Mitt Romney Advisor Sits on the Board of Burisma

Mitt Romney

A Foreign Policy Advisor for Mitt Romney’s 2012 Presidential run sits on the Board of Burisma. Romney is the sole Republican to vote to convict President Trump on an article of Impeachment. Can that be a coincidence?

When we are talking about all things swampy, no. There are no coincidences. And the swamp has a lot to hide in Ukraine. And as I noted here, probably a few other places. A cabal of insiders using foreign aid to enrich each other. At least that’s how it looks. So for Romney to want Trump out while having a bud on the Board of Burisma. That has a certain smell to it.

A swampy smell.

Who is this Romney advisor?

According to web archives, top Mitt Romney adviser Joseph Cofer Black, who publicly goes by “Cofer Black,” joined Burisma’s board of directors while Hunter Biden was also serving on the board.

According to The New Yorker, Hunter joined Burisma’s board in April of 2014 and remained on it until he declined to renew his position this past May. Meanwhile, according to Burisma’s website, Black was appointed in February of 2017 and continues to serve on its board.

Still on the board.

A guy who has deep ties to the American Intelligence community.

Mr. Black brought to this role his extensive background at the CIA, which he joined in 1974 and where he trained for covert operations.  He rose rapidly through the ranks, becoming director of the National Counterterrorism Center from 1999 to 2002.

He was brought on in 2017 while Hunter was still there so quick question. Why does a corrupt gas company who escaped one investigation thanks to Quid Pro Joe need a career CIA spook on the board? I doubt very much he knows anything about oil and gas, but I bet he still had his security clearance.

With Trump in the White House and corruption to cover up it might be useful to know if anything was coming their way. Maybe a scheduled phone call to the new Ukrainian President?

It is also an odd coincidence that Mitt has, as CNN puts it, “been a lone Republican voice expressing concern about President Donald Trump’s July phone call with Volodymyr Zelensky in which Trump asked Ukraine’s President to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his family.”

As I noted yesterday when we reported on Romney’s vote, “I’m curious about what Mitt has to hide in Ukraine or elsewhere. That’s been the locus of opposition to Trump. A drive to get him out of office before he uncovers the Left’s malfeasance.”

This sounds like the beginning of an answer.
