I wrote this as a Letter to the Editor in 2006, and now, 17 years later, its meaning still holds true. Our lives since 9/11 have yet to return to normal as some of our liberties have not been restored. There is not a student in K-16 that was alive on that beautiful September morning, so it is imperative to keep the story alive.
Patriotism
Brittney, Biden, and Star-Spangled Banners
WNBA star Brittney Griner is experiencing the hell of Russian incarceration. That’s not a unique experience. Tens of millions of human beings suffered and died in Communist gulags and prisons over the past century. While Griner is presumably not being tortured or starved like so many of her prison predecessors, her confinement is surely brutal, … Read more
Despicable Democrats Compare September 11th, 2001 to January 6th, 2021
I have long held most Democrats in low regard. It is my firm belief that their ever-leftward dash to full-on communism will be the destruction of our nation, state, and local institutions.
Data Point – Pride in America is Far From Dead
“Contrary to pundits who say patriotism is a thing of the past, a new survey from Issues & Insights/TIPP finds that 68 of those surveyed profess to be either “very” or “extremely” proud to be Americans.”
Data Point – Is Yours The Most Patriotic State in America; The Least Patriotic?
Much has been made of how the younger generations increasingly see this Country as evil and racist. The Left has poisoned their minds. Told them that the United States was conceived in slavery.
Is This the Fate of Patriotism in America?
In just a few days, we’ll be celebrating Independence Day, traditionally a day of boundless pride in America. But something’s changed in recent years.
Russia vs. America
THIS. Whom do you want defending you country, your loved ones, your very life? The Russian who loves his country, and spends every waking moment turning himself into an ever more lethal fighting machine for that country. Or the individual who believes that her country is racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, etcetera and that the greatest … Read more
Are we gonna start seeing “Paying your taxes is Patriotic!” again? Shameless
Well, we’re already seeing that with Biden apparently winning the Oval Office (but remember that the political Fat Lady hasn’t sung yet), Democrats are already starting to “fall back in love” with the American flag (KTVU) after 4 years of all-but-despising it because Trump was President (whereas most on the Right ALWAYS are in love … Read more
Is There still Time to Rekindle America’s Spirit of Pride?
Americans haven’t always seen eye-to-eye on all issues. From the beginning, long before there were Democrats and Republicans, there were opposing political parties offering contrasting solutions to the problems facing our country.
NH Ranked ‘Most Patriotic State’ in America – Wyoming is Second, Idaho Third…
Wallet Hub’s latest US States ranking report is out, and New Hampshire is number one for Patriotism. Let’s take a look at what they think qualifies and how the Granite State managed to grab the top prize.
Looking at the words of the Pledge
Skip ended his recent piece about the Pledge of Allegiance by saying: ‘Words have meanings but when you don’t know and understand what those words mean…’
So let’s take a closer look at those words, shall we?
Yet another “Man in the Street” interview: Go ahead, college kid, say the Pledge
Pledge of Allegiance (to the United States) – how has this become so controversial? Across the blogosphere, we’ve seen college groups, city councils, Democrat committees, local group, all reject saying what is “I continue to pledge my fealty to the United States.”
Consequences of Changing American Values
The preamble to our Constitution concludes with the words “secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity.” This is the way the people who wrote our Constitution envision its purpose. A blessing is what is good in the eyes of God. It is a good whose possession properly belongs only to those who … Read more
2019: New Hampshire “Most Patriotic State” in the Nation (How’d Your State Do?)
New Hampshire popping up on a “best of” list is not new. Best for low overall taxes, high quality of life, low poverty, outstanding health outcomes, and more recently, an excellent growing increasingly business-friendly state economy. This number one ranking for Most patriotic seems like another feather in the cap.
603 Summit: “Barbara from Harlem”
That’s right – the name is “Barbara from Harlem”. No, I have no idea what her last name is – don’t really care as anyone who has ever heard her talk about what America means to her, the values for which it stands, well, nobody cares what her last name is. All they REALLY care … Read more
Thanks, Progressive Democrats – you’re making his words come true
I decided to review the comments that Steve alluded to on the “not a word but just a socially awkward boffin and a topless SJW” 2014 Top post because, well, because I can – it amused me. And this popped up: Which didn’t amuse me at all because of what it has become. No, Joe … Read more
Poll are saying that Democrats are the least patriotic Americans. They’ll hate this little clip
(H/T: Instapundit)
Can’t get a lot more patriotic than this – and from Hollywood, too! That is, the Hollywood of yore when actors actually (GASP!) served in the US military). As to the Gallup poll:
Blogline of the Day – This is not, as the Progressives would have you believe, “jingoism”.
Preamble:
Yesterday, President Trump addressed the graduating class at the U.S. Naval Academy. He told the incoming naval officers, “you are winners, you are warriors.” Trump praised the resolve of the U.S. armed forces and America’s achievements, stating:
Our ancestors trounced an empire, tamed a continent and triumphed over the worst evils in history. We are not going to apologize for America. We are going to stand up for America.
This is shameless nationalism. Isn’t it great?
The Line:
Show me a nation or a people that has prevailed over determined adversaries without this sort of pride in its ancestors and its history.
The Question:
I bet that the Libs are all bent out of shape due to the Bruins, the Celtics, and the Red Sox
Jingoism: Jingoism is fanatical, over-the-top patriotism. For what seems to be forEVAH, we Conservatives hear from Libs that our feelings towards our country are jingoistic – over the top because we DO like this country and many of us love this country. We love its traditions, we love the flag waving, we love singing one … Read more
The kids are all right….
Just because you’re young, doesn’t mean that you have to be dumb. These kids may be young, but they’re not stupid. They know.
