Notice anything different about the recent ‘School Shooting’ in Denver? It’s not all anyone on the left is talking about, for starters.
Typically, any shooting involving “children” (other than daily, in neighborhoods, in cities run by Democrats) requires all sorts of media naval gazing about how we’ve not done enough. Panels of leftists and a token “Republican” roll out the same dusty standards. Background checks (already have them), gun-free school zones (most are), mental health (Democrats have made it worse), and then blame law-abiding citizens and the NRA (who are simply not responsible).
Anti-gun groups funded by liberal billionaires with armed guards drop in their spokespersons for a photo-op as the media circus sets up all of its rings. “Concerned citizens” who are probably bussed in paid activists call for immediate action. Democrat policy meat-puppets thousands of miles away push the disarmament agenda.
It’s The Greatest Scam on Earth.
But not in Colorado. Not this time around.
If you were trapped in an airport terminal, you’d be hearing about obstruction (as opposed to collusion). Not about an 18-year-old Christian bashing Gay kid (who loves Obama hates Trump) and his trans-buddy shooting at classmates in a charter school.
Judging by how the media coverage and subsequent fallout from school shootings have gone in the past, the media seems absolutely silent in comparison now, but it’s easy to see why. All of its usual strawmen have been stripped away and it’s left with nothing but the cold reality that there was something mentally wrong with the two shooters.
Actual students are not using the opportunity to become activists. Quite the opposite. They abandoned a rally that quickly turned political and went off on their own to their own vigil.
The absence of willing victims to mill under the media grindstone leaves them with a “special interest” story worth about 30-seconds late in the hour. And if you look at the limited coverage, that’s about what happened.
And for those who want to claim I’m making it political consider this. What the left wants is to disarm law-abiding citizens which leads to more shootings and more dead kids. What I want is the opposite. Less political interference and more liberty so counties, town’s and districts can train and arm staff and post signs that say, you will not have a force advantage. This is not a gun free zone.
Our children will not bleed to feed the left’s victim culture.
We are armed, and we will defend them and ourselves.
Frustrated, crying and angry, #STEMschool shooting victims hold an impromptu vigil in the rain Wednesday after leaving a gun-control vigil they felt inappropriately politicized their trauma.
