NH Only State in Northeast to Rank in Top 10 For Business Climate

Tax Foundation Business Tax Climate map 2018The Tax Foundation has ranked New Hampshire 7th overall nationally in 2018 for business tax climate. This is excellent news particularly when we compared to our northeastern neighbors.

Massachusetts ranks 22nd. Maine Ranks 28th. Rhode Island is 41st, Connecticut 44th, and Vermont 47th. If you want to include New York, they rolled in at 49. And not one of them is doing anything to improve things.

But New Hampshire is.

New Hampshire’s Budget Voodoo Path to Expanded “Expanded Medicaid”

Bradley care full size Medic adeOn Saturday I referenced the passage of expanded Medicaid out of the State Senate. The new Bradley-Care Bill, SB313, complete with a new and improved five-year plan (instead of two, cue the Soviet national anthem) got the yeah votes of every Democrat in the New Hampshire Senate and seven out of fourteen “Republicans.”

The chief cheerleader of SB313 is also the chief facilitator of Medicaid Expansion in New Hampshire, Republican Senator Jeb Bradley who is, naturally, excited about the bipartisan support for his otherwise wholly progressive undertaking.

How come it took us SO long to recognize this?

I just don’t understand – how could this many genders pop-up so suddenly and at this time in history?  Has the “arc of History” that Progressives keep yammering about just wrapped itself into a pretzel? (H/T: Powerline)

Steve Negron at WDL 2A Rally
Steve Negron at WDL 2A Rally

One of the first folks I ran into at the rally was loyal reader and commenter was Allen and his better half – just wanted to say “Hi” again!

I also ran into Steve Negron who announced a while ago that he was going to be running in the Republican Primary to become that Party’s nominee to challenge Democrat Ann Kuster.

Anyways, just a quick ‘Grok interview – I’m sure we’ll be seeing him in the future.

Women’s Defense League of NH 4th Annual Gun Rally – Kimberly Morin

Kimberly Morin WDL 2A Event
Kimberly Morin Speaking at the WDL 2A Event in Concord

Well, I screwed up royally yesterday. For some reason, I thought the rally started at 2 pm and so, following my normal protocol of “arriving early” to help with setup, I drove down to the State House in Concord NH and arrived a few minutes before 1 pm. Turning onto the street next to the State House, my first thought was “WHY are so many cars here already?” and then saw the crowd and thought to myself “what, there’s another rally before the WLDNH one?” as there were a LOT of people already standing in front of the building.  Then I saw what everyone was carrying (what would you expect at a gun rally??) and the flags.  Sigh….just smack me around.

So, is Zandra Rice-Hawkins of Granite State Progress AND the NH Gun Violence Coalition going to denounce a guilty self-admitted violence perp?

Rep.-Rogers-Zandra-GSP

We have really lax firearms regulations,” says Zandra Rice Hawkins, executive director of Granite State Progress and a coordinator at the NH Gun Violence Coalition. “

No, we have Constitutional Rights there, Zandra.  You know, that pesky thing that keeps getting in your way. Oh, but it’s for the children, it’s for safety, it’s for….oh, never mind – sh’s simply promoting Progressivism (which demands complete civilian disarmament by the death of a 1,000 cuts) and Zandra Rice-Hawkins is all about Progressivism.  And so is:

Dozens of Dozens

'Dozens' of "protesters" at the WDL 2A Rally
“Dozen” of “protesters” at the WDL 2A Rally

If you ever questioned media bias, which is ridiculous because even the media is finally admitting it is biased, the “coverage” of yesterdays’ Women’s Defense league 2A rally should resolve this for you.

There wasn’t much coverage at all, but WMUR wins an award for slanted coverage.

Tales from the BudComm (sorta, sideways) – “Someone had decided to throw dirt….how quaint.”

BudgetThat was my response to this:

I guess the GTC mailing must have hit a nerve!!

because of this (reformatted, emphasis mine):

To The Daily Sun,

The town has received several inquiries about a recent mailing by the Gilford Taxpayers Coalition.  Please be advised the information being distributed IS NOT AFFILIATED with the Town of Gilford or the Board of Selectmen or the Office of the Town Clerk-Tax Collector. Accordingly, the town neither endorses nor condones the content of the mailing. The official recommendations of the Board of Selectmen, Planning Board and the Budget Committee are set forth in several warrant articles as noted on the ballot. No other positions have been expressed and no mailings have been sent by any Town of Gilford government officials.

Scott Dunn
Town Administrator, Gilford

It was also sent out by the Town’s e-blast system (after the jump).

This is hysterical! This takes a special kind of stupid to associate that name, Gilford Taxpayers Coalition, with the Town of Gilford. Now, there could be one of two reasons for this – or a special kind of stupid person (or group of people) – that would require a Town Administrator to denounce and deny that the Town has any affiliation with such a group:

This is rich coming from the guy that said “Hitler should have bombed it!” (meaning the Hague)

Yep, Chairman Mao Buckles Ray Buckley of the NH Dems wouldn’t know what gun safety is even if it bit him in the arse.  He’s just all out of sorts that people actually believe ALL of the US Constitution and the NH one as well:

Let’s review Buckles’ history, shall we?

Gilford Budget Committee – setting the record straight

Budget
By Norm Silber

To set the record straight regarding actions taken by the Gilford Budget Committee under my leadership, the real facts are (a) the Police & Fire budgets were never decreased in any of the prior 4 years; (b) the Fire budget was increased last year and this year to provide for the lease/purchase of a new fire truck (the new fire truck being the subject of heated debate and ultimate disapproval of an outright purchase long before I joined the Budget Committee) and a new fire boat;
