COVID19 is taking a toll on high schoolers but is not as a result of the actual virus. The CDC’s Dr. Robert Redfield notes that we’ve seen more suicides and more drug overdoses among high schoolers than deaths from the coronavirus. This is significant so what is the message here?

The State released a well-thought-out guidance document on reopening schools this fall. It provides some primary considerations, relevant information from health authorities (even if I disagree with some of it), and it allows each district to do what works best for them. Democrats hate it. They want a top-down mandate.

The Governor’s Office has released a 49-page report on (to boil it all down) how to get kids back in the classroom beginning in September. In other words, the recommendation is in-person teaching from the beginning of the school year.
