Notable Quote – “…A Battle Between Freedom and Subjugation”

June 9, 2023 Skip

Emphasis mine: Condemning capitalism is nothing new in this country. We’ve heard the angry criticisms all of our lives, and they weren’t novel when we were young. It’s tragic, really, that so many in the West see the tension between “capitalists” and their ideological opponents as merely a conflict between ideas about which economic system … Read more

Redux: “Conservatives Believe That The Best Form of Welfare Is A Job. Govt Thinks Otherwise.”

May 6, 2023 Skip

It was true back in 2011, and it is still true today. Conservatives believe in the honor and dignity in work. Progressive don’t believe in a hand-up and are willing to supply a hammock forever.

The Very Principle of Freedom Is Alien to the Islamic Belief System.

April 22, 2023 Amil Imani

Whereas the practice of slavery enslaves the body, the dogma of apostasy ensnares the mind. Whereas slavery is a shameful practice of the past, some shameless religionists still use the doctrine of apostasy to intimidate and severely punish people who elect to choose their own beliefs.

Progressives Go From “You Shouldn’t Do That” to “We’ll Make Gov’t Make You Do That” in 3 Heartbeats

From my friend John Hawkins (Culturcidal), a post named “Is This Liberal Right That It’s Wrong to Own Pets?“. The relevant part from his post (emphasis mine):

We No Longer Have a Country

December 24, 2022December 24, 2022 Amil Imani

Well, my friends, I hate to break the news. After carefully studying the latest Twitter materials, I realized we no longer have a country. Yes, that is what I said. Why? In large part because:

Let These Courageous Chinese Protestors Inspire Us

December 6, 2022 Op-Ed

COVID is the conspiracy to Control, Observe, Vaccinate, and ID everyone. Many courageous people in China are offering us an opportunity to wake up to this fact. Whatever our faith, let us take a moment to pray for these people who risk their lives to put their humanity and their souls ahead of their fear.

Authority Has Been Delegated, but Responsibility Has Not

September 17, 2022 Op-Ed

America is in uncertain times. Most are focusing on a unity of command approach in a desperate attempt to grab hold of the reins, to assert control. They do not understand that the reins are not theirs to grab. That is the people’s job; rather, what must be provided is a unity of direction.

Hey, This Democrat Nit-Wit Sounds Just like Former NH State Rep Cynthia Chase (as in “Let’s Make Life Harder for Our Residents!”)

October 24, 2022September 6, 2022 Skip

Ok, perhaps a bit of a stretch, but stick with me here. NH State Rep Cynthia Chase’s utterances concerning the Free State Project movers to NH (below) made it up to the Rush Limbaugh show years ago when Steve wrote about her. This video clip isn’t the Democrat herself but her Republican rival simply quoting/commenting … Read more

Notable Quote – Contra the Left that LOVES Communism, The Freedom It Promises Always Results in Slavery

July 21, 2022 Skip

Communism failed and is bound to fail for at least two reasons: one, that to enforce equality, its principal objective, it is necessary to create a coercive apparatus that demands privileges and thereby negates equality; and two, that ethnic and territorial loyalties, when in conflict with class allegiances, everywhere and at all times overwhelm them, … Read more

Quick Thought – This Is Correct; They Are Trying to Break Us

July 18, 2022 Skip

From Liberal Logic 101: Progressives, on the other hand, not only wish to crush that spirit but continue the process of forcing a dependency upon Government that started in the early 1900s. They believe they are entitled to Rule. Oh, not them personally (well, many of them) but knowing that the facade would be sufficient … Read more

Let Freedom Ring!

July 13, 2022 Op-Ed

This election cycle you have a clear choice. Do you want to be told what to do? Or do you want to be left alone? If you want to be left alone to go about your business with little to no government intrusion into all aspects of your life, then you value freedom.

Democrats, Abandon Ship!

July 7, 2022 Steve Earle

#WalkAway I’ve been saying and writing that what was once the Democratic Party of my youth is no longer that. The Party of Roosevelt and Kennedy is gone, highjacked by Marxist Socialists promoting an anti-American radical agenda, and robbing true Democrats and all Americans of our futures. Proof of this came from the Democratic Mayor … Read more

Brittney, Biden, and Star-Spangled Banners

July 6, 2022 Michael Moffett

WNBA star Brittney Griner is experiencing the hell of Russian incarceration. That’s not a unique experience. Tens of millions of human beings suffered and died in Communist gulags and prisons over the past century. While Griner is presumably not being tortured or starved like so many of her prison predecessors, her confinement is surely brutal, … Read more

Born Again on the Fourth of July

July 5, 2022 Aaron Warner

The United States of America was born of a minority of people overcoming seemingly impossible odds. Serious students of history tell us the founders who fought for their independence from tyrannical governance credited divine intervention throughout the Revolutionary War. Their enemy, the British Empire, boasted the greatest naval and military war machine on earth. The … Read more

Freedom just is – having to ask permission means it doesn’t exist

(H/T: Skip, September 12, 2014)

We are closing in on 47,000 published posts at GraniteGrok; we’ve covered a lot of issues, concerns, questions, and trouble. A lot of times, by several of us, and often, the same thing comes back up in different guises.

Notable Quote – And This Is How They Will Destroy America

May 30, 2022 Skip

I don’t get chances to abstract much from Kurt Schlicher’s columns even as I read them all the time – he writes in a style that DEMANDS the entirety be read in toto and it’s hard to excise a part to be standalone; all of the sections are required to get the gestalt of his point. This, I hope, stands alone in part, especially when combined with Michael Graham.

Consequences Are Not Problems

May 26, 2022 Ian Underwood

Sadly, there has been another school shooting, this time in Texas. Also sadly, there are people who have been waiting around to use something like this as an excuse for dragging out every anti-gun measure that they haven’t been able to enact in the past.

Safeguard the Precious Treasure of Freedom

May 4, 2022May 4, 2022 Amil Imani

Patriots,

Do not allow the current political climate to affect your spirit or diminish your energy. Also, do not allow anger and frustration to control your life. If you do, we all lose. Remember, you are not alone. There are over 100 million of us. If we are united, we can move mountains.

Notable Quote – Capitalism Requires Both Individual Freedom and Respect for Private Ownership

April 26, 2022 Skip

Capitalism is an economy based on decentralized private ownership of resources and open markets; “based on” means that private ownership rights are acknowledged and respected. Most members of society must feel a duty to respect the private rights of others. Ownership rights must be exercisable without fear, ridicule, or disrespect from other members of society. … Read more

Notable Quote – Only Capitalism Puts the Individual Foremost. Everything Else Puts the State First

March 16, 2022 Skip

As Hayek frequently repeated, many intelligent and informed people of his day had been taken in by the claim that National Socialism was the next logical and historical phase of a collapsing capitalism. His point, one that most would accept today as evident, was that fascism and communism both represent totalitarian systems that have much more in … Read more
