In an unexpected move, the Board of Alderman has voted against implementing a curfew for the city. of Nashua. The ordinance would have required already struggling bars and restaurants to close at 9:30, but the vote wasn’t even close.
The political will exerted to slow the spread has not slowed th spread. Masks don’t do it, nor does distancing or other restrictions. But, as we’ve been pointing out, that hardly matters when catching COVID19 presents little real risk of hospitalization or death for any one in the state under 70 in NH.
It is one thing if we are told you have to give up your liberty and freedom and return, we’re going to save your life. But that is not what is being said. You have to give up all your freedoms and they’re wrong on the science.
Imagine living in a town of 10,000 people. According to national averages, 75 people in your town will die annually from all causes – cancers, accidents, Alzheimer’s, strokes, pneumonia, heart attacks.* Each death is sad, but this is our reality since time immemorial.
The math is the thing. Test more people, find more cases, but does that mean anything? Not really. Not to the majority of productive working-age people in New Hampshire. Nor is it a concern to the majority of consumers. But Karen wants what Karen wants.

This update is later than usual, busy day, but good news. Based on the expert’s pandemic NH data mill, the survival rate for those who test positive (for COVID19) in every age group continues to rise.
