It’s that time of year, and we’ve taken to the interwebs to consult the digital traffic Santa to see who has been naughty or nice. Or, in our case, naughty and nice?

We’d Like to Share Your Radio Program or Podcast
For three years, ‘GrokTALK!’ was a two-hour weekly live stream and podcast. It’s been three years since I hung it up, and we’re still pondering ways to reboot that. Until then I’d like to use our GrokTALK! Channel to curate other people’s podcasts and radio programs to share with our substantial audience.
As Old Media Shifts Focus Online GraniteGrok Continues to Dominate the Space
Several of New Hampshire’s ‘Newspapers’ have gone *begging for donations to stay afloat. Some have shifted more content online and abandoned 7-days a week print editions. With an increasing shift to digital, how has GraniteGrok’s dominance held up?

Facebook owns the social media landscape. Not playing in their sandbox is a tough sell. GraniteGrok has seen a significant rise in traffic and engagement. From 30-50% of our traffic starts on Facebook. And traffic is way up. Could it be better? Probably. Are we subject to tactics meant to limit access to our content? Probably. But no … Read more

Ranking Numbers Improve But Position Remains the Same
If I may take a moment of your time for a quick update. In the past month, GraniteGrok’s Alexa numbers have improved. Our National numbers are better, and our global numbers took a healthy leap in the right direction. But we did not advance in our list of statewide internet media portals.
Of the fourteen sites we are tracking only one moved, and it was in backward.

A Bump On The Road To Unity

As a Blogger I am encouraged by the calls for unity from the NH-GOP leadership. But I do not believe they have a clue about how to get there from here. And blaming bloggers is clearly not the answer. In fact, it is exactly the opposite of “the answer.” I make that quite clear in the status update I posted on Facebook this morning.
“…the NHGOP is very bad at messaging. They are terrible at policy support during the session. They are not aggressive at all when it comes to going after Democrats. They never use the media resources at their disposal effectively. And they do a poor job of supporting local candidates. Meanwhile, ‘Bloggers” are doing all of those things…for free. But rather than thank me for the 1200 articles a year I might write attacking left wing policy, narrative, legislation, or commentary; or thanking me for supporting the platform, conservative principles, good legislation, or local Republican candidates, they piss and moan like children over the fifteen or so articles where I call out the GOP for acting like progressives.“
The first step toward recovery is accepting that you have a problem. The NH-GOP has a problem and it is not bloggers.
Ah – the power of the Conservative New Media – turning their own tools against them.
Last night, I put this post up concerning the Occupiers bust of a May Day “general strike”; where there were a number of reports of violence (given their tacit acceptance among them of the “perpetually angry Anarchist” mobsters who respect, well, not many. In that post was this tubba of a ‘tude with a snare drum who thought it would be absolutely dandy to use a small female cop’s head as a drumstick:
Like many, this OWSer is a coward – running away. Problem for him is that his face was prominently displayed at the beginning of the clip. Nice to see that with the extra “push” of kindred and like minded sites like the ‘Grok, the misogynist was caught (yeah, remember, these Occupiers are all about creating / mandating such a wonderful new world they had to have a special “rape free” tent down at Zuccotti Park in NYC). From Hot Air comes the news that Dim-witted Drummer Dude is going to have a special Date:
Concord Monitor Wont Cover it, But They’ll help Cover It up.
There is Free Press and then there is Free Speech. And then there is The Concord Monitor. The Concord Monitor would like you to believe that it is a defender of both Free Press and Free Speech. But if that were true, they would not be deleting comments that include links to posts at GraniteGrok. … Read more
Why pay for old news when you can get it new for free?
Hours before anyone else in New Hampshire, GraniteGrok had a detailed post up on the joint statement released by the people formerly known as Michele Bachmann’s New Hampshire campaign staff.
Liberals Think You Are Stupid
If you are reading this, then 30 mostly liberal groups believe you are too stupid to be able to filter out fact from fiction.
By: Jim Meyers: Newsmax
A coalition of more than 30 mostly liberal organizations has sent a letter to the Federal Communications Commission urging the agency to monitor “hate speech” on talk radio and cable news networks.
The groups assert in the letter that “hate, extremism and misinformation have been on the rise . . . as the media has focused on Arizona’s passage of one of the harshest pieces of anti-Latino legislation in this country’s history.”
The organizations include the Center for Media Justice, the Rainbow Push Coalition, the League of United Latin American Citizens, the National Association of Latino Independent Producers, and Common Cause.
“As traditional media have become less diverse and less competitive, they have also grown less responsible and less responsive to the communities that they are supposed to serve,” the letter states.
“In this same atmosphere hate speech thrives, as hate has developed as a profit-model for syndicated radio and cable television programs masquerading as ‘news.’”
The coalition did not mention any specific media outlets.
The groups also argue that the Internet has made it more difficult for the public to separate “the facts from bigotry masquerading as news,” The Hill newspaper reports.
The Internet “gives the illusion that news sources have increased, but in fact there are fewer journalists employed now than ever before,” according to the coalition.
“Moreover, on the Internet, speakers can hide in the cloak of anonymity, emboldened to say things that they may not say in the public eye.
“For these reasons, as the Commission deliberates how the public interest will be served in the digital age, it should consider the extent of hate speech in media, and its effects.”
The radicals are just trying to control the message. And trust me, if they fail the only ones getting violent will be the left wingers.
