteria Back

Have you heard about the “undetectable plastic gun”? The gun control lobbies call it is “tailor-made for terrorism.” The Washington Post reports that a state sponsor of terrorism is already attempting to obtain these guns. A Postcolumnist warns that the police “vehemently oppose the introduction of plastic guns into our armed society.” Newsweek predicts the NRA will face a member … Read more

Mueller Still has Nothing And Mueller is the Proof of That.

Robert Mueller’s mandate as special prosecutor is to investigate and prosecute legitimate cases of “collusion” between ‘Russians’ and the Trump Campaign. He has been at it for a few years now and despite the occasional media-friendly announcements of charges or indictments ‘Mueller’ still has nothing.

How do we know this?

Gallup Poll: Inaccuracy, Misinformation, and Bias in Media News Coverage

America doesn't trust the media

Gallup’s latest opinion poll adds another nail to the Media coffin.  A growing majority believe it is biased.

Overall, U.S. adults estimate that 62% of the news they read in newspapers, see on television or hear on the radio is biased. They think the news media mostly provide accurate information, but still estimate that 44% of what they see is inaccurate. And they believe that more than a third of the news they see in these channels is misinformation — false or inaccurate information that is presented as if it were true.

As Grok Prepares To Take it to the Next Level It’s Time to See Where We Rank With Alexa

alexa traffic rankBefore we were hacked in April GraniteGrok climbed up the Alexa Rankings (for Online news or media sites in New Hampshire) to do battle with the top 5. The redirect did some damage to that, and we almost dropped out of the top ten.

That was not great, and we’ve written about the redirects that plagued readers, but some good has come out of it. We amped up the fundraising and our new Web site, which Skip lovingly refers to as Grok 3.0, is under construction. The new security is a lot better and we’ve got some very serious plans for this platform that will, yes literally, take us to the next level.

So what level are we on now? I asked Alexa’s ranking where we stood in the New Hampshire Political/News interwebs and here’s what I learned.

Erick Erickson: The Media’s Double Standards

hypocrisy (1)I had some thoughts on this yesterday but there’s room for more.

No television network has ever cancelled the number one network television show in America over a star’s behavior until this happened. Roseanne Barr has a history of making awful comments. She said people who eat at Chick-Fil-A should get cancer. She believed 9/11 conspiracy theories. She ran for President as a far left candidate for office. By the end of last week, the very same people who had been defending the honor of the MS-13 gang were attacking the honor of all Trump voters everywhere as if they were just as bad as Roseanne.

Trump’s Poll Numbers Improve Despite 90% Negative Coverage

Under the circumstances, this is an impressive accomplishment. The liberal media’s war against President Trump was as fierce as ever during the first four months of 2018, but the onslaught appears to be for naught: In the face of massive and hostile coverage from ABC, CBS and NBC, Trump’s overall job approval rating actually rose, from 37 … Read more
