Silly little lefty, of course statism begets tyranny. What did you expect?
Statism knows only one party, its own. And it protects its own with an wrought-iron fist. Some on the Left are finally on the receiving end of what they’ve been advocating for all these years, and are a little surprised.
Similar to the man marveling incredulously at his bloodied stump of a forearm after retracting it from the bars of a tiger’s cage, a Lefty journalist, Jeremy Scahill, marvels incredulously over the close control this White House asserts over the press. That is this Progressive White House, Leftist White House, read: statist White House. Why is he surprised? Doesn’t he understand statism? Did he really convince himself that there was such a thing as benign statism? Hasn’t he read history at all? Such a thing never existed, at least not for long. It’s the genetic, ingrained fallibility of man that undergirds this inevitability. The inevitability of policies, tactics, and culture his side has been advocating. That’s why the Founders adopted Montesque’s Separation of Powers, they understood this truth.
