Last week, the New Hampshire House showed it understands the gravity of our time, advancing reforms within its budget to end the current State of Emergency and restore a balance of powers in our state. We owe these men and women a debt of gratitude.

House Budget Cuts State Spending, Taxes
The 2022-23 state budget passed in the state House of Representatives on Wednesday would reduce state general and education fund spending by 1.4% below actual 2020-21 state spending. The reduction from what legislators approved in the last session is even larger.
We Should Be Raising Business Taxes, Not Cutting Them
The budget passed by the House cuts business taxes. More specifically, I understand that the Business Profits Tax will be reduced from 7.7% to 7.6% and the Business Enterprise Tax will be reduced from .6% to 0.55%. My question is WHY. Why at the very time that big woke corporations are working with the Democrat Party … Read more

Data Point – Federal Debt FY2006-2021
At what point is “enough Debt is enough”? Probably not until interest rates go from 1% to 10% in an afternoon when the Fed stops buying Treasury notes – and no one else is either. At that point, not only will America’s financial status be junk, our enemies will know that everything else is as well.

If We Can’t End Our Dependence on Money Laundered Through DC, No One Will Ever Live Free
Back in 2018, before the midterm elections, the warnings were there. The country class elected Trump in 2016, and the ruling class was very unhappy about that. The Left was well into their war plan to claw it back by any means necessary.
Gov Sununu Proposes Tax and Spending Cuts – Nashua Mayor Says He’ll Have to Raise Taxes
We predicted this from the earliest days of the government-imposed reductions in tax revenue (‘cuz COVID19). Democrats would slaughter their tax base with restrictions then punish taxpayers afterward by raising taxes. Republicans might cut spending to offset the pain they caused.
The Minimum Wage is Actually Zero
If you have no job, you have no wages. When that is the case you are getting the minimum wage. ZERO dollars per hour. Biden has a plan to raise the federal minimum wage to $15. If we go there it will kill over a million jobs according to the CBO. Do you trust your government?
HB576 lives on as HB459!
Maybe NO will Finally Mean NO when it comes zeroing out General Ledger items in a budget prepared by a Budget Committee. As longer term readers know, I was on my hamlet’s BudComm for three – three year terms (see “Tales from the BudComm“) and I had discovered a technical flaw in the budget process … Read more

The Bleg: I’m Looking for Help: Budget Folks, Software Folks, and Those That Do Both.
Son of HB576 lives! Maybe NO will Finally Mean NO
When a Budget Committee decides to zero out a General Ledger account line item in a budget, it is supposed to be No means No! For that line item, you can’t spend a penny on it. I wrote House Bill 576 (HB576) because I learned that is not how it really worked.
Nashua Residents: Expect a Hefty Increase in Your Tax Bill Next Year.
Nashua residents really need to start looking at what our mayor and Board of Aldermen are doing with our tax dollars.
NH Gov. Chris Sununu – We’re Going to Cut Some More Taxes
Progressive groups are mad at their political puppets. How can they possibly get their way if Republicans are running everything? Is the answer to move to Vermont, Massachusetts, CT, RI, NY, NJ, even Maine? No, ruin, New Hampshire! Well, not yet!
