Gunstock Mountain Resort – I Just Got a New Batch of Homework to Do

It’s amazing what happens when folks that realize that a Government agency whose function is to make snow get elected to the Gunstock Area Commission and start to turn the canoe around to be realized as such instead of being thought of as a private company.

I had put in more RTKs into the hopper in addition to the first one demanding the emails of Prez/GM Tom Day and CFO Cathy White:

  • In and outbound emails from the first of the year for Robin Rowe, Director of Resort Services
  • In and outbound emails, from the first of the year, for Rebecca LaPense, Director Human Services
  • The current operational Budget, at the General Ledger line level, in spreadsheet form

There had been a lot of angst by Tom Day over honoring that Budget demand.  This past Wednesday night at the latest Gunstock Area Commission meeting (I was up at Dartmouth College so I couldn’t attend), the full complement of GAC Commissioners were present, including newly elected Commissioner Doug Lambert, voted to release the Budget to me. All three items released were two days ago.

Cool!

And now I have a lot of work to do and that will include doing some cross-matching back to the original RTK of the two weeks of Tom Day and Cathy White emails. Learning the Budget structure and priorities will also take some time so if you don’t hear from me, know that I’m studying and doing my homework.

Heh!  TMEW, as I write this, is “homeschooling” the Grandson to buttress what he’s been doing at school – she has decided that she WILL make sure that there will be no backsliding on learning.

The Grandson said he was done with homework (as in “I don’t want to do this anymore” as opposed to “I finished it all!”).  He had this dumbfounded look on his face when I told him that he’ll be doing homework for the rest of his life. And his jaw dropped when I told him that I just got a new batch of homework of my own to do.
