This was just a pretty good thing to watch – a female Citizen telling a male Senator to “stuff it”.
“You are a large man…“You are not a young mother who has a young child with her,” she said. “And I am passionate about this position because you cannot understand, you are not a woman stuck in her house, having to defend her children, not able to leave her child, not able to seek safety, on the phone with 911, and she cannot get the police there fast enough to protect her child, and she is not used to being in a fire fight.”
I really do wish that these chuckleheaded elected officials would start to understand that it really shouldn’t be up to them to decide what is appropriate for others “Oh, that should be good enough for you – YOU DON’T NEED THAT other thing that I don’t like”. Nice to see her stick to her guns (yeah, intentional) in the discussion.
