Are Leftists: friends of the little guy? That is the cloak they cover themselves with. But are they really friends of the average American? They insist on being judged the promises they make and the intentions they aspire to. Leftists never want to be held accountable to their actual results.
The cloak they wrap themselves in is nothing more than platitudes. They will say anything they need to in order to get to a life of power and privilege. Don’t believe that? Okay, let’s try an example from the Triblive.com out of Philadelphia.
Meet Movita Johnson-Harrell
Pennsylvania lawmaker, Rep. Movita Johnson-Harrell who is a Democrat from Philadelphia is saddled with the accusation of bilking a charity she founded. The Representative allegedly swindled the charity out of more than $500,000. Again, this is an allegation but she did announce Thursday she is resigning. This may be an indicator; though she is innocent until she has had her day in court.
She told Pennsylvania House Speaker Mike Turzai in a letter her resignation will take effect on Dec. 13. Again, she disputes many of the allegations against her. Her letter says she is resigning, in part, to focus on her criminal defense. The letter indicates she takes responsibility for “some missteps” she made before her election.
The allegations against Rep. Johnson-Harrell are that: She took money from the charity, Motivations Education & Consultation Associates. She was diverting Medicaid and Social Security disability funds for her own use. The charity helps people with mental illness, intellectual disabilities, substance abuse problems and other challenges.
The prosecutors
Prosecutors allege the Representative spent the charity’s money on: designer clothing, multiple fox coats, payments on a Porsche, tuition for a relative and travel to Mexico and Florida. Charges against her include: theft, perjury, records tampering and other offenses. Her arraignment was Wednesday. The Representative is out on $50,000 unsecure bail. A preliminary hearing is on the schedule for Dec. 18.
Attorney General Josh Shapiro said Wednesday Johnson-Harrell engaged in systematic corruption and lied for years to cover it up. The accusations are that she fleeced a charity out of government funds. Those government funds were to support people with disabilities and substance abuse issues. She used that money for a luxury lifestyle.
Conclusion
So let’s get this clear; she admits to ‘some missteps’ do you understand what that statement means? She is a leftist legislator. Her election campaign was run on traditional Democrat promises. She is knew the purpose of the charity, what it did, how it did it and who it represented itself as helping. Is she an isolated case or part of a larger trend?
