Smart, attractive, talented, capable, mom, wife, worked hard to become successful and she is. Dana can bring home the bacon and can fry it up in the pan. And liberals should love her. When President Trump signed tax reform into law the individual mandate to Obamacare, the fine – that taxing power Chief Justice Roberts claimed gave Congress the power to seize regulatory control over health insurance – ceased to exist. The tax is gone. It’s dead. No more.
If there is no tax, has the SCOTUS ruling that saved it lost its teeth?
Twenty States Attorney General think so and have challenged the constitutionality of Obamacare in its now neutered state.

Gilford may be an affluent town but not everybody in town is affluent. We need people in our elected positions who understand this dynamic. Gilford has many citizens that their only source of income is their Social Security check. Many people who work in the private sector have not seen raises for years on end. Obamacare has cost them dearly. Yet they are asked to keep supporting a never-ending rise in government costs.
This year we have contested positions for all of the Budget Committee seats.
When I hear adults are slobbering all over themselves by saying “listen to the kids – they know more than we do about guns” (re: Florida high school shooting), I just shake my head. “The BudComm is the last bastion to protect taxpayers wallets”; that’s what I say when asked what is the purpose of the Gilford Budget Committee. It takes into account, not just one or two “communities” within Gilford, but the entire community needs, wants – and what it can afford. While the Selectmen and School Board are concerned with their communities/functions, the BudComm is the only fiscal entity that takes everyone into account from the richest to the poorest, from the most active to those that just simply want to call Gilford “home” and otherwise wish to be left alone, and everyone else in between.

It is well known that news room are leftists – mere handfuls of reporters report being Republican and study after study show that media political donations just don’t skew Left, they ARE Left with hardly ever a donation to Republicans or Libertarians. Paul Mirski, in a public Facebook post, asks how anyone in New Hampshire with any understanding of how 400 years of Town meetings work would let illegal immigrants vote? To which I’d add, any non-resident of the town or state, including those who are pretending just long enough to cast an illegal ballot and then leave for the address listed on their government-issued ID or drivers license in another state.
Another American city succumbs to an all too common political resume-padding exercise, and the story remains the same. On January 1st, Flagstaff Arizona imposed an $11.00/hour minimum wage. The Daily Signal reports that the local Chamber of Commerce polled 200 local businesses about the forced increase and,

Yep, it’s that time of year, and in my hamlet, only the BudComm has contested races – go figure! The “Gilford Democrats” are all up in arms thinking that the BudComm members are going to take the their School Board budget and almost all of them are on the Government payroll (or family members are). Joe Wernig, who takes a paycheck from the School Board, threatened the BudComm members that were up for re-election to the effect of “we WILL take your seats” during the Public Session for the budget. Concord, NH – Today the NH Senate adopted a bill, SB 500, amending references to firearms terminology with the unanimous consent of the body. SB 500 received the unanimous recommendation of Ought to Pass from the NH Senate Judiciary Committee.
“I am pleased this common-sense bill updating references to firearms terminology passed the Senate. The committee worked hard on the bill and ultimately came together to offer strong bipartisan support for these measures,” said Senator Kevin Avard (R-Nashua), the bill’s prime sponsor.
