So in the clusterfark that is Afghanistan, the entire world is either laughing at us – e.g., China, Iran, Russia (even if discretely) – or watching in horror as the world’s most powerful military not just cuts and runs, but can’t even evacuate every American citizen. And is telling those there they need to pay their own way out.
I keep hammering on this, but we must grasp that the Left truly believes themselves to be made from finer clay. Better, smarter, more noble, with only the purest of intentions:
David Ryan is the self-described “Doctor” and Super(awful)intendent of the occupied district formerly known as SAU 16. Pour yourselves a large serving of your adult beverage of choice and check out his latest proclamation:
So I am reading a fellow Jewish blogger’s blog and his post has several items worth highlighting specifically. And a few other things I’ve seen scattered around. But first, those few selections:
1. Shortages.
I was at the grocery store and I overheard three of the senior people – decades of experience – talking about how it’s harder to get items to stock on the shelves. I mentioned that to some of the stock clerks whom I have gotten to know and they concur: they’re having to get creative to keep shelves visually full.
Preface: There are very few forms of communication that cannot be misunderstood – let alone folded, twisted, and mutilated by malicious intent. Nonetheless, let me attempt to start off by saying the following:
I make my living in a STEM field – such has been my one and only career. I have designed and run experimental trials on myriad occasions (one such trial I did resulted in such a detailed report that the compliments for my thoroughness were legion from across the company).
If you don’t read these and shudder, then IMHO, you’ve lost your survival instinct. Unvaccinated players on two NFL teams have been told to wear yellow wristbands to distinguish them from vaccinated players.
On my old blog, I had a post about the coming Great Silencing. In it I predicted that blogs would be shut down, fascist book, gulag, twit, etc., would be cracking down and ruthlessly deleting wrongthink posts (if permitting them to go up at all thanks to algorithms and AI scanning). This would go well past the ongoing cancel culture and shadow banning to include emails and DMs.
Eons ago, when I was in high school and had to evade velociraptor packs and the occasional T-rex on the way to the train station to get to high school, I was watching a scaaaary movie while alone doing homework at the dining table.
In the interest of “throwing something together” here are a few assorted topics for you, in our host’s tradition:
1. Hyperinflation & the economic crash. They are a-comin’. Deutsche Bank Issues a Terrifying Warning for America Under Biden:
So this last weekend I was sniffing, sneezing, coughing up my lungs, and even had a mild fever. Not typically a day napper, I took not one but two naps on Saturday. I couldn’t focus (unusual for me even with a cold) and more or less autopiloted my way through the weekend.
I was in one of my favorite local area bakeries, family-owned. A classic small business which, preferentially, I support even if more expensive than the same product at a chain store. They have been following the mandatory mask ordinance of Nashua (which is in the process of being dropped).
I was still an atheist when I transferred colleges. I’d started out at a small liberal arts college – chosen because of its distance from home more than anything else – but realized that I’d erred and applied to a large university in my birth state. I was admitted.
I ventured into the wilds and attended the Rochester Granite Grok meet-up. Good time. I was especially gratified at Skip & Steve specifically mentioning me, and doubly so for actually getting what I’d call a significant amount of applause at that mention. So, wait, people actually read my stuff? Kewl!
