If I understand the issue correctly, the party leadership thinks that only people who have registered in advance as Republicans ought to be able to get a GOP ballot on the day of the primary.

Our Memorial Day Weekend 2024 Republican presidential Primary poll ends in less than seven hours, so I thought I’d give you a recap/update of the results thus far.
The Presidential season is upon us. Sometimes it feels like we are always in election mode, but the official season is here, and the first Republican Primary Debate is just three months away. The RNC is planning 10-12 debates, which may be one for every candidate, as the field is snowballing.
Both sides are starting to fill in names on the list of candidates. Larry Elder is the most recent entry on the GOP side, joining an impressive list of patriots who have already thrown their hats in the ring. Nikki Haley, Tim Scott, and Asa Hutchinson have name recognition.
Despite repeatedly saying nasty things about President Trump and pimping himself out on cable news, when you say Chris Sununu to the average American, they have no idea who that is. That’s probably why disgraced Liz Chaney is polling better than Sununu in a theoretical 2024 presidential primary.
