What does the TEA Party want?

They say, “If you’re taking flak, you’re over the target.”  Thus the TEA Party, whose common sense demands for fiscal responsibility and constitutionally limited government are shared by most Americans, is attacked by people who most likely never attended a TEA Party meeting or understood TEA Party documentation.

Thousands of TEA Party groups and millions of members agree that passing debt to our children and grandchildren is immoral and un-acceptable, and that government spending must be limited to government revenue.

“Hello There, Voter!”

This is really funny. Michele and I went to a great movie yesterday afternoon with Bruce Willis in it (Looper). When we came out, I found a little…sticker on my van’s driver-side window. You know, one of those little Post-It notes you use in the office? Here it is….

Notable Quote: Adam Smith

It is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker that we expect our dinner, but from their own interest.  We address ourselves, not to their humanity, but to their self love, and never talk to them of our own necessities, but of their advantages.  Nobody but a beggar chooses to … Read more

How to start a Fight – Part 3

My wife was hinting about what she wanted for our upcoming anniversary. She said, “I want something shiny that goes from 0 to 150 in about 3 seconds.” I bought her a bathroom scale. And then the fight started……

Notable Quote: Wisconsin State Legislature -1859

Resolved, That the government formed by the Constitution of the United States was not the exclusive or final judge of the extent of the powers delegated to itself; but that, as in all other cases of compact among parties having no common judge, each party has an equal right to judge for itself, as well … Read more

As the people of California destroy their state…

…could there be a place for their escaping businesses in New Hampshire? Read an interesting book review of “Crazifornia: Tales from the Tarnished State — How California is Destroying itself, and Why it Matters.” (As is often the case, the commentary following the article is even more enlightening than the review itself.) (h/t to Instapundit.)

Notable Quote: Democracy, Socialism and Equality

“Democracy and socialism have nothing in common but one word: equality But notice the difference: while democracy seeks equality in liberty; socialism seeks equality in restraint and servitude” — de Tocqueville

Interesting Question – Discuss!

From Instapundit: St. Paul public schools spend $17,000 per pupil per year.  This translates into $221,000 per pupil over the course of their k-12 career, and that does not include baby-sitting school…er…I mean “pre-school.” This got me thinking. “What if we just gave the kids the $221,000 instead of educated them?  Wouldn’t they be better … Read more

How to start a Fight – Part 1

I rear-ended a car this morning…the start of a REALLY bad day! The driver got out of the other car, and he was a DWARF!! He looked up at me and said ‘I am NOT Happy!’ So I said, ‘Well, which one ARE you then?’ That’s how the fight started.

How to start a Fight – Part 2

My wife was standing nude, looking in the bedroom mirror. She was not happy with what she saw and said to me, “I feel horrible; I look old, fat and ugly. I really need you to pay me a compliment.’ I replied, “Your eyesight’s darn near perfect.” And then the fight started……..

Data Point: Obama Plan – taxes going up for two million additional “victims”

After all, Democrats view everyone (almost) as a victim, right? And horrors – it is all on the Dems that have created this new victim gaggle!  And they state that 30 million folks will NOT be covered (er, wasn’t that the whole point of this boondoggle?) and 6 million (2 million more than planned – “unexpectedly!”) are going to have empty their wallets on the alter of OCare.

The Obama 2012 folks are NOT going to like this next piece of news:  not only are premiums not going down as President Obama promised (yet another Obama Promise hitting its expiration date) but according to the neutral Congressional Budget Office, with its latest scoring, has determined that Individual Mandate TAX is going to raise  taxes on folks making less than $200K/year (yet another Obama promise expired) as Obamacare is rolled out.  Those without healthcare will fall into this ObamaTax if they fall into the following:

  • No healthcare insurance for > 3 months
  • Household income from 138% – 400% of the Poverty Level
  • Household income at => 400% of the Poverty Level

Rep-Carol-Shea-Porter - I missed voting with Pelosi 100% by this much
I missed voting with Pelosi 100% by this much

Carol Shea-Porter (Sheep-Porter, SEIU-Porter, Shea-Pelosi, Clown-Porter,  etc), whose claim to fame is that she could have voted with Nancy Pelosi 100% of the time had she not missed 2% of the votes, is dutifully regurgitating the party line in New Hampshire in her 2012 effort to earn another two year-long conjugal visit with your wallet–She is running to save New Hampshire from the Tea Party.

One really big problem with that though…  while The TEA Party rose up when the Democrat spending binge began, their real claim to fame is opposing ObamaCare.  Oh, and driving a national movement that kicked Carol Shea- Porters ObamaCare supporting, tax and spend, backside back to Rochester New Hampshire where it should stay.

Ask Carol Shea-Porter About Tapping Into Wireless Left-Wing Hypocrisy

Warrant-less wiretaps under Obama up 361%Ask Carol Shea-Porter, well–ask any New Hampshire Democrat actually, about warrant-less wire taps.  Remember those?  The Democrats got all wound up about them under a previous president, but lets be honest; it was not because they really gave a damn about your rights or your privacy.

They got wound up because they viewed it as a political opportunity.  They felt that they could win votes and seats (and political power) by bashing George Bush and Republicans on that particular issue if they talked about it enough.

What’s that?  You don’t believe me when I tell you Democrats didn’t really care?  You don’t think it was just about politics and power?  Well why haven’t we heard a word out of them about this issue since Obama came to office?

Or didn’t you know?  According to the ACLUmore people were subjected to pen register and trap and trace surveillance in the past two years than in the entire previous decade.

Terrie Norelli and Sylvia Larsen: Jealous!?

Late in the 2007 session, when Democrats controlled the entire New Hampshire State Government for the first time in 95 years,  then House Speaker Terri “Billion Dollar Deficit’ Norelli and Senate President Sylvia Larsen figured the beginning of a recession was a great time to add a $72,000.00 bathroom remodel onto the backs of taxpayers.  … Read more
