AND then Gov. Sununu’s campaign Manager Paul Collins for accepting it?
The news broke last night Statewide – but I actually “nuanced” the story yesterday morning on Life with Liz radio show. Here is the check that I spoke about:
Ken interviews NH State Representative Barbara Comtois, member of the audit committee for Gunstock and clerk of the Belknap County Delegation and John Plumer, also a member of the audit committee and candidate running for NH State Senate in District 2. I’ve known that the existence of this newly discovered $1,000 check had been rumored for a while but I was asked to remain silent. However, loyal reader (and relatively new – THANKS for reading GraniteGrok!) Commenter Manny brought this up last night on my post (“Gunstock – Somebody Gave NH State Rep Harry Bean Really … Read more

And it wasn’t because the Gunstock Area Commissioners, their bosses, rearranged the Belknap County Complex meeting room such that the Sr. Management was put into the front row of the Public’s seating area instead of having tables of their own like the GAC. As the result of an RSA 91:A demand, I now have the same … Read more
AND then Gov. Sununu’s campaign Manager Paul Collins for accepting it?
The news broke last night Statewide – but I actually “nuanced” the story yesterday morning on Life with Liz radio show. Here is the check that I spoke about:
Remember (and I’ll keep doing so) Tim Lang is the State Rep that was Sununu’s buddy during the long pandemic of deciding who among we NH residents were essential – and who wasn’t.
After seeing Sununu’s letter on the Gunstock situation, it just confirmed to me and many others that Sununu has to go. I wonder if Sununu is connected to the Citizens of Belknap movement, where this group is trying hard to confuse people.
At the Gunstock Area Commission’s monthly meeting last night, the GAC planned discussions with management about ongoing expansion plans. Instead of discussing those plans, the GAC was met with an unsolicited and spontaneous resignation by senior managers and a commissioner.
WMUR: State Sen. Giuda announces retirement, endorses Rep. Lang as replacement Not 10 minutes after he got booted from the Committee of Conference where his bill to redo Gunstock went down in flames as Chuck Morse shoved him out of the way. Now, I can’t take total credit for this prophecy made back on April … Read more
Stubborn, he is – Tom Day, General Manager / President of the Gunstock Mountain Resort (“GMR”). He had decided to refuse to turn over the Governmental Record known as the GMR fiscal budget claiming that it was proprietary and confidential even after I had shown the Gunstock Area Commission (“GAC”) that a previous GMR budget … Read more
It’s amazing what happens when folks that realize that a Government agency whose function is to make snow get elected to the Gunstock Area Commission and start to turn the canoe around to be realized as such instead of being thought of as a private company.
The GAC oversees the Gunstock Mountain Resort and Ski area (owned in total by Belknap County, making it a government agency that makes snow), and this was the first meeting after the appointment of new Commissioner David Strang.
This is the story of how the Gunstock Area Commission (the “GAC”) and its so-called “leadership” wasted over $100,000 of taxpayer assets.
Gunstock Mountain Resort is wholly owned by Belknap County and the Gunstock Area Commission is a political subdivision of Belknap County. All revenues received at Gunstock are therefore owed by the taxpayers of Belknap County.
Leadership in any organization starts at the top, but so does rot. The past so-called leadership of the Gunstock Area Commission (the “GAC”) exemplifies these principles.
The Gunstock Area Commission (GAC) is a public body and is required to operate in compliance with RSA 91-A. If they were following the law there would be minutes and notices coming from the Master Planning Committee outlining the work of the committee.
These are the times that try men’s souls.
We are living through what appears to have been a man-made pandemic that has cost our country many thousands of jobs and businesses, small and large, that have simply disappeared.
Several nights ago, I was having dinner with a Gilford friend at Johnson’s Seafood & Steak in New Durham. The food was excellent, as always, and the conversation ultimately turned to Belknap County government, which produced indigestion for both of us. My friend wanted to know exactly what essential governmental functions are performed by Belknap … Read more
