Biden, “If it only saves one life.” Did Biden Say Something Rational? Yes, but He didn’t mean it.

Vice-President Biden surprised reporters by saying something that actually makes sense, unfortunately the administration intends to do something else.  Here is the rational part of what Biden said, “Nothing we’re going to do is going to fundamentally alter or eliminate the possibility of another mass shooting or guarantee that we will bring gun deaths down to 1,000 a year from what it is now.”

Here is the part that differs from what the administration intends to do, “But there are things that we can do, demonstrably can do, that have virtually zero impact on your Second Amendment right to own a weapon for both self-defense and recreation that can save some lives.”

Yes, there are things that could cut down crime and have virtually zero impact on the Second Amendment rights of law abiding people.    Here are a few things they could do:

The Democrats’ War on Women

Why do Democrats want women to be defenseless in the face of rapists and murderers? Why do Democrats want to ban self-defense when when violent criminals break in to our homes? At GraniteGrok.com, we report, you decide. (But anti-gun Democrats are insane.)

And so it begins……….a thought

Cowering Woman

Remember, Progressives hate women defending themselves.  Why?  Well, Susan just posted another case of “what as bad when Republicans did it, but fine when Democrats do it” – their faux cries of “settled law” (here and here).  Here we see the regressive nature of Democrats in trying to reverse the Natural Right to defend yourself.  No longer will it be lawful to defend your home (“castle”) or yourself where ever you happen to be – even if you do not “consent” to give your Right to the State in this regard.

This case illustrates wonderfully, beautifully is the difference:

Conservatives:

You have the Natural Right (and responsibility) to defend yourself.  The State should not force you to outsource that to itself.  Remember, the lives of you and your family, loved ones, and friends might depend on it.  Gun Control: firm grip, get the correct sight picture, and keep the muzzle pointed at the evil ones.  Carry on.

Progressives:

“I will not register my weapons should this bill be passed…”

An Open letter from Marine Cpl Joshua Boston to US Senator Diane Feinstein.

Senator Dianne Feinstein,

I will not register my weapons should this bill be passed, as I do not believe it is the government’s right to know what I own. Nor do I think it prudent to tell you what I own so that it may be taken from me by a group of people who enjoy armed protection yet decry me having the same a crime. You ma’am have overstepped a line that is not your domain. I am a Marine Corps Veteran of 8 years, and I will not have some woman who proclaims the evil of an inanimate object, yet carries one, tell me I may not have one.

That’s How I Was Raised…

Trained to live in a police state
Trained to live in a police state

I was wandering through a retail store yesterday when I happened through the baby section.  There was what the folks in manufacturing call a bottleneck–where things being what they are create a pinch point that slows or stops progress.  In this instance the “things” were people, with carriages (sleighs?) loaded down with goodies, placed at angles in the aisle to optimize the stoppage of movement in both directions, while they chatted with animated voices and nonthreatening hand gestures.

No threatening hand gestures from the other shoppers who were being inconvenienced but that may have come later.  I had no “sleigh” so I scooted around through children’s where I happened upon the cribs and baby monitors and that was when it occurred to me.

Jeanne Shaheen Wants to Ban Guns

Tragedy always attracts a parade of progressive mountebanks, anxious to peddle their faulty wares as cures for what ails us, and US Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D- Utopia) is no different.  In response to the heinous criminal acts perpetrated in Newtown, Connecticut she observed that

“We need a comprehensive approach that includes improving access to mental health services, better enforcement of our current laws, and we need to get deadly assault weapons off our streets.”

Whatever you do, do not ask Senator Shaheen to describe an ‘Assault weapon’ because I am reasonably certain her talking points palm card did not include that.

Conservative Guide to Dealing With Rioters

The left likes to accuse the Right of voter intimidation, but then says things like–if you don’t vote for Obama you are a racist, you hate women, you hate poor people, and if that doesn’t work….we’re going to riot. Given the trajectory of things my guess is that the inner city lefties will be eating … Read more

Two pro-self-defense State Reps.: Jenn Coffey and...

In the wake of the mass murder tragedy at an Aurora, Colorado movie theater yesterday—and the immediate effort of the Mainstream Media to link it to the Tea Party movement—it is worth remembering that More Guns Means Less Crime.

For instance, when a would-be mass murderer shot his way into a packed church in Colorado during a Sunday service in 2007…

If You Are Not Following Me On Twitter….

Twitter inspires the opportunity to aggravate the leftists who insist on following conservatives there. Not every witticism will fit on Twitter. Sometimes you have to write a blog and post a link. And then there are the thoughts that are too short to blog and too long to tweet. (Some things can’t be said in under 140 characters.)

Teachers Get Help From Republicans

A bill (HB 375) is being debated in New Hampshire that, if passed, would protect teachers from civil or criminal penalties when they use physical force in the classroom. The bill is designed to protect teachers who feel helpless against aggressive students because they are afraid of being sued by parents.

Bird Ruffles Feathers–Gets three to six

The problem seems to be that Bird had confronted a woman who had accidentally wandered onto his property in search of directions, and he was in no mood for small talk. He brandished his sidearm when she did not leave at his request for which he was charged and convicted of criminal threatening.

Why Liberals Really Hate Arizona

The left’s spleen venting on Arizona’s new law regarding illegal immigration makes perfect sense. Arizona, a sovereign state of the union, has for years (decades) left most of the problems associated with a porous border in the hands of the federal government.

Some of those problems included drug trafficking, people trafficking, and other criminal activates. From the violation of property rights all the way up to murder (not to mention the whole illegal part of illegal immigration) this has cost Arizona lives, resources, and business.  It’s gotten so bad that Phoenix is reportedly second only to Mexico City internationally for kidnapping and murder.
