From my inbox: Anyone else find it funny that NH’s loony-left bills mirror Maine’s almost exactly? For the sake of perspective, does anyone else find it funny that Maine’s loony left bills mirror New Hampshire’s almost exactly?
NH Democrats Vote to Give Illegal Aliens Drivers’ Licenses
New Hampshire Democrats just voted to give drivers’ licenses to illegal aliens. HB 397 provides a list of foreign documents anyone can use to obtain one. Including expired alien registration cards. A driver’s license is that thing that makes almost everything possible. The “document” of choice. Keys to the kingdom. Including the ability to vote. … Read more
Winning: You Helped Kill New Hampshire’s Wretched Unnecessary Pet-Czar Bill (HB688)
I think congratulations are in order. In February we reported on a bill to create what I called the Pet Czar. A law granting regulatory authority to an agency that would cost millions annually to boss pet owners and hobby breeders around. A gross act of overreach. An absurd abuse of power. A law that, “would create … Read more
Sue Ragen thinks an 18 year old should continue to be infantilized?
More on the Rachel Phelan issue To recap: Rachel Phelan, an 18-year-old high school student, wrote an Op-Ed about the negotiations between the Manchester teachers and the Manchester School Board. Rich Girard, head of those negotiations for the School Board, emailed her to correct some factual errors. Then it blew up, and David Scannell decided … Read more
What the Hell are We Doing?
by Rebecca Bailey It’s no wonder that almost 6,175 people voted in Hanover and 2,590 in Plymouth a vast majority being democrats leading to losses for County seats and executive council. (see quote below and view the link provided) Meanwhile, we the Grafton County and State Republicans, have in-fighting over ridiculous issues. We hang onto … Read more
Jeff ‘Awaiting Trial for Domestic Abuse’ Woodburn Deletes Serious Questions about North Country
Jeff Woodburn is currently awaiting trial on charges that he abused his girlfriend over a period of time. Of course, Woodburn is innocent until proven guilty (he’s a Democrat, if he were a Republican, the Democrats would have demanded he resign, immediately). Today, a Granite Stater asked Woodburn what he has done to actually make … Read more
NH Democrats Force Victim of Domestic Abuse Out of ‘Office’ While Her Democrat Abuser Stays
Last week the alleged victim of Democrat State Sen. Jeff Woodburn (Woodburn is charged by the New Hampshire Attorney Generals Office with nine counts of domestic abuse), was driven from her post as the Coos County Democratic Committee chair “after her lawyer maintained she was given the choice of backing Woodburn’s election or resigning her post.” Support … Read more
Is Your Local School Board Breaking the Law?
Ann Marie Banfield, writing last week, pointed out that some school boards around the state pay membership dues to the New Hampshire School Board Association (NHSBA) which then lobbies the legislature. State law prohibits the School Board from using any taxpayer dollars (so no money from the school budget) to pay those “dues.” It is … Read more

Guest Post: The Debate on 3D Printed Guns
If you’ve been paying any attention to the news at all in recent weeks, you’ve no doubt heard about the controversial subject of 3D printed guns. 3D printed guns are indeed exactly what they sound like: a gun that can be downloaded and assembled using a 3D printer and the right materials.
Democrat Coos County Vice Chair Resigns over Woodburn Scandal
If you don’t remember the name Ted Bosen, he’s the guy in some of the north country Democrat email threads I shared (here) who was offended by the way “The Party” treated an alleged victim of domestic abuse. That and the Democrat establishment wagon circling around State Sen. Jeff Woodburn, arrested on 9 counts of domestic abuse, … Read more
“North Country Democrats” Choose Politics Over People on Woodburn Assault
We’ve talked about Jeff Woodburn’s domestic assault charges. We have covered the differing responses from the Democrat Party and the faithful. The Public responses.
Behind the scenes, at least up in the North County, the victim is not viewed kindly. Politics, it appears, comes before people and these individuals are not waiting to blame the victim of Jeff Woodburn’s alleged assault if Democrats lose a State Senate Seat.
Margaret Drye – Dedicated to Our Community
For almost four decades, I have been responding to Plainfield and Cornish homes and roads as an EMT with Cornish Rescue. As a result, I have seen the opioid epidemic up close, and I have also seen the many medical, physical, and financial challenges our senior citizens face.
There’s a reason why NH ranks much higher than Maine
“…The compilation data is stunning.
In many of the selected reports, Maine lagged far behind New Hampshire for competitiveness for new industry, tax burden, cost of doing business, workforce education, infrastructure, regulatory environment and labor supply. New Hampshire came in, nationally, as the 15th best state in terms of business climate and taxation — the best in New England, by a long shot. Maine’s average score designated our state the 34th best for business climate, trailing every other New England state except Connecticut.
But the rub becomes apparent when one studies the data.
Maine’s Embrace of Broad Based Taxes vs. New Hampshire NOT Doing That.
Our good friend Michael Graham, writing at NH Journal, has an article titled “Study: Maine Vs. N.H. Shows “More Government Means More Poverty.”
The annual Family Prosperity Index is out and, while New Hampshire didn’t make the Top 10 (it’s ranked #16), the study’s authors did use the Granite State to make their case for more economic liberty vs. reliance on government. They used the case study of New Hampshire and its neighbor, Maine (FPI ranking: #39).
The result of Maine’s dancing with the tax devil in the “blue” moon light? More government, a shrinking private sector, and one of the highest dependency cultures in the nation.
Maine Democrats Block Effort to Make FGM Illegal
The New Hampshire legislature passed legislation last week prohibiting Female Genital Mutilation of a minor in the Granite State. Governor Sununu is expected to sign it. Maine’s majority Democrat House decided not to support similar legislation.
This week, Maine House Democrats sent a clear message that female genital mutilation (FGM) performed on young girls should not be a crime in their state. So much for child abuse prevention.
Will FGM advocates in New Hampshire be taking day trips to The Pine Tree State? Not legally.
HB 628: Coos County Reps Vote to Tax Your Income.
I am dismayed that the entire Coös County delegation, both Democrat, and Republican, voted for an income tax on all non-public employees, via House Bill 628, the “Family Medical Leave Insurance” bill. The only exceptions were Robert Theberge, who voted nay, Bing Judd, who didn’t vote, and Edith Tucker, who was excused.
Supporters deny that it is an income tax, but it literally requires that employers collect and remit a percentage of employees’ wages: that is the very definition of an income tax.
Non-Immigrant granted H-1B Visa to”work” as a Progressive political activist in NH
Congratulations to Viola Katusiime, Granite State Organizing Project’s (GSOP) Family, and Economic Security Organizer. She’s been waiting a year, and her H-1B visa was finally approved.
I’m no expert on non-immigration or H-1B visa’s, but I can read and agitating to advance mostly left-wing priorities, even with the best of intentions, does not appear to me to be one of the qualifying factors.
The H-1B is a non-immigrant visa in the United States under the Immigration and Nationality Act, section 101(a)(17)(H). It allows U.S. employers to temporarily employ foreign workers in specialty occupations. …
The “Value and Vision” of Maine Democrats is to laugh at white men committing suicide
It is clear that that the Democrat Party has lost a lot of white men as voter in the last few elections as they have moved to identity group politics where white men are at the bottom of their totem pole (if not totally removed with a dull chainsaw just to make it hurt worse). … Read more
