Welcome to your Friday, Groktober 16th, 2026, morning update
High gas prices sucked under Joe Biden, but Democrats didn’t care
Inflation sucks, but Democrats didn’t care under Biden, and they actually passed legislation called the Inflation Reduction Act, that laundered hundreds of billions of dollars, all of which they defended, when it made inflation worse.
Democrats are, of course, right to run on these things. Inflation, high prices, and to do so in a vacuum because memories are short and the pain seems immediate and real.
Trump could have waited until after the midterms to go after Iran snd he may have miscalculated and it could cost him in the midterms. But everybody makes mistakes. Will this one cost the GOP and America?
It doesn’t have to.
There are a million other things wrong with Democrats, from creeping Sharia and Communism.
From other things muddled in the narrative waters that might be too abstract for most Americans to even consider, at least until it’s too late.
What isn’t is progressivism’s tyranny of wokism. DEI and the social justice terror industrial complex.
The Biden administration was likely complicit in how pressure groups convinced some of the largest institutions in the country to debank Christians and Conservatives. The banks used the SPLC hate map. Yes, the same SPLC that funded hate so that it could point at it to raise money.
If you bought a MAGA hat between 2021 and 2025, special counsel Jack Smith has a list with your name on it. One of many lists the left likely has to keep their promise to go after everyone when they’re back in power.
They are the party of the DSA and Islamo fascism. They are tyrants, and their voting base is batshit crazy.
Remember the Massachusetts lesbian bar whose patrons were outraged when it thought in the interests of its business, it might say just one night a week not require you to wear a medical mask.
The woke queers lost their collectivist hype mind and went ballistic on the owners of the bar.
Do you recall the queer baby gear at Target and how it insisted it had to protect employees from angry and outraged customers? But what they didn’t say was that the angry and outraged customers were members of the Gaystapo who were protesting Target moving or removing those items.
There are more examples than we can count. Sadly. But here’s a new one.
Quote: In September, the Baltimore Rock Opera Society announced that it was hiring Kelly Carnes as its executive director, citing her 21 years of experience and her work with the Smithsonian and the Kennedy Center. In the publicity photo, Carnes appeared to have some sort of Cruella De Vil hairstyle in which one side of her hair was black, and the other was white, possibly foreshadowing the racial hair drama soon to get her fired and become a national news story.
Carnes went to Burning Man and decided to style her hair in braids to keep the dust out in the desert air. Members of the Baltimore Rock Opera Society, who were mostly white, were offended by the braids, which they considered to be cornrows, a black hairstyle.
They forced her to apologize before they forced her to resign.
The Rock Opera Society was so triggered that it created a working group for culture, community, voice, and racial equity. Their goal was to revise their anti-discrimination rules, you know, just in case another white woman decided to braid her hair.
This in the hopes that they might avoid the heartache and thousand natural shocks that triggered progressive flesh’s heir to.
It’s an incredible burden being a left-wing mind reader. Scrying other people’s true intentions from thousands of miles away. Based on Kelly Carnes’ resume, she should have known better. But then there’s the rub. No one can.
Nor could the Rock Opera Society likely anticipate that their now-former director would sue them. Maryland’s Crown Act followed the usual template in many states classifying hairstyles as a characteristic of race. Fire someone for having a messy or ugly hairstyle, and you would be guilty of racial discrimination. So the question is, can a white woman be protected from being discriminated against over her hairstyle because of her race?
The Crown Act was calculatedly written to protect only one racial group’s hairstyles, but the legislators behind it never expected to deal with a racial hairstyle discrimination situation in which the fundamental problem was that hair was not attached to race, but detached from it.
I guess we’ll find out, but then that’s the point of today’s morning update. This is the very culture we voted to end when we elected Donald Trump and Republicans.
We don’t have to love everything they have or haven’t done. But the progressive alternative is angry, divisive, and destructive to people and our culture. It casts a shadow of doom that silences protected speech and infringes on our rights. It makes us overthink everything we want to do or might have to say.
This is who the left has become.
And while the economy will get better, gas prices will go down, food prices will improve, and the entire world will benefit from a defanged Iran, the left is a high-speed train wreck that’s only getting worse.
And giving them even a little bit of power is a really bad idea.
