Data Point – We Locked Down the Entire Country Because of 50 Counties???

masks false sense of protection

Every death is a tragedy for family and friends but you don’t make policy on anecdotes and you shouldn’t make policy for an entire country just based on the WuFlu deaths in the worst 50 counties (with 3,121 counties in the US). From the Heritage Data Visualization:

One Percent of U.S. Counties Account for Bulk of COVID-19 Deaths

Through August 26, there have been 178,226 deaths in the U.S. from COVID-19, but a significant proportion of those have occurred in just a handful of counties. In fact, the 30 counties with the most deaths represent 1 percent of all counties, 18 percent of the total U.S. population, and 41 percent of all U.S. deaths.

I took their interactive tool and took it to the max of the top 50 counties (that would be 1.6% of all counties in the US) and got this:

So, NH Governor Chris Sununu – why are we still locked down?  And don’t you DARE say it is because of the States around us because our own history says that we (and to a lesser degree, Maine and Vermont) haven’t been affected by the hotspots of NY, MA, CT, or RI or our numbers, even percentage-wise, would be similar. We aren’t even CLOSE to be in the top worst counties; Plymouth County (where I grew up) in MA has almost twice (738) deaths than our entire state. Our highest county is Hillsborough with 286 deaths (66% of the State total). We also all know that over 80% of NH deaths from WuFlu are from nursing homes and not the general population.

So we’re not even CLOSE to being in the top counties (my county, Belknap, only has 4 deaths). Stop lying about there still being an Emergency in NH with because now you’re acting like an elected King instead of a mere elected representative. The initial goal was to “Flatten the curve” to prevent hospital over-utilization (more sick and dying than ICU beds). There are only SEVEN (7) WuFlu cases in NH Hospitals.

Call it a win and pack it in for the day. Open everything up now. Remember, you’re not my Nanny and you’re certain not my Mother. Stop acting like it.
