As Old Media Shifts Focus Online GraniteGrok Continues to Dominate the Space

Several of New Hampshire’s ‘Newspapers’ have gone *begging for donations to stay afloat. Some have shifted more content online and abandoned 7-days a week print editions. With an increasing shift to digital, how has GraniteGrok’s dominance held up?

ICYMI:   Trump Approval Rating with Black Americans is Now Over 40%

We’re doing very well, thank you.

Our back and forth dance with the Union leader for the number one spot continues. They are currently ahead of us in the online space, but we’ve overtaken them at least once this year.

And while NHPR’s online ranking has seen some improvement in the past few months all the print media online portals in NH continue to lag behind us so (again) we’re doing very well, thank you. All, despite the lockdowns, stay-at-home orders, and quarantines that leave people with more time to check out more sources.

Old Media has other advantages as well. While we stick to news, politics, and culture, they report hyper-local, weather, sports (when permitted), and public interest stories. We do very little if any of that.

Old Media does not suffer the slings and arrows of partisan social media fact-checkers. Facebook used a source that invented facts we never published to declare our report “fake news.” We continue to have our content limited because of that.

And Twitter locked our account for 12-months for daring to share and comment on third party news that they did not like. Yes, they put us in Twitter-Jail for content someone else created that we quoted. Not them, us. We just got unlocked in February of 2020.

Despite these barriers, we continue to hold our position at number two fr digital-print media in the state, but we’re always looking to grow our audience. The Nashua Grok is starting to get into gear, and we’ve seen a few news articles in the Manchester MicroGrok that are driving traffic.

I am also personally sharing ‘Grok content on Codias, Gab, Minds, and joined Parler last month (if you use any of these social media portals). We, of course, recommend that you just go directly to the source, which many of you do, to avoid the left-wing filtering, but accept that many use social media to access content from all over.

And we thank you, as always, for your time and attention.

*And no, there is nothing wrong with asking for donations, we get donations all the time.
