“You are not alone” in that you aren’t the only one person thinking that things in America have gone awry even as the Left and their shock troops in the media tried to convince we Normals that we were alone. Glen Reynolds (of Instapundit fame) famously brought the phrase “Preference Cascade” into the common (for bloggers) lexicon – that when people, who once though they were alone, find out that lots of others share what they believe to be only a personal belief, public beliefs can change almost overnight as the singletons become a throng – and then a Pack (in Alinsky-speak, the opposite of the Left’s “woke” organized as instead of a singular Organizer but as a self-directed team with no apparent leader).

Again, while there is the element of truth in “Primary voters select the nominees” what wasn’t mentioned in the politics that goes on behind the scenes. Sure, there are a number of NH GOP officials that are not supposed to openly take sides in a primary. Those of us that watch these kinds of races in details have seen how thumbs often come down on the scales. Help is slow in coming from above, the “word” goes out about candidates to stay away from giving to certain candidates. Popular activists that are desired to be on candidates staff are “warned” about their future.
Politics ain’t beanbags (as the saying goes) and the politics ARE high as the because so are the stakes.

Over and over again, this blog has chronicled how Leftists / Progressives / Democrats / Socialists preach one thing and then turn around and say something / do something else when they don’t think anyone is listening or watching. It never fails in that the rest of us catch them not living up to their own stated rule book: truthfulness, tolerance, no money in politics, and belief in the Constitution. Sure thing, pals.
Like uber-teenaged brat David Hoggs, high school drama student turned Progressive Darling for advocating the removal of law abiding citizens’ Second Amendment Rights (even as he ignores the immense failures of several layers of Government in his high school’s tragedy in keeping the murderer under lock and key on multiple occasions). It is utterly amazing to me how fast someone can become Mother Teresa-like from just being the Devil Incarnate when a Republican resigns. It seems that the Democrats start to pine for those who have left a Republican position or the political stage (e.g., both Bushes, Romney, even Nixon (to a degree)) and hold them up as “models” to be followed because the latest Republican resident of a given position has now assumed the hateful form with horns, tail, and a pitchfork demeanor. Or that guy with the funny mustache as is now being bandied about because the Democrats love using little children as political pawns.

Wow – just wow. RRftSotRP (Republican Republican for the Sake of the Rebin big steaming piles on this one. The writer is obviously upset in that there is not total agreement with NH GOP Party anointed candidates. The overriding message is exemplified by this:

I’ve been asked on a number of occasions to run for the NH House of Representatives and have turned them down because of work responsibilities. There was just no way to be able to keep my job AND do the job of a NH Rep correctly and fully. Plus, for full disclosure, when I ran for elective office in my hamlet, I promised the TEMW that I’d never run for higher office (and even though I tried my hardest ever this year, when I asked to be let out of my promise, the response was “the look” – yes, I was doomed from the start.
Sadly, a lot of these folks, mostly Republicans at the top of the Chart of No-Show Shame, should have been doomed as well as certainly the voters that spent their previous Votes on them got hoodwinked:
Bill Bunker, a conservative commentor over at the Concord Monitor (yes, there are a few!) actually had an Op-Ed piece published by said paper by the name above (reformatted, emphasis mine):
…Politics spills into every aspect of our society, including sports, entertainment, faith, education and even corporate America. No aspect of our lives is immune from toxic political sewage spewing from those with an agenda, ideology and thirst for power. What brings fans together at a sporting event is the game. Uniting behind our favorite team, we find common ground and sameness. We can be of a different race, economic class, gender, politics or faith, and we meet on common ground. Politics has eroded and is ruining that tiny bit of unity.
Athletes and media outlets like ESPN abuse their powerful celebrity pulpit, destroying what little common unity many of us have left. Subtle suggestions of our supposed racism and sexism in Super Bowl ads is a prime example of politics permeating the institution of sports and pitting one fan against the other.

These Harvard kids got the lesson of their life in the Heartland

I wish I could have been there.
Trump rightfully tossed it onto the ash heap of Obama’s “Arc of History” – it rightfully belongs there because it had no worth. Obama, like many other actions he took during his Presidency, only wanted to be seen as doing something rather than actually doing something and the Paris Accord belongs in it. What worth is there when only a President signs an “agreement”? Nothing – the next President can do exactly what Trump did. Obama was lazy – relying on Executive Orders and bureaucratic rulemaking which meant it could be done away with a flourish of a pen.
